Still haven't managed to actually watch anything via the app. If I'm in the house I have the tv. If I'm out of the house I haven't yet found a show I can download (including virgin exclusives) to watch on the move where wifi isn't available (most places). For what I'm paying I expect a certain level of functionality for catch up services which neither the TiVo box nor the app supply. The only good thing being provided by virgin is the broadband. And I'm starting to wonder if that's worth this level of crappiness in their other products.

Update 20th May 17 - why the hell do I need to log in every time I open it There are a number of elements which frustrate me. TVGuide is slow a laborious to us, if you press back it forgets what time you were on and then you have to go back to the time in the future you specified. Highly annoying. What ever happened to gestures and making an interface simple and use

S70%
by S####:

What's the point of having this app when you can't even watch your tv package for e.g movies they can't play on phone everything works apart from certain channels this is a bit disappointing as I've paid for a tv package this app states TV ANYWHERE well I can't watch what I'm paying for. Please allow to play movies on phones otherwise this app is completely no use to me

I am on my home wifi and it tells me i am not on the same network!!!! And with my iPad too?? Very poor i was told by virgin that is better then Netflix! Sorry netfilx is king and 6 users on one account were virgin is 2? Money talks and BS walks So when my contract comes to a end bye bye TV No Were

S70%
by S####:

Not all channels are available on the app, some just not available, BBC makes you go to iPlayer. When you pick some channels the playback is patchy with green screening and audio loss. Sound sync is terrible, I have just listened to a whole persil add while watching a sky TV add. Unusable. VM, you need to do better and the app ratings show it.

by S####:

Update dated 20/4/17 now allows me to use the app again on my phone's internal memory. However, the app will NOT work on the the external memory (SD card), as it used to, two updates ago. It appears to me that each update solves one problem, just to replace it with ANOTHER problem. Please work on this SD card compatibility, as it DOES save on the phone's internal memory.

Terrible app, for an expensive cable channel this is really bad. Episode guide, why no compact grid. Trying to watch anything on a tablet forget it - TV only option on same wifi network! The app as other reviewers pointed out only good for setting programme records.

S70%
by S####:

Still long way to go, cant download and watch on the go. Streaming doesn't work for recorded shows or on 4g or in cafes. Goto SKY people these guys are clueless. You need a v6 box to do what sky can do using the app its a basic feature u get with sky :(

S70%
by S####:

Awful app that always asks me to synch my devices, which I do, which then doesn't do any good. Using this app I've managed to watch one live game of football in four years. Other than that it simply hasn't worked. Infuriating and awful on equal measure.

S70%
by S####:

Really like being able to use the app to launch any of my recorded shows straight on the TV. It's improved a lot in my opinion. You're never going to please everyone with all the features they want in an app, but it does everything I need it to, so far.

S70%
by S####:

No longer works after android os update. Crashes and constantly requires you to sign in. Such a poor effort. Richard Branson hang your beardy head in shame. Pay for the top spec package and get 1980s level of technology. Must try harder.

S70%
by S####:

Randomly can't log in. Also I turned off power to my TV and set top box to save power as I was going away to find out the app won't let you watch TV without the TiVo box on and connected to the internet. The left/right arrows in the guide are too small and are hard to hit.

S70%
by S####:

You've had this app for quite a while now...so can be considered 'established'... so WHY are we STILL unable to stream via 4G???? Your Main and Largest competitor "Sky" has Always had the capability to use 4G on their Sky go app.. they are your competitors!!! Whom you SHOULD be 'COMPETING' against... Not only are you NOT Competing against them you are letting your customers down!! Have come to the realisation you Actually Don't care!! Are Sky REALLY that much more better than You!??!

S70%
by S####:

This is probably the worst app I have come across. You always have to log in even if you've moved away from it for the shortest of time. It is now impossible to use on my phone as I can't log in at all. Even doing a complete uninstall and reinstall doesn't fix it.

S70%
by S####:

Dreadful product. Only seems to (vaguely) work on phone. Running on tablet - fails to login - just hangs - Used to work. Ridiculous complex login process using images that are too small to decipher. Even on phone where it works, it is incredibly slow. Probably the worst app I have on android.

Y70%
by Y####:

This app is garbage! I've finally given up on it after trying to watch yet another football match that constantly sticks and freezes. It's touch and go whether it actually works half the time. Sums virgin media up pretty well tbh.

Z70%
by Z####:

Why does live TV work sometimes and then doesn't, even when there hasn't been a software change or upgrade. I really need a reliable service from Virgin this month in particular for access to BT Sport for the Americas Cup, and so far Virgin's service has been terrible. Please get this fixed ASAP, or at least, give some explanation as to what is causing the problems.

S70%
by S####:

App keeps crashing since last update and only way to resolve is to unintelligent and reinstall. as with everything virgin media it is a poor relation to Sky. each app update seems to cause more issues than it resolves. really can't wait until my contract is up so I can revert to Sky. not only can you use the skyq app to watch over 3g/4g but you can now watch out of the country too. Virgin you really need to get you're act together

Total GARBAGE! I'm a fully-subscribed VM TV, internet and mobile phone user,(not this one), but, after installing this App, logging in and trying to use it, I couldn't. When I tried to watch TV on my phone, (at home), I was told that I needed to "Register" my phone first. OK, so I tried to do that, but EVERY time I did, a pop-up message kept repeating the phrase, "Access Denied". I have enough problems with VM as it is, and I don't need this! It is really no wonder that VM and it's so-called "Customer Services" has huge amounts of complaints and dissatisfied customers! Have uninstalled this rubbish.

G70%
by G####:

Terrible app. Keeps freezing every 30 seconds, making it impossible to watch anything! And it's not virgin anywhere. It's virgin at home! Can't watch programmes unless you are on the same WiFi! May consider going to sky as virgin don't seem to care about customers.

