About VR Journey to Paris LowRes
This is an alpha version! Yet, we decided to share it with everyone who believes the VR revolution is at our doorstep and is excited about it as much as we are. So, despite all imperfections we proudly present the first VR Drive’s app: “Journey to Paris.”
Let us know what you think!
Apps like “immerse yourself in a 360° tour” have been around for a while. If you’re here, you have most probably seen them. This one is different.
First thing you will see after installation and running the app will be a tutorial explaining briefly what to do. Hopefully it’s clear enough, but just in case it isn’t, here are some key points: “Journey to Paris” is based on about 3 minutes of 360° & 3D video footage. It means that:
- the time passes,
- the camera is moving,
- the information hotspots change their position (we call them POIs).
Interaction with Points of Interest (POIs) is obvious, keep the pointer at them for a second. Looking down will pause the film. It will turn black and white, so you can easily find and open all POIs. Through interaction with POIs you can enter the spherical interface. We encourage everyone to take time and explore it a little. It really is an alpha version, so lots of things don’t exactly work yet, instead there are textboxes saying what function we think should be there. For more details visit our website.
In this case the message is the medium. We would like to thank in advance everyone who will install and try our app, and kindly ask to share your comments.

Disclaimer:
We are aware that the following issues still need our attention, and we are working on them: Giro latency and drift, Video refresh rate, Short distance stitching, Enabling all interface functionalities. We would also like to stress that we did take care about respecting copyright for all texts and images we’re using, but in case we didn’t notice something, please inform us, we will take immediate and appropriate actions.
