I love the fact that this app can read aloud as you read along with it. However with the new version it reads aloud to you but if you touch the screen it's stops it from reading and if you press pause and then resume it starts the chapter over from the beginning. It does not pick up where I left off. I'm not able to scroll while it's reading.

New version is useless to me, prefer the (much) older version. Whenever I swipe left/right it does not turn the page but goes to a new chapter. It also does not save the page I was on in the chapter, but opens to the beginning of the chapter whenever I reopen a book or swipe back from accidently going forward a chapter. There are less customization options in this reader than the older version. Devices I am using are the Google Pixel, Android 8.1 and a Samsung tablet, Android 7.1.1. These issues have not been resolved with the most recent update.

Have to use this for CFA ebook. Horribly slow, takes hours to load even a downloaded PDF. Unfortunately CFA institute app is been pulled back, otherwise would never install this. Developer kindly take this feedback seriously and work on it.

Not bad, if you can gain access. Devs need to realize this app isn't a missile silo, accessibility shouldn't be such an ordeal. App forgot it was on one of my devices and said I was over the limit of two. Had to deactivate and reactivate after resetting my password to an overly complex one. They're just books, not a gold reserve

12/11/17 It was working fine before the latest update. Now, when I try to swipe left or right, the app crashes automatically. FIX THIS PLEASE!! 1/3/18 I'm guessing there was another update, but I'm still having issues, the same ones everyone else is having. When I first open the app, it loads, but then when I choose a book to open, the app crashes out. I can go back into it by clicking on it again, but then I get the continuous loading screen everyone else is talking about. PLEASE please fix this, I loved how convenient it was for me to keep up with the readings for my classes when this app was working for my first class. It's only my second class in and I feel way less productive!

New app still has no option to save books to SD card. But now copy function doesn't work and app crashes frequently. Awful experience.

Books don't show up in this horrible app. No customer support number so we must wait for email responses. Pathetic.

It was okay before the update. Now i can`t even highlight without turning the page. Worst update ever! What a waste of time! If i cpuld i would get a different reader. Unfortunately i am stuck with this turd.

It's laggy on my kindle fire whenever I scroll up oyer down. Also, when i click on the link which references exhibits within the topic, it always jumps to the first page of the topic rather than to the exhibit. Book is 2018 CFA LEVEL 2

my Highlights have suddenly disappeared from the mobile app even though they ar very much present on the website when i logon. i have tried uninstalling and downloading app at least 4 times but alas, my highlights refuse to come back unto the mobile app. to me this should be junked. from the stats of people who reviewed it too, you have a lot of dissatisfied customers (45%). you guys should fix up

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy note 8 and each time I try to load or read a book the app crashes.

I'm now able to save notes again when highlighting text. Thanks for fixing this. It's a smooth experience now.

I'm presently having issues with the app. I can't download my CFA material now

This app really needs an Amazon compatible version so I can use it on my kindle. I would much rather use that over trying to read off my phone.

.. it was fine before but now it takes ages to just load a page.... Please fix it.. exam is nearing need to study while commuting :-p

Will be a good app if does not ask so many information about the user when you want to search for a book. Looks like a data collector app.

I didnt much care for this app before but now Im completely disgusted. 9 times out of 10 it wont load my books on my Tab A. My school makes us use this app and its ridiculous that there are so many problems. Thanks Vitalsource. I love falling behind in my school work.

I enjoy using this app, I enjoyed previous versions better though. The highlight function does not work now when I highlight text on my Android device. I have not tried it on my Kindle fire. Also, every time I flip the screen, the text goes back to the beginning of the chapter instead of where I was reading. Please fix!

Since the last update, It has lots of bugs aed errors which make it very difficult to use. Suudenly all my highlights disapear and I have to restart my tablet. Loading and highliting has got very slow. This is the only way I can read my exam materials and most of my time is spent dealing with its bugs! Its making me crazy!

Just downloaded $800 worth of books that I cannot open on bookshelf.. I am using Android version 7.1.1 on a brand new device and when I click on any book it will just sit on the loading symbol and refuse go open. Since this is the top concern in all of these comments, I truly hope they fix the issue before school starts in a few days. Emailed tech support with no reply

***UPDATE*** I was informed that if your device originally had android 5.0 or 6.0 and was updated to 7.0, then you will have problems. They are attempting to work on a correction. Until this update happens, it will not work. ***This app used to work. Now with the update, if i can get it to load, it stops working 2 min later. I've been able to read 2 pages since the update. This is terrible. I need this app to work. How do I uninstall the update? Completed most recent update. Still hate it. When can we have a version that actually works? This is absolutely ridiculous.

