MapTrack GPS real time track for Android
Works, but interface could do with a major facelift.
Easy real time plotting

This app uses my preference method of GPS measuring. By the mile. I do not like pedometers that make you convert stride length. GPS is much easier, and you can easily share your progress to social media. 5 Star's.
Awesome package. Use it all the time
Very good track
If you want to record a journey and share that journey publicly there are few (if any?) better options than this awesome app. It may not be the most intuitive interface and setup, but it does a really useful task very very well. I've been driving it around the US for ten weeks now and it's doing fine (lastminuteslostevenings.tumblr.com/wherearewe). Just make sure you've got a way to keep your device on, charged, and synced. Most needed new feature: ability to add data points retrospectively in case your device turned off or lost location services. Also, a simpler way to get the track shared (remember how simple Google Latitude was...!) Superb customer service too.
Very good app for recording tracks for viewing in Google Earth, even using cached tiles offline - a huge benefit!
When I try to save a new track, it crashes the app immediately. Would have been nice if there was a free trial before I shelled out $2.99 for an app that does nothing.
I found it occasionally closes for no reason and there is absolutely no way to load a previous track to continue it. In fact, there is no way to load or review anything this app does!
Would be 5 stars if did not need constant Internet access - eats bandwidth & battery life. Power mgt & ability to use cached Google maps are high priority for development.
@Sasy. Please note, MapTrack is an application for real time tracking, track sharing and managing tracks in Google Docs. It does not measure area. For measurements on Google Maps use our Planimeter app. Thank you.
A lot of operation to start tracking, not have area calcul. As define.
