FamilyBase Companion

Added this to my account via managing my daughters phone. It sent an link to her Galaxy S5 verizion phone, and told her that the device isn't supported. So now I have to go through the pain in the butt process of removing the damn thing. I will also be filing a complaint with the attorney general Washington State as this is fraud.

We got baited and switched on this feature and had to call to have it removed from our plan. We got the basic smartphone and was told in the store the app could be used. However, we get home and because Marshmallow came with the devices, this app cannot be installed. SERIOUS problem that should have already been rectified. The developers really need to get on the ball and fix the problem.

Quite disappointed that the companion app won't work/install after Marshmallow update on my daughters phone. Although you can activate many features of FamilyBase through the web, you cannot lock the phone which is one big advantage of the Companion app. This needs to be updated for full functionality.

Landing page says everything you need to know.. "This app is incompatible with all of your devices" "Installed" What a piece of crap that I cannot uninstall. Error messages all the time. Total bloat crap. CRAP. CCRRAAPP

This app USED to work very well with my kids' Samsung S5 and now it doesn't. Not compatible it says.... Seriously?? The S5 is NOT an old and out of date device - keep up with the times please. Very dissatisfied for a service I PAY for!

This is completely useless. From what I've read, it hasn't worked since early versions of 5.0, and now we're on 7.0. How can Verizon keep advertising this as a great tool when you need at least a three year old phone to use it?

This app is fueling crazy mothers. Do I need to say anything else? Seriously, read the reviews "I'm trying to protect my child" quit protecting your child, let them live their life. If they aren't responsible enough to have a full blown cell phone DON'T BUY THEM ONE!!! It's not rocket science ladies.

You have to log in every time you change screens. Obviously no one from Verizon has ever tried to use it. To add a blocked number takes like 8 steps. Not user friendly at all. Verizon should be embarrassed to have their name on this.

I can see where IF you have kids this would be helpful...and needed. (For all you teens on here moaning about your parent "stalking you" on the phone they paid for and pay for every month, plus paying for you in general- get a job and your own account...then you have nothing to complain about.). For me - since my 2 pets don't have cell phones (no kids) I would love to remove something I don't use. Please stop putting crap on phones that DOES NOT APPLY TO EVEYONE!!!!

Wish I could give this 0 stars. This does not work with Marshmallow. Also, Verizon customer service doesn't have a clue. PLEASE resolve the issue!!!!

Very upset.....I love this app for one of my kids. However, other one got a Marshmallow update and can not even use. Seriously, I love this app if it worked for all my kids. being able to see the apps they download and new contacts is great!!!! you can also shut off their phone if you need to get their attention!!!! During the school year I completely shut it down over night. no wifi no fun!!!! its great. FIX UR CRAP VERIZON

I'm paying $5 a month specifically to monitor my kids phones to keep them safe from the crap that's out there and to keep them from staying up all night on them. Because one got an upgrade now it won't work. Won't work on my other's iPhone either even though when we got it they said it would! WTH Verizon tired of you taking all my money and not giving anything for it. You supposedly are the best network if that's true than fix it!!

We had this over a year ago. The lock feature can be overridden on the galaxy by putting phone in ultra power save mode. Informed both Verizon and the company that made the app about this problem. Just revisited it after over a year and they still haven't fixed the bug.....but they will be more than happy to keep charging u every month to use it

What the hell is this crap!? Why do y'all INSIST on putting apps, even useless apps such as this, on phones, without even asking the consumer if they want it!! AND then if we don't want them or find them useless, we can't even uninstall them!! #waytoomuchcontrol

Parental controls discontinued, locked bootloader, cannot edit hosts file, familybase controls has no option to block websites. Least of all incompatible with marshmellow! You sell me a feature that wont work with our phones! Im paying for it, give me what i want! Its as if you want youth to watch porn on their phones! Your about to lose me as a customer.this will be the straw that breaks the camels back.

