GizmoHub for Android
The primary parent should be able to customize restrictions and privileges to other caregivers. I allow my daughters family to be caregivers because they watch her a lot but I wouldn't want the auto answering calls when she is with another caregiver. It's a breach of privacy. They could be listening in on your conversations. I should be able to say who can have that feature without taking away their ability to use gps. Other than that, the app is great. Please fix this.
Good stuff. Does what it is supposed to. For those who i read are having problems with secondary caregivers not being able to map, try removing all caregivers (except yourself of course), save and exit, then add them back. Worked for me. My baby momma and my pop can map and text my kid now, which might be a bug but its really awesome and very helpful. Good job Verizon/LG. A speech to text feature on the messages would take this over the top awesome. My kid likes sending emojis but wants to send "texts". Speech to text would give my kid that satisfaction.
We got the Gizmo Gadget for our 6 year old daughter. It works great. Location Alert with no Time Frame would be great. Example: Alert me when my child arrives or leaves certain places, at any time. this function is used by most of your competitive, even by Caref, they call it Geofences I want to be able whether my child is at a safe place, and know when she is not, right away. Also, adding a SOS will make this services just perfect.
SO DISAPPOINTED!!! Finally found a GPS watch suited for my kiddo and it doesn't work. I should be more clear, the app on my phone doesn't work. I get to the screen where GizmoHub is supposed to send me a text with a 5 digit code and then.... nothing. I called sprint to make sure that my phone didn't have any funny blocks (read that a short code block could be the issue) but nope. everything from my end was fine. The Verizon customer service was no help either... I have emailed GizmoHub but don't hold out much hope. Will be returning the watch and have to start searching again.
Received this device yesterday for my 4 year old. She learned how to use all of the basic functions in a matter if maybe 5 minutes. Ease of use is exceptional. I enjoy the functions on my end to be able to tell location, make calls and simple texts. Now, my negatives. Battery life not great when using the device. Standby is fine. Not real time monitoring of location. I wish alerts could be set on a location all day, but I also understand the battery consumption aspect to that request. 911 nope. Texts from people I don't want to have access to her location, nope. My wife would like same administration rights as me, but can only have 1. Other than those items, we love the device and despite the shortcomings, still rate this 5 stars.
Great app and great phone/watch. Wish i could prevent them turning it off or force it to turn back on. Would also like to have the option to prevent the watch from being able to disconnect/hangup the phone unless three parent hangs up. Does it when parent calls... Not when the kids calls the parent. Just want to ensure crazy kidnapper can't hang it up when kids trying to call for help.
This app works great to keep my daughter and her close family in touch. The GPS is on point and always help me know exactly where she is. The quiet time feature is really helpful to keep her from playing with it when she is in school. I would suggest to the manufacturer to not make the call button so sensitive because sometimes her Gizmo calls me when he arm brushes against her jacket. But overall, so so happy for this in our life! Keep my 5 year old connected to us when she needs to be.
I love this app and the peace of mind it gives me, knowing where my kids are and that they can contact me. However, since the last update the quiet mode is no longer working. The call button speaks when pushed, even if it's in quiet mode. It gets accidentally pressed in school, and my kids teachers don't want them in class. It defeats the purpose of having the watches, if they can't take them to school.
Great little watch for the kids. The only thing I dislike is it only allows 4 numbers to program to it. 10 would be nice. Love the fact it pi points exactly where they are with out setting an alarm for them to know we have located it. Like the turn ringer off and has auto answer so I can hear whats going on in there surroundings.
The app or device has a bug with repeating tasks. One task I created to repeat every wednesday, but my child receives the alert for it on thursday. While I have another task that works fine that is on a sunday. I also wish there was the ability to mute some of the app notifications that aren't important to me.
Since last update, the watch has started messing up causing me to panic! I've had to call my child's school to make sure he was still there because it said he had left. Also the watch randomly turns off and back on now. Everything worked perfectly until the last update. Please check into it.
I'm a caregiver on my grandsons pal. Since the last Samsung s5 update (Feb 17'), I cannot located him. I have been dealing with Verizon for over a month. Was sent a new gizmopal. Won't let me link to it although I can call him and he can call me. Beyond frustrated.
This is a great app in concept. It has a lot of great features and security. Great for peace of mind. However they need to add the ability to have more than one person be a full admin caregiver. Parents more often come in twos. As it is only one caregiver can do all functions which can be limiting and potentially dangerous.
This has been a great app for our family's needs. The only thing I don't like is that it is constantly telling me that the Gizmo is on. I have talked to them about this and it was supposed to be fixed within a month of that conversation. That was October. Otherwise, it is great and easy to use. I don't see an update for the app, but maybe it is something with the Gizmo that needs to change.
Been using now for 4 months. It was very easy to set up and program to watch. Location check in works amazing. My son loves the voice text. I just wish i can turn on his phone from the app as my son forgets sometimes.
As the second caregiver the locator sucks. The locator show my daughter at home, when she is 3,4,5,10 miles away. It works sometimes when I'm with her, but it would be stuck at that location for days. Real time location finder, not even close. The phone and text work fine. I wish the Gizmos would include 911 for emergencies.
I feel great knowing my son has this device, it's a great alternative to a cell phone. Does so much, can track his whereabouts, send him quick message about plans, and if he doesn't answer call, will open up mic so I can make sure everything is OK
Why do I need to be alerted at 2AM that my nieces Gizmo is fully charged? OK then why do I need a notification several times during the day? The whole point is that notifications should have the ability to be disabled.
