About Lust Pearls
The seamless fusion of pearls with inlaid with diamonds makes LUST a range of jewellery unlike any other seen in the world.
Buying the perfect pearl is an experience that can only be beaten by owning and wearing one! There is something which is hard to put into words about owning something as mesmerising, captivating and alluring as a pearl.
Perhaps it is the mystique surrounding pearls and how they are made, or it could be how we connect with our ancestors who adored pearls. Some were fortunate and could see and touch them up close; others could only admire them from afar being prevented, by laws and status, from owning them themselves.
Unlike gemstones produced deep inside the Earth, pearls are created by living creatures. Naturally occurring pearls are extremely rare with only one pearl found in every 10,000 molluscs.
The pearl is the oldest known gem, and for centuries it was considered the most valuable. Chinese records indicate that as far back as 2,300 BC, pearls were the prized possession, and gifts, of royalty.
Pearls have captured the hearts and minds of people for thousands of years. In ancient Rome, they were a highly prized accessory and worn as a symbol of wealth and prestige.
In the modern day, pearls still have an allure which is hard to deny. In 1969, Richard Burton purchased the La Peregrine pearl for his wife, Elizabeth Taylor. At the time he paid $37,000 for this rare beauty. She owned it until her death when it was sold for $11.8 million dollars by Christie’s in 2011.
There are many other pearls which have a similar star studded history.
