About VirtualHere USB Server

The VirtualHere USB Server will turn your Android Phone/Tablet/TV/PC/Shield/Embedded device into a USB Server.

It is written as a C native complied binary (not java) for increased performance. It will utilize multiple CPU cores if available and supports all USB transfer modes, control, bulk, interrupt and isochronous.

This app will support sharing one (1) USB device at a time. If you want to use advanced features like sharing multiple devices from a single Android server, or running the client as a service, please purchase a license from https://www.virtualhere.com

Clients are available for Windows, Linux and OSX.

The VirtualHere USB Server removes the need for an actual USB cable and instead transmits USB signals over a wireless or wired network. The USB device appears as if it was directly attached to a client machine even though it is remotely plugged into your android device. All existing client drivers work as is, the client machine doesn't know the difference! Its like replacing the USB cable with a network connection (or alternatively giving a USB device an IP address)

For example:

1. Remotely control your digital camera by plugging it into your phone and controlling it remotely via a desktop
2. Turn any printer into a wireless printer
3. Use USB devices in virtual machines
4. Plug in your gaming controller and remotely play streaming games over the LAN or Internet
5. Use a USB-to-serial converter to remotely access serial devices
6. Use USB devices in the cloud. Plug in the device and it can be directly used from a cloud server with no special programming required!
7. Mount USB drives connected to your android device directly in windows/linux/osx

Your Android device needs to have USB host abilities (most larger or new devices have this). Also you may need to buy a Micro-USB OTG to Host adapter if you only have a Micro-USB plug.

The client software is available for download from https://www.virtualhere.com/usb_client_software

The first screenshot shows a USB webcam plugged into a remote Android Device and being used on a local Windows machine. i.e converting a normal webcam into an IP webcam. When sharing a webcam it is recommended your Android device connects via Ethernet for minimum network latency.

The next screenshot shows a Apple Mac machine accessing a FTDI serial device that is plugged into a remote android device. ie. serial over IP

App is Absolutely Amazing. It blows my mind that you can actually do this. Using this with an Xbox One controller and Game Stream on an Nvidia shield and it works beautiful. The Developer is also very responsive! Absolutely recommend this app, especially if you are streaming UWP games that require the use of an Xbox one controller.

I'm trying to use this while streaming games via Moonlight to my android device running RemixOS. Ond in particular is a RC flight simulator program that can use my RC controller via a USB interface. In theory, I should be able to use your software to plug my controller into my android box and my streaming computer will think I plugged it into it. So, why isn't it working? Searched the forums and tried the suggestion of manually entering the device IP address but, no effect. Is there a manual or any kind of official guidance at all? If I can find out what I"m not doing that I'm supposed to be doing then I'll update my review but, right now, this is useless to me and will be uninstalled. RESPONSE TO BELOW COMMENT: Actually, RemixOS does support the play store. That's how I downloaded and installed it. Perhaps it doesn't work on the Pine64? UPDATE: did try it again, still doesn't work regardless of what USB device I plugged in. CAN THE DEVELOPERS PROVIDE ANY INSIGHT WHAT SO EVER? NOTE TO DEVELOPERS: Instead of the snarky response, you should have read my original post. Then you'd have seen that I DID check the forums before posting here.

I tried everything, it won't work and I don't know why. My device is an xperia z2 with android 5.1.1, stock rom rooted via kingroot. I hate to dislike it, the windows and linux versions work so well..

This works perfectly on my Nvidia Shield, and allows me to use my Xbox One Controller when streaming to my PC. This is the single best app that I have purchased for my Shield.

Perfect for managing removable storage from a PC! Allows Nvidia Shield TV owners to mount any non-adopted USB or microSD drive on their PC in a few clicks. Transfer your stuff and unmount. Super easy.

Works great for Nvidia Shield TV and Gamestreaming for the games that don't detect a controller, but you need to use some other controller than the official from Shield for it to work on most games, since that one doesn't work on most of those games even if wired on the PC, so if you got a X360 one or Dualshock you are set.

Nvidia Gamestream: "Troubleshoot Your Living Room" I you get that, you probably know this app can be very VERY useful. I have done well with it and "kinoconsole" when gamestream has had issues. It is really great for any remote connections so you can use your mouse or trackball and not have to try to replace them with a touchscreen which is anywhere from clunky to useless. I bought a license and strongly urge anyone using it to consider the same. We need this solution, let's support it.

Well I brought this app up on the Shield forums. Not sure if these people saw my post and checked out the app but for whatever reason they confirmed it to be working. Here's 5 stars. :-)

Exactly what was needed to get multi-controllers working over NVidia Gamestream until they fix their controller issues. Still has limited options (such as only sharing one device), but in my case, it worked perfectly to share the xbox wireless dongle with my PC.

This is a great piece of software. I've been using the Raspberry Pi version and now that there is a Android version, it makes it even easier to share USB devices around the house using my android TV box. Thanks for all the hard work that went into this.
