FindMe SMS

This application allows you to share your GPS coordinates. It has the distinction of being completely decentralized and fully functional only with the cellular network and the GPS of your phone.

It may be used :
- At outdoors concerts (or events) to locate friends in a crowd,
- During forest walks to signal your position or save a spot,
- To save the location of your car in a city or in a parking lot...

Fonctionalities :

-Location sharing is done via SMS. If the contact does not have FindMe SMS, it can view the positioning directly via the mobile browser through the website OpenStreetMap.

- Navigation is done thanks to a compass integrated in the application. It is possible to use other mobile applications like GMap, Waze, etc.

- To locate, the application uses the GPS position given by your phone, but it is also possible to choose a location on an integrated map.

- You can save positions sent by your contacts or save your own positions.

- You can manage each contact's permission concerning your location sharing.

- Except for the map display (for the manual selection of a position to back up or share ), the application does not use your phone service provider's data network.

- This application is completely free and without advertising. It respects your privacy because the exchanges are/the communication is made directly between mobile phones via SMS/text messages.


In no way/case you can hold the application's author/creator responsible for overcosts (that might appear while using the application, be it) due to data network (3G, 4G, etc.) allowing the map display, or to SMS plan/contract overcharging or SMS to premium numbers overcharging due to your own or by malicious code.

This application is free and free from ads. It wasn't developed for a lucrative purpose, but to improve my own skills at developing an Android application.