I'll probably fall behind in my assigned readings for my class unless this app is fixed. It currently shows my books and their tables of contents, but it does not show the main bodies of text within the chapters. If you can use a different reader app, you should do so.

Amazingly buggy app on my Chromebook. The desktop version seems to work ok, but the Android app not only has less functionality but also is inconsistent with its operation. Would love to use a different reader for my textbooks, but we are forced to use Bookshelf. If you require proprietary software / app, please at least make it useable. Disappointed and frustrated.

Please add a night mode, also its really hard to read the tables, when trying to view the right side of the table you will just accidentally flip the page. At the same time the updated app is much faster and lighter. PS sometimes highlighter does not work, while the copy feature never worked for me.

It's slightly better than Kindle. The app helped me push through my semester. The text to speech needs a lot of improvement. I like how I can read the book on my tablet and look at the book on my desktop computer at the same time. I am slightly disappointed that there is no text to speech function on the desktop version.

Since new interface I cannot actually open most of my books about 90% of times (just keeps loading). When it works, if I make an highlight it freezes everything for about 2 mins. Just not usable at all and only way I can use the books given by my university. Such a bad app

The new update makes the read function in useable! The highlighted text is way off and touching the screen to follow along skips the paragraph! The pause/read from here option is completely useless as the reader keeps going until the app is closed! FIX THIS! The Jan 2018 update has addressed the text to speech functionality in a good way. It is still rather unstable but the update is hours old. Once everything is in working order it's going to be great! The text to speech option is buggy and nearly unusable. The speed options are either way too slow or too fast to comprehend. It doesn't have the ability to skip punctuation. Update that thing!

It malfunctions when trying to sign in. When you are unsuccessful it freezes up & refuses to show the login boxes again until you restart your phone. Simply closing the app doesn't fix it.

My books are always stuck loading so I can never actually open them to see the content. There is just a spinning wheel. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and the books... Nothing worked. Would be nice if I could open the books in different app (like Nook) so I could actually study.

Some books cannot be highlighted. Others, reading loud feature doesn't work properly. After the latest update it turned even worse. one cannot start reading without Getting through almost all the paragraphs to reach the one want to start from in the middle of the page!!

Text to speech shouldn't be advertised as a useful tool on this app. It would be very foolish to simply listen to one's textbook. Add just one graphic to the page and the TTS jumps around the page without any order to the paragraphs. Zooming is super clunky on this app and just trying a simple pinch to zoom occasionally crashes the app completely. Bottom line: the app is essentially a PDF viewer... that doesn't work properly. Should have ordered my textbook rental through Google.

Worst reader app ever. Slow loading. Raised this issue a month ago and they still haven't fixed it. It is ashame cfa instituted had to discontinued their own app which was a better app

Not loading books. Continues to show loading symbol. Restarted phone and reinstalled app. Didn't help. It worked before the last update. Now my book for college is working. Thanks for blocking my learning. Fix soon. I'm using galaxy s8+

I can't get any of the subject matter to open. It is continuously loading. I can have the text read aloud, but I can't see it, and that is really frustrating.

Prefered it before the update. Now some pages of my book wont highlight or allow for notes (can add notes but there is no keyboard to actually type anything). Also, page turning is super sensitive. I try to highlight a section but when I move the cursor arrows to get more thsn one word highlighted, it ends up turning the page. Super frustrating when you have a limited amount of time to read for a course

Worst reading app I've ever experienced. The opposite of intuitive. Can't properly resize text and keep everything on the screen. Viewing PDFs is like reading with a magnifying glass. Who designed this piece?

Edit* Vital Source contacted me via email and ensured that ebook side loading would return in the near future!. Thanks for informing me Vital source. *Original* Took away the ability to open personal ebooks, only works with their cloud books now.

The app no longer works since the update. When it first updated the searched for words were not highlighted. The app now no longer opens up my book which I need for my course work. I have emailed the company but I have not had a response, I have just sent them another email. I am really unhappy with the app and service.
