Our favorite designers interpreted this cool element in many different ways. We saw an influx of details running directly down the middle from Amsale's beaded illusion backs (think: a completely sheer swatch of fabric with only beads sewn down the middle) to Angel Sanchez and Honor for Stone Fox Bride's lone swatch of sheer fabric amidst a sea of visible skin.

Like the necklines, the dipped backs were more plunging than ever. There was the sweeter take like Kenneth Pool's lace-lined cowl backs, to Mira Zwillinger's extra-sharp V.

Flowers, as always, had a moment on the many new iterations of illusion backs. Watters presented a duo of oversized blooms, while Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera let their florals grow freely throughout their sheer backs.
