1. Show Internet connection status in status bar:
Red: Offline
Orange: Bad latency
Green: Online without data traffic
Blue: Online with data traffic
Purple: Online with high data traffic (more than 512KB/second)
2. Use DNS query. No direct connection to Internet to minimize cost, low power consumption.

The app is very reliable and does what it says. The icon can be changed from flower to something more professional. No notification icon in lollipop and above. Know that android has changed notification bar to material design. You can update to this design showing white icons of different symbols referring to different internet status that you show in different colour flowers previously. Mobile data alert for Tx and Rx should be combined as ISP is counting this as combined.

Notification bar is always flooded with other app icons that causes this app icon can't be seen anymore, unless this app icon could be floated

Notification says offline but window is green. Doesn't change when net connection dies or is disconnected.

Tap the widget get me status. Update it. Make it simple tap on widget green is up for working internet, else red. This update can get you more users.

Brilliant works as advertised, very impressed, had this idea for years as live in developing world where interent is very patchy. Let us know if you port this to OSX tool bar on desktop, would gladly pay for this.

App indicator works, changes color of flower (pretty but lame), but the sound function doesn't work; I was hoping it would audibly notify me whenever wifi switched to data and back so I know when I'm paying for airtime or not

I agree with previous review, add more icons other than just a flower. That was my reason for buying the app... I thought the more features would offered additional icons. Still a great app.

Add sound & vibration notification for no Internet status. Without that it's useless. And add more icons. Not everyone wants a cute little flower on their status bar..