L70%
by L####:

It's not Virgin TV anywhere. It's Virgin TV in your own house, using your own wifi. There are so many shows that can't be watched live, some only work on tablet, some on phones. Don't even get me started on the app not being helpful and going to the last episode of the boxset you were watching. Please look at Netflix and Prime for how to make a great streaming app.

Z70%
by Z####:

I've had sky for years, no problem watching anything on my tablet, moved house and have gone with Virgin, getting used to the TiVo box now, prefer Sky's set up though but the Virginia anywhere is very annoying. Keeps saying I can't watch that channel on my tablet even though I've spent ages trying to set it up to do so. Have uninstalled app can't be bothered with it.

S70%
by S####:

Absolute rubbish since the update I cannot get it to work a total waste of time. Whats with this remove a nd register one device a month? I pay a subscription to Virgin and have done for many years. Don't bother with this useless junk of an app!

Returned to virgin media from sky... app is still as useless as it was 4 years ago when i left. Hardly TV 'anywhere' if the application doesnt work on 3/4G. Get a grip Virgin Media, Sky are lightyears ahead in this regard.

Live TV streaming doesn't work with Nvidia Shield WiFi tablet, does not detect this is a tablet have to force it into landscape view, although the streaming and downloading from my shows does work ok. Would be 5 stars with the rest working as it should. Painfully slow, has to authenticate every time.

S70%
by S####:

Literally everytime I open the app, it crashes and sayin an error occurred. I then have to reinstall for it to work again. The link to sky sports never works, so you can't watch football on your phone unless it's on BT Sports. If it never crashed and all the links worked it woukd be a good app but because they don't and it crashes every single time, it's useless.

S70%
by S####:

No good on nougat Since upgrading my tablet's OS to Nougat it doesn't recognise I am on the same network . It is the same Virgin network on the latest hub and the same channel. It worked just fine before. Virgin know about it but no fix has been forthcoming.

D70%
by D####:

Will occasionally force you to sign back in when opening, this is very annoying and time consuming. Some of the channel logos on the guide are impossibly small making it very difficult to work out what channel you are looking at. When you are watching one of the few streaming channels you frequently get a problem streaming message and have to come out and go back in. Sadly most of the negative reviews are accurate. Very frustrating app.

O70%
by O####:

1 star as I managed to log in and the app looks nice and the TV guide looks nicely laid out. But that's it.. nothing plays, no options to play anything.. tried registering my devices and never get asked to. Tried using the settings page to register device but always comes up with an error saying option is unavailable. Seems I'm not only one of many to have lots of problems. Seems no known solution to these problems. Pff.

S70%
by S####:

Well its had updates and its still terrible. Fixed log in issue now on most streams the picture & audio aren't in sync so still unwatchable, catch up & box sets are awful too. Hardly anything to watch via the app, was led to believe it was a lot better than this. Just one issue after another.

S70%
by S####:

Have just upgraded to the new V6 box as it was sold to me that I could use the app to stream recordings. App won't connect and all I see are spinning circles and 'Trying to connect'. Spent over an hour on the phone trying to get support. Spoke to TV support who simply tried uninstall and reinstall, put on hold for 20 minutes to speak to broadband support who had no idea other than turn tablet, router and tv box off and on again. Transferred to TV support again after another 30 minutes on hold, who told me I should speak with Broadband support and they would transfer me, so gave up.

This is NOT "Tv Anywhere" as the name would have you think. You CANNOT watch tv at someone else's house. You CANNOT watch most, if not all, of the content on your phone regardless of where you are because of "copyright issues", even though I pay a yearly tv licence and a monthly subscription to virmin media. This app is "TV AT HOME ONLY" in a literal sense as you can only watch at home on your home network on your TV, NOT on your phone away from home as you are led to believe. I'm quite sure trading standards would cover this.. I'll drop them a note and see what's what. 1 star is fair for a misleading app name and description.

*** UPDATE *** Now cant set recordings via 4G, and app wont sign in when on home wifi......latest update has BROKEN previous working features - Great Work Virgin! App now works on Galaxy S7 (at very long last) Still not able to stream over 4G - why? Not really "TV Anywhere" is it!

S70%
by S####:

Absolute rubbish. Have to log in EVERY time, then have to log out and back in again because I can't select anything!? Why only in portrait when viewimg options/ guide? Streaming was fine, now stutters. Basic functions don't work and everything is limited. Waste of time.

Q70%
by Q####:

I've never managed to get anything download to watch offline. The few times I even get offered the option to download, all I get is "download failed error 48 : 3". Fargo and Agents of Shield. V6 on Ethernet, Honor 8 on WiFi. Same LAN of course.

S70%
by S####:

Could not watch anything on it, would only give you the option to watch on TV which if I was able to do that I wouldn't be using a so called "anywhere" app!! Worthless waste of time.

T70%
by T####:

Total waste of time. Can't even sign In - keeps telling me my email and/or password is incorrect even though I CAN sign into my online account !

O70%
by O####:

Completely Useless!!! Unless you need a tv guide and remote control maybe? What's the point of having so called TV Anywhere when you can only access it with WiFi? - in which case I would probably use my TV at home!! Get a grip Virgin and step into the modern world of 4G

S70%
by S####:

I still have to log in every time. Also, doesnt seem to stream over strong 4g signal. So much for TV anywhere! Ha. Also, the ugliest UI I've seen in an app for years. Just trash

S70%
by S####:

Spent about all sunday to try and wath just anything on the app but not much more then about a zillion times of signing in and restarts but no live tv to be seen so far... To me a real disappointment.. For now i will say it may be down to me as i am new to the (use of) the app. But it is definitely not particulary userfriendly to set up or use to watch live tv.... May be continued
