Why Android?: Android is currently our of the most reliable and affordable options for implementing this type of systems. It provides access to a broad set of hardware options while providing the necessary support Bilik requires.
Why Google?: Most of our customers are already using Google Apps for Work as their main office backend. Because of that, we decided to provide our functionality to this type of users first.
Our application communicates directly with Google Calendar, synchronising changes immediately. This means that people operating the tablet and people using the web calendar will always see the same information.
No additional servers are required.
All our system requires is:
- Android 4.0 or later
- Google Calendar account
- Wifi (guest access should be enough)
- Access to outside internet (to connect to our backends for tablet to tablet coordination)
This is an open source project. You can find the source code of this project at github.com/orgs/bilikpro. Our project is covered by the Apache License 2.0 and it is provided "as is". Given that this is a free product, we can't provide any level of support.
