VW Car-Net Security & Service

The new app is so much cleaner and nicer than the old one. It also appears to be a lot faster too. As an e-Golf owner I love that it goes right to the battery stuff, and climate control is easier to use. Now if VW would just change the price. $200 per year for all the Carnet features is steep.

Spotty at best. Harps on you all day about your doors being unlocked in the garage or that rain of coming. The app loses your login info enough that it's easier to spawn a browser and use that than the app. The website is also SO much faster than the app whether your on WiFi or have great signal. I wanted to like it but it's just another QA failure...

The previous version of this was decent the ease of access made it useful. Now it is such a pain just to log in if you can even get in you're better off walking out to your car and seeing if it's locked. And don't try calling customer service the wait times are always crazy

Previous version allowed me to login. This version has broken login and the call center is clueless how to support us. $30,000 for a car $500 for 3 years and the app developed are not able to get you working. 4 days later, an hour on the phone, transferred to different departments. VW has screwed this upgrade up. Still no confirmation email but they have emailed me to tell me about the new app.

I really love its supported on apple watch; however, it's inconsistent. Most of the time it asks me to login through my phone first. What's the use of the apple watch feature if I have to use my phone first. I might as well use the app on my phone while I have it open. It completely defeats the purpose of compatibility. If it consistently works on my watch after entering the password, this could work wonders. For instance, I'd like to leave my phone and keys in my car while I go for a run. After returning, I could simply unlock it with my watch. I can't trust it enough to use it in that scenario. Please resolve this issue.

Lots of things lost in the last update. The ability to have a satellite images has been removed. Good luck in finding your car in a large parking lot. Good luck in confirming you are submitting the correct location to your navigation system. Random push notifications 10 minutes later.

Better than before. As the owner of two Jettas, the old app forced me to completely log out and renter vehicle info when switching between the two. This is much easier now. The only glitch is that you cannot rename the vehicles, so when I get a text message from "Jetta" saying "My doors are open" I don't know which car it came from.

Cannot add vehicle. Weekend support no help. Have to wait till Monday. Tried again Monday. Got handed off to chat line. Waste of time. Still does not allow me to add vehicle. Chat person referred problem to another tech and stated I would be contacted. It's 10 pm now and I have not received any contact. Car-Net product and service is garbage. System use to work before last update. Day 3: Still no contact from Car-Net and system still does not work. Day 4: Still no solution. 06/21/17 Still does not work. Customer service is useless.

Really like the new app. Nice and clean fresh update. Works great just wish you could do remote start and roll up Windows from the app. Too bad I have to sell my TDI back

I love that this app is available and that it offers all the information it does. What isn't working is : it sends me notification that my doors are unlocked, but when you log in to the app to lock the doors, the app indicates the car is secure (which I knew) the other issue is when you log in and type your password wrong it responds by saying the account doesn't exist. Wrong password and no account are two different things. Wrong account makes one think they have used the wrong email address.

Latest version lost remote lock/unlock capability. Messages sent to my phone are not viewable in the app and don't always show the full message under phone notifications which is the only place they can be viewed. This is extremely annoying when there is something you want to read. Tells me my doors are unlocked but can't lock the doors without going to the website to log on. The previous version was better, much better!

Hey VW can you please respond? Randomly logs you off. It seems like sessions only last a week or so. This forces you to type in your email address and password once a week. Additionally you ask for a PIN everytime you do anything in the app. Logging off the sessions after a week is really really dumb. It's forced me to change my password from a very long, secure one with a mixture of characters to a much less secure dictionary word. You need to understand how security and users intersect. Poor effort from the world's biggest car maker.

The previous version worked well. Version 3 will tell me if the car is locked and how much gas is in the tank. That's it. This version doesn't update my mileage as it should. This app is VERY expensive. It is definitely not worth the money.

Not sure why but it keeps logging me out of the app. Very frustrating. App needs major stability and reliability improvements

Nice looking, but not great working. Inconsistant data and erratic connections. Requirement to sign in at each use is a pain. Won't find my vehicle. Work needed to make it worthwhile and useful.

Cancelling subscription and getting hard earned money back. VW and their app developers are a joke. Brand loyalty, gone. Can't wait for my lease to expire.

I've only been using this for about a week and it's not always accurate. And for what you can do with the app, it's not worth the price. The battery info for the eGolf doesn't show you the state of charge, the percentage left on the battery, it estimates the remaining range. This isn't helpful, as it's a guess-o-meter. I can better estimate my range if I ha e the SOC. I'm disappointed.

Latest update times out while checking status of doors or windows. The new version spams you with alerts that say nothing more than "Golf GTI" I honestly dont know why I am paying for this.

3.0 update is much much better! UI is clean and simple as well. It was literally not usable previously (good thing I'm not paying it).

Multiple Instances of getting a notification that my doors are unlocked. I then have to go through a cumbersome authentication process (username, password and then a pin) only to learn my car was locked after all.

It will not let me sign on and told me that I do not have an Internet connection. I tried both wifi and 4G independently at multiple locations. I verified that I can browse on my phone and still no way to connect. Whoever worked on this app shouldn't be working on it.

Ok if it was free. However I will not pay for this thing nor do I suggest anyone paying for it. Has a bug that keeps notifying phone that doors are unlocked.

Version 3.0 is now usable except the vehicle health status is out of date and won't update or refresh.

Must sign in everytime, i open the app. Please update and fix bug. I love the cleaner look, but please fix so i dont have to login everytime i open the app.

Have to log in every time. Latest update will not refresh my car health no matter how many times I tap to refresh. I'm on a free trial, and there will have to be great improvements for me to purchase.

Whomever decided that it was a good idea to force a login each time should move on. This is a serious usability issue.

New app looks much better than older version, easy to navigate, has cool feature. Specially the push notification.

Bring back the old version, and now can't locate my car when parked OUTSIDE at work...

App still seems inconsistent. It doesn't work/connect every time. Estimated mileage is never right.

Not what I expected specially with the stiff price. Too much money for the little it does.

Why am I having to reenter my login information?

Takes a long time to lock or unlock the doors. Too long of a response time for something that simple.

Wish I could turn off notifications for everytime I unlock/lock my car door

Appears to be a pretty useless app.

Easy-to-use, Much faster than previous version.

It must have 'remember me' option!
