You get a real mobile number that can be called from normal phone lines (some limitation can apply due to local telecom operators).

In my business I need secure communications and this works on the iPhone's in the office so this has been a very upsetting performance with Android because we cannot get any support from these people, there is no reply to emails or anything else it's just a total disaster and wasting a lot of time. We are now looking at whether to cease using this app on the iPhone as well. If they won't apply the credit you pay for what is the point?
