Doesn't work with HTC One S. Only attempted the android route since the iPad version wouldn't update the robot hardware/firmware. Guess this is more a review of the whole wonder workshop hardware/software suite. Going to continue to attempt to get it working on iOS but that doesn't detract from how frustrating the experience has been so far.

You have to have the toy robot connect to Bluetooth than it would work

U don't have to program on this app its a joystick but better

This app is a great learning experience for younger programmers and a good start for older beginner programmers. When we first got dash, my son was thrilled. We only had a little trouble finding a tablet that was compatible with the Robot. Definitely 5 stars for go!

I love dash and dot they are fun and fun

Remote control does actually work. It's pretty limited though. You can control sounds lights or motion. When controlling one aspect you can't control others. E.g, if you change lights you can't be moving it at the same time. Overall, it's pretty weak. Not launching for android with programming capabilities for a toy that is intended to introduce kids to development is also pretty terrible.

The app works... But extremely limited. These devices should never have been considered android compatible... 1 out of 4 apps available?! And only with KitKat?! Its a sad expensive joke...these are supposed to be programmable but the makers obviously can't program themselves! Perfect crap over hyped I device... I wish I could return it

The worst robots I have seen. Can't blink eyes nor move. No camera and nothing special about it. They are useful or educated for nothing. Waste of money... At least the inventors should know what they are trying to accomplish.

WTH. After paying over $260, all I got was 2 paperweights. The darn app blows up on my Samsung Galaxy S4. To add insult to injury when I called in customer service the girl tells me she has never heard of Galaxy S4. Don't buy this product unless you have money to burn.

Good thing my daughter has an ipad because all the apps aren't supported by android. Give me the code, and I'll try to convert it for you.

Ugh. Android support is so lacking it's pitiful. I can get it to run on my Note 2 or my son's tablet, or the Moto x 2013, or the Amzon Fire HD6. So so lame. It has been Apple centric since the beginning and it's sad. Because it is a cool product but the follow-up is terrible. Amateurish to be blunt. The lame app used to work on my Note 2. Now when I login it asks me to update the firmware. I try. But it crashes out every time. So I can't even use the limited use app I used to use that made it nothing more than a really expensive kind of lame RC toy. If I spent the same amount on an RC car or drone it would be a million times cooler. Oh well. Buyer's remorse big time.

Every time when I try to pair the robot it prompts me to upgrade and then crashes. Can't seem to get past this, restarts don't help. Will re-rate when fixed.

So this was a Christmas present and I was willing to wait for the new tech to get ironed out but it's now May and still basic and boring functionality. I have a flagship phone (LG G3) and cannot use any of the other Dash apps. I'd love it if this thing did something besides make some animal noises and drive around with clumsy controls. I really looked forward to teaching my son how to navigate around obstacles and helping him learn logic and math. This blows.

Most if not all of low ratings here are from people who reviewed before the app had full functionality, or those who did not understand requirements. App is now mature and well executed...beautifully laid out and easy to use. Dash zips around, and both my 3.5 and 7 year olds have fun. With the Path and Blockly apps also quickly maturing it's one of the coolest educ toys. If they'd open to computer and python control this would become even more awesome.

Crashes after I click on on the "make sure everything's ready" message when trying to connect to the robot. Tried 4 other devices and it only on 1 of them. Please fix this! My daughter really likes the robot and once we leave grandpa's house she won't be able to even play with it until it's fixed. Have the new gen Nexus 7.

The list if of working devices where the software works sucks. I have $285.00 paper weights on my desk and not once since I have them has my child played with them since it won't work on my 10.1 note tab....this company based it's whole roll out on apple ios...I wish I could return the darn things

Just need more apps so we can move away from them being expensive rc cars... Android is really behind at the moment :(

Just got these toys for my 5 years old and the android app really sucks, no functionality at all and cannot see the "educational value" of this. Thinking to return these pseudo- robots. Avoid the time spent in send them back.

"Robots" are not working, apps are under construction, support is non-existent. How I wish I could sue this company!

Whilst we continue to wait for anything useful on android for these cool little dudes, could you please remove install restrictions on the android shops so that more than a few undesirable handsets are supported? I can't even install them on my rooted sgs3 which should be able to run them.

You can move it, turn off and on the lights and play sounds. The app crashes every other attempt. I got this as an introduction to coding robots for my kids and I only found out that MakeWonder provides limited support on Android by reading reviews not by MakeWonder. Good thing we also have an iPad Mini or it really would have not be worth the purchase.

App no longer crashes after last night's update. Thanks guys. Kids love the bots but the lack of Path or Blockly have forced us to put them away because the kid's favorite thing is to simply crash Dash into Dot. We have RC cars for that. This review is for the Go app only which does work as expected. As an early Kickstart adopter lack of Android support given how you set expectations is disappointing.

The product itself (we've got Dash) is a solid, beautifully designed and packaged product. All 3 apps download on my iPad but they can't connect to Dash so are useless. Yes I have wifi hooked up ok and bluetooth ok. I have the Go app on my Samsung Galaxy S5 and this connects to Dash just fine so I can at least show my 5 year old son that Dash works but we've played with it for 10 minutes and are now bored without the use of the other apps. Seriously this is just not good enough Wonder Workshop.

I might as well have just bought an RC car! It would be more responsive and fun! Really? Only one Android app for these "robots"??? I feel swindled after all your hype and advertising.

I supported this product since Kickstarter because I wanted my kids to be able to program the robots. My eldest even learned Blockly waiting for the robots to arrive. Now I find no apps except Go available for Android! Grrrr. So despite two Samsung phones, two Nabis and a Kindle Fire, all we can do is drive Dash around like a little toy car and make it play a few sounds. I seriously hope they port an Android version of Path and Blockly really soon, because I don't want to shell out for an iPad just to get the robots to be programmable. PLEASE support this product properly! Big disappointment, but I still love the concept of the robots. 18 months in development is pointless if the Android half of the world can't use it. Also, like others have observed, switching between the two robots is buggy. No app crashes on Samsung Galaxy S4 so far.

We received Dash and Dot and are getting used to playing with them. The Go app isn't much, just basic remote controls, but it makes me believe that when the other apps show up they will expand the abilities of these little robots. Not happy with the fact that the apps require newer devices (even my Nexus 7 tablet isnt supported), but I did manage to "hack" my daughter's LG G2 cellphone to enable tablet apps and let her play with them. I can understand that "non tech savvy" are frustrated with the latest requirements.. but the app itself is nicely done. Can't wait for Blockly and Path.

Dash and dot are very cute, but Wonder Workshop folks have very poorly communicated to their customers the issues they are going to have with Android phones and implementation issues of BLE feature of Bluetooth 4.1. I think a better QA department and better product planning and SW release schedule are clearly in order. GO application only does remote control - if you want programming, you need to use app called Blocklify, from another vendor. Also, Path is only supported for iOS ...
