Job and Anne, owners of ‘de Koffieschenkerij’, an espresso bar at the hottest spot of the Red Light District, opened their doors for art!

Amsterdam based artists Mooiman and Hijbeek started their artist collaboration after finishing their bachelors in Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Jane Rogan KC is the name of their practice. They use paint to emphasize things that caught their attention in images and other visual material. In their work they react on other images by making new images. Therefore they don’t view themselves as painters but more as image-makers.

Their art should be approachable and may even be seen as decorative. Patterns and vibrant colours are used to seduce the viewer. Playful brush strokes are made to keep the works clear and simple. They work together by sharing the same subjects and energy levels.
