Also, want to see if your train is on time? You can see real-time info on how any train is running across Britain, and even which platform it will arrive into at your station.

Horrible horrible experience. App won't show my ticket and Virgin has no plan B. There is no way to view your ticket and travel if it doesn't show on the app even if you have shown all evidence and staff at station understands you paid, still they can't be of help

Extremely poor and non user friendly. The application lacks in many ways and plays up. More important the virgin train staff are not adequately trained on the app so no one can help when things go wrong.

This app is very temperamental. Like a lot of other reviewers, it fails on many levels and I have to tolerate trying to use it! If Virgin cares about their customers, they need to fix this properly.

Woefully inadequate. I have an account, use it to book tickets etc. I know that my username and password is correct yet this app will not let me log in. Update July 2017 - What is the point of this app if you can't use your east coast account???

Pathetic. Won't even allow registration, and every new registration attempt wipes personal data leading to repeated name/address/card number input. I'd be quicker walking to the station and booking in person.

Person who designed it clearly lacked "logical thinking" skills. Cannot log in, every failure to do so takes you call to the start. If you reinstall the app, all the details must be re-entered (even if you do have an account). Train search doesn't show stops on the way or final destination of the train so need luck looking for the right one at the station.

The customer service is a dreadful experience without accountability. The train services are regularly cancelled. Pointless using.

Annoyingly keeps asking if I am sure I want to return to the main screen from any of the others. It would be nice to disable this pointless, annoying message.

Don't get why does it has to be so difficult to use. For example why is there a time limit for tickets? Also, in other apps like Ryanair all you have to do is to click ticket and the barcode+ticket will show up, here you have to click to separately. Also what's up with the back button that just brings you back to the very start of the menu. You should get a better user testing for this app next time and get some good developers as well!

It shows live train times and it allows you to book tickets for any destination with any train Plus it has a live bus arrival ( London ) and for trains too Thank you Virgin trains it is the best app for transport and booking tickets online

The app is much better than GWR Train App but unlike that app, this app doesn't generate Nectar points even if it states that it does. Checking my Nectar account and no points have been added for Virgin Trains for a month of using the app. Virgin have told me that its not their problem!

Absolutely awful experience, I'd use the trainline app if they didn't charge a fee or allow you to collect nectar points but this app is one of the worst I've used. If I were Virgin I'd ask for my money back from the development team

I can't even log in! Just booked my first e-ticket, will not bother again. I put in my login details, it tells me I am logged in, yet leaves me on the login details page. If I try to see my ticket, it asks me to login, Absolute waste of time, very poor app

This used to work. The interface was bad because it does not remember the stations you have picked but at least it worked. Now every time I buy a ticket it diverted me to collect my tickets instead of having it on my mobile. Absolutely useless

I have been using this app for a year. I have always been able to get a mobile ticket for my daily commute to work when I choose the Virgin train only option. For the last 3 weeks this has changed. I now need to collect paper tickets from the station for this route instead. This defeats the purpose of the app. Also, infuriating, the higher cost "any train" route is available as a mobile ticket. I don't understand the change at all. I also know for a fact that I'm not the only one. My colleagues who also commute are experiencing the same problem.

First use and hit several problems. 'My tickets' doesn't list the time the train is booked for, when attempt a train time search it errors. And why on earth does it ask me to confirm if I want to leave the page every single time i use the in app back button?! I'm not in the middle of a transaction and there's no option to not display message again.

This is a decent enough app - I use it regularly for trips to London and around the West Midlands. There are some things I'd like to see fixed. Main one is that if you book a ticket with a seat reservation, the seat details are buried halfway down the page in small type. It would be better if that important information was part of the key ticket details at the top.. The second is that it would be great if there was one button through to your current journey. Particularly if you use the barcode to go through the gates, that you have to find the relevant booking and then go to the barcode page. I don't like the way on the front screen it tells me how many tickets I have - currently 16 - but all of them are expired. I understand you might want to go an look at expired tickets, but that shouldn't be a prominent feature. I appear to be able to delete some but not all, but can only do that one-by-one. And they are listed oldest first I understand that some people may want to move tickets from one device to another, but the prominence given to this feature seems to me to outweigh how many people actually use it. I don't understand the point of Journey Manager.

Worst app ever. Tried it three times couldn't download my ticket every single time. When I contacted the customer service they were only allowed to say uninstall and reinstall the app which of course didn't work. When asked to change to printed ticket I was told not to waste their time !!!!!!!

Far too basic. I can no longer use this app due to the search not showing all of the trains available. Also it's not possible to "amend" a search and have to start from scratch. Desperately needs updating . Looks like it was designed 10 years ago

Clean, easy to use, no adverts, no booking fees, no credit card fees. Great to find the best route and the cheapest fare. Suitable for the whole rail network, not just Virgin. Faults: 1) View valid inbound trains on return tickets shows outbound trains. 2) The home screen icons confusingly have the labels on top. 3) Annoying unnecessary prompts to confirm every time you go back to previous screen.

Complete waste of time trying to access my account. Keeps saying cant access east coast from here. Tickets booked from Liverpool to London so clearly not east coast.

This app is great until you need to use a different device, transfer tickets to a friend or if you break your phone. The basic functionality works well, but the edge cases are really poorly thought through with even the mobile support team not being able resolve these.

The app provides the option to collect nectar points, it is ashame that non of the points are ever credited to your nectar account. Check as soon as possible as Nectar will make it impossible for you to redeem at a later stage and accept no responsibility for the failing of the App

Despite having an active booking showing online, this app will not link to it using the exact same email and password. No one seems to care on the support team. Better off using online portal instead of this bug ridden app.

Have used the app for a few years and never had a problem with it. Now I've changed my phone (to Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge) and the app no longer recognises my login. Frustrating, and have spent hours trying and trying to login and checking in login details. Have just tried again. I can still login on my old phone, but not on my new one. Will use Red Spotted Hanky until someone tells me how to resolve this issue.
