Patrimonio natural, legado cultural, tradiciones y muchas aventuras en un mismo lugar

Puerto Montt es el punto de partida para recorrer el sur profundo de Chile. A pocos kilómetros hacia el norte de esta ciudad, Puerto Varas, Ensenada, Llanquihue, Frutillar y Puerto Octay, son las localidades que rodean el inmenso lago Llanquihue, el segundo más grande de Chile.

Habitada primeramente por poblados Huilliche, fue descubierta por Pedro de Valdivia en 1552, siendo colonizada por alemanes a finales del siglo XIX, inmigrantes que adaptaron sus costumbres a las de los pueblos originarios, generando una cultura muy particular dentro del país, que se ve reflejado en la cultura y la gastronomía local.

Este territorio se encuentra ubicado en el sur de Chile y está inmerso dentro de la Ecorregión de Bosque Valdiviano que fue declarada Reserva de la Biósfera por la UNESCO el año 2007. De igual manera, Chiloé posee un amplio legado cultural y arquitectónico que también fue valorada por este organismo internacional, que declaró a las Iglesias de Chiloé como Patrimonio de la Humanidad en el año 2000.

Se debe destacar que la región posee la temporada de pesca recreativa más larga de Chile, que parte en septiembre y finaliza en mayo, además, la zona albergará importantes eventos internacionales, ya que en octubre, Puerto Montt será ciudad-sede del Campeonato Mundial de Futbol sub 17 y Puerto Varas alojará la mayor Cumbre de Turismo Aventura a nivel internacional, el Adventure Travel World Summit 2015, junto al Foro Internacional de Turismo Originario.

La Región de Los Lagos es un importante punto de actividades portuarias y náuticas a nivel nacional, por ejemplo, en octubre parte la temporada de cruceros, donde Puerto Montt y Castro son paradas obligadas para estas naves internacionales. Además, en Chiloé se realizará el evento náutico más reconocido del país, la “Regata de Chiloé”, actividad que se realiza cada dos años en el sur de Chile y que reúne experimentados veleristas del país y del extranjero, en esta oportunidad, el evento se llevará a cabo durante enero 2016.

La zona posee varios destinos destacados, entre los que resaltan:

Osorno-Puyehue, la zona norte de la región de Los Lagos ofrece un completo circuito que va de la cordillera hasta el mar, pasando desde el parque nacional Puyehue, con sus reconocidas fuentes termales, junto a la ciudad de Osorno y la costa que ofrece gran variedad de productos del mar.

Mapu Lahual, Es una red de parques indígenas que se ubica en el área costera de las comunas de San Juan de la Costa, Rio Negro y Purranque, esta ruta exhibe iniciativas de agroturismo ligadas a emprendimientos huilliche y que rescata las costumbres de los pueblos originarios del sur de Chile.

Lago Llanquihue, comprende las comunas de Puerto Varas, Llanquihue, Frutillar y Puerto Octay, esta zona comprende varios atractivos como el volcán Osorno, el parque nacional Vicente Pérez Rosales, los saltos de Petrohué y el lago Todos los Santos.

Chiloé, reconocido por su patrimonio natural y cultural, este archipiélago destaca por su gastronomía y otros atractivos como áreas silvestres protegidas, pingüineras, avistamiento de avifauna entre otros.

Patagonia Verde, agrupa las comunas de Cochamó, Hualaihué, Chaitén, Futaleufú y Palena, este territorio comprende la parte norte de la patagonia chilena y sobresale por sus tradiciones gauchas, paisajes cordilleranos y bosques siempre verdes, además de fiordos que atraviesan esta zona. Esta localidad sobresal como un territorio ideal para la pesca recreativa con devolución.

Carretera Austral, su hito cero se encuentra en la ciudad de Puerto Montt y esta zona es la puerta de entrada a la Patagonia chilena, destaca por sus múltiples atractivos como áreas silvestres protegidas, montañas nevadas, además de rutas ideales para el senderismo y el ciclismo.
