It gives you access to history data for more than 10000 locations in the world, reaching up to 70 years for some. You can easily find the answers of the mentioned questions, and have fun exploring the weather conditions on remote locations.
Statistical and History related data is always something that pops up when discussing weather. Which in turn happens each day. Weather Explorer helps bring some facts into those discussions by giving you access to temperature and conditions history from the past years. For most cities there is history for 15-20 years, while for quite some US cities, the history spans to as early as 1950 and more. This allows you to even monitor climate change trends, or at least re-validate statements of temperatures being so hot/cold ever.
The history data is collected from select weather stations, this is why it is not possible to have information for each city. Anyway - there are more than 2000 locations that you can explore.

Has EVERY city imaginable, and is packed full of historical data. If weather, stats, databases, or weather is of ANY interest to you, then this app is it. If you are only curious of what the weather WAS like on any given day, then this app is it. Great job developing. I asked Google Play Store to allow me to rate this 6 stars.....they never replied.

Vladimir, I must rely on weather underground to get specific almanac history. They have wind direction graphs for all hours of the day. However, if I look up wind direction for "x" location on "y" day it initally gives me a single value i.e. North @ 7 mph. It is an average of the day's prevailing wind directions. For an app such as yours- which is a quick and easy source of reference- a single one-day value like North @ 7 is fine. If I need more detail, I will go to a more suitable location to find it. As far as the region: the prevailing winds of a region pretty much stay the same. Maybe base direction off of larger cities? I am looking for accuracy, not precision, and your app offers this- notwithstanding the issue of wind direction. Thanks for the reply, I hope you get it worked out and added to the app!

Fascinating app for looking back in time, and contrasting past to future. Lots of graphics and different parameters. Sometimes, they're a bit slow in updating, but it's where I go for 'Big Picture" weather patterns.

Pro: Wunderground is slow on mobiles Con: I've searched for "Port Elizabeth, South Africa" and the past weather is wrong... it's sometimes warmer... Suggestion: make a "search" function where you can search for example "Days with the high below 15 degrees" or something similar. Good app but can be better.

I was in the process of developing software to analyze the NWS database for trends over time - then I stumbled across this app. Pretty much everything I wanted was already there. The historical monthly view is superb. Highly recommended.