It's so slow and when I pull my daughter location it takes forever to give me a wrong position... One time I had to pull it 3 times to know that she was still at school
This app is not free, you need to purchase the Gizmo to use the app. That being said, for an app that is basically the heart and soul of the Gizmo it should be MUCH better. GPS location is super slow and not very accurate. Gizmo software update fails every time.
The only improvement would be if I could add the name my grandsons call me. I'm "Granny," not Grandma or Nana. Even my first name would be a better match. As it stands, I can choose another grandmotherly name, or use the word "Other."
It does not allow maintaining the todo items. Edit: Researching further this is probably related to only having one primary caregiver, although the app doesn't actually say anything about this. So the real issue is that there is only one primary. Same end result.
I loved it until the update. Now I keep getting notifications that my child is outside of a saved location on the other side of town when he's right next to me! I hope this glitch gets fixed!
Amazing to have this to start my kid off with. The app is easy to work with. Only problem is it seems tricky getting other caregivers set up on their phone... But otherwise awesome!
This could have Geo fences and maybe alerts when it's powered off. Otherwise for the price to operate is effective for locating it. Would like other options like anklet or back pack fobs for it to be placed instead of watch only it's a little cumbersome.
What a great thing for peace of mind! No more aimlessly searching for a lost child! We had eloping problems and where as the eloping hasn't stopped, we can now find him in a push of the button
Needs a different notification tone for battery charged, gizmo off, steps reached, etc. All day it sounds like I have texts coming in from my kids and its just a gizmo charged or whatever. Did anyone test this out that actually had kids? Way too many notifications, there needs to be a way to turn selected ones off or change the sound. If you try and set a quiet time from 9pm to 7am you have to set two quiet times. One for 9-11:59pm and another from 12am to 7am. Again, make it more intuitive and I'll give it a 5 star. Heck I should probably give it a 4 star, but the massive notifications are very annoying. PS: yes I could turn my notifications for the app off on my phone, but then when my kids try and text me I wouldn't hear it since texts come in on the app an not your default text application.
We love this watch/app. It gives us such relief being able to get in contact with our daughter whenever we need to. Recently, however, when I have it on quiet mode and she accidently bumps it at school it still annouces that she is calling someone and actually calls them. Any idea gow to fix that glitch? I don't want the school taking away her watch and our sense of security for a mistake.
So far so good. Great option for young children who are not ready for a mobile device. Daughter loves it more than she thought she would. Worth the money and peace of mind. The only thing I'd improve was being able to turn it on from the application.
I love that I can now see when my daughter is calling someone and who. This is great to keep in touch with her when she is with friends and I don't have to worry about her losing it like a regular phone.
Only one primary caregiver? Location notifications must be scheduled? (as if I know exactly *when* my child will go missing?). Useless battery full notifications? Scheduled quiet times are great though!
Really helpful for single parent to keep in touch with their kid. For safety of the child I'd like to see the ability to remotely turn on phone when kid turns it off by accident.
We love the gadget..I can get a hold of my son anytime. The only thing is he can't end a call unless he's the one who made the call. If someone on his contact list calls him he's not allowed to end the call. Which I find very weird.
They updated the app and now it does not allow you to get the security code needed to apply the app to the Gizmo Gadget. I am very disappointed because I'm giving this to my granddaughter for Christmas and she won't be able to use it until they fix the problem. I am very unhappy at the moment I wanted to call her while I was wrapped in a box and she can hear it ring while it was in the box and now I can't do that.
Great app. But the GPS is often inaccurate. I love the watch for the most part. Wish the waistband was bigger though. Kinda snug on her wrist. And sometimes it accidentally "wrist" dials. If her arm bumbs it.
So far, so good. Locations are accurate. Phone calls are clear. As of this date, we've had it for roughly a month. It's perfect for children under 12 who live in two homes.
I was very happy with this purchase. This is the reason we actually switched to Verizon. But now that i hv the s8, i cannot check location, change auto answer settings. Disappointed.
I wish I knew what I do now. I love texting my Lil one and my youngest cannot text only call. I feel bad so I'll advise parent's recommend if their close in age to get the better of the two. GPS location is great and you can name certain locations... Uncle, grandma, nino, etc etc
2/3/17 I heard from the developer today. Actually called me personally. They are working on a fix and will get back with me this next week. ************************************************************************** If you have a Nexus 6p run the other way! So it seems there was a update now my phone will not connect. My daughter reset her Gizmopal on accident so we had to completely reset it so, we uninstalled and reinstalled the app on both phones, we can get my wife's Note 4 set up fine but my Nexus 6p will not connect.. after over a hr on the phone with Verizon we are left with a worthless Gizmopal.. well, not completely. My wife can use it. 02/01/2017 Update, after spending hours on the phone with tech support and after buying a new Gizmopal 2 we still cannot connect this to my phone. Downgrading from 2 stars to 1 until this is fixed. This was a WONDERFUL set up until it wasn't :( Quick summery, Google says it's the app, the app developer says it must be the phone, Huawei says its the software which is google. See this wonder circle I'm in here? I've wasted $80 twice (I'll return what I can) and 4 hours of my life trying to get this resolved.

This app is amazing. I always know where my child is and she can call me from her watch anytime. Her school bus got stuck in traffic for two hours and I was able to call and track my child the whole time. They didn't get back until late and while other parents were very stressed and worried I was able to stay calm in knowing exactly where my child was. The price of this is more than worth the piece of mind when it comes to my child's safety. buy it! You'll be glad you did.
