　隨著台灣經濟起飛，兩岸互動頻繁，國外和大陸人士相繼來台觀光，國人外出旅遊已成為民眾生活的重心，本報前創辦人許道川先生為提供民眾更詳實旅遊資訊，於民國 99 年創立本報。

　許前創辦人仙逝後，慈美感念許創辦人為民服務精神理念，毅然承接遺志繼續為國人提供更加詳實旅遊資訊報導，並增加文藝新聞、社會、美食、醫療等版面全方位報導，使全國旅遊時報更加充實性。

　近期為因應時代潮流，本社網站也全面改版，並加強社群網站 Facebook、Twitter、Plurk、Tencent... 及 行動 APP 和動態新聞，希望能更迅速，詳實提供最新資訊給廣大民眾，其中更提供拍客專屬欄目給全國攝影愛好者一個發表作品的天地，未來也將增加文藝專欄，提供國內文藝界躍上國際的平台，將台灣文化、美食、美景發揚至海內外，希望國人能繼續給于支持與鼓勵，我們也將致力行銷台灣為目標。