This app is basically just a dashboard to view activity by family members in your plan. If you want to do anything - and I mean anything - constructive, such as changing data limits, etc., then it takes you to the very clunky Verizon mobile website. You have to sign in - again - and then wait, and wait, and wait... for each click to load. Frustrating!

I will not allow you to change the data usage options. What is the point in this app? I have to go to my laptop if I want to change and allow my daughter to have another gigabyte

As a childless woman, I neither want or need this app, and hitting the uninstall button does nothing but uninstall the latest update. The original bloatware remains, and I wish there were a way to opt out of these pre-installed apps without having to root my phone. I'd rather use my phone space for more music!

I used to love this app, BUT my son upgraded to a galaxy S7 and it does not work with his phone. I can no longer see his phone activity or set parameters for his usage that I can monitor. I believe it has to do with compatibility, but Verizon knew about this several months ago and still has not created an update to fix it. I am disappointed that the app no longer works. Maybe they will fix it in the next few weeks? :(

I literally don't think it's possible for me to hate Verizon more. I will be switching to T-Mobile in the near future. Don't invest too much in Verizon's trash because they aren't even the fastest network anymore. Rooting my Note 4 just to uninstall this trash.

I used to love this app. It was great as a parental control on both my daughter's LG G4 and my son's Samsung S4. Yet, when Verizon rolled out the Marshmallow update, it's worthless because they didn't bother updating the app to support Marshmallow. It's been a number of months since Marshmallow was rolled out to these devices, and no update yet? Ridiculous.

App is great for parents and takes same space as 1 photo. It can limit data use, monitor contacts (calls/texts) and monitor apps installed on your child's phone. This app goes on your child's phone so it really has no "function" but allows the parents to monitor the child's phone. Within the first week we found our child had installed an app disguised as a game but was an adult content chat room. We also were able to monitor when a school bully was sending her texts. Sure negative reviews are from kids.

My daughter has this Samsung s5 and it is saying that the device is not compatible with family base. Since when? This is one of the most popular phones and you can't use the features on the app I purchased it for. Fix it please

I HAVE kids and don't want it. Yet of course it's invasive and I can't uninstall it. To top it off it doesn't even seem to work. It doesn't do anything that I can telll anyway. What a joke.

I hate this app my dad got it on my phone cause he doesn't trust me so he got this app and now he can see all my messages and there's nothing wrong with any of them but he still chooses to use the app. Like what happened to our privacy, if he worried about what I do on it he can just look and read my phone look through it instead of an app cause like I said parents have no trust in children now.

My daughters phone OS upgraded to marshmallow and now I only get text and call info but can't control locking option or any other features. Hoping Verizon fixes the marshmallow issue soon.

Really pissed that I am paying for a service but now because of a stupid "upgrade" to marshmallow it is not compatible and am now unable to use the features of Family Base. Fix you apps Verizon or atleast create a new one that is compatible! Loved the app and all the features of it before the "upgrade" that is really more of a downgrade in my opinion!

Keeps glitching and not working on if lg g3 can't reinstall to correct issues... S t I'm at a stand still and not linking to parent app on another g3. Still issues and then fails to connect with parent app, plus child can get aroun with headphones or fb messenger pop up bubnle

Angry b cuz verizon didn't say it isn't compatible with Android Marshmallow which is on the Samsung Galaxy S6. It costs money for the app monthly. So when my son gets his new phone. He too will not have the companion app working. Awful Awful! !

Whomever crapped this out at vzw should be fired. What's the point of having an app to monitor and control your accounts when it doesn't work and is very user unfriendly. Way to go Verizon...

This application is ridiculous. I don't need it consuming space on my device. I should have the option to remove it.

Oh look. Another useless uninstallable default app that forces itself upon my phone, taking up space. I didn't even give permission to install it but I leave my phone alone with a wifi connection for 5 minutes and "poof", there it is.

My mom downloaded this to "watch" what im doing allthis does is take up space on MY cell phone and my brand new phone is lagging so much because of this dumb app

I hate any app I cannot uninstall. This does not even have a description of what it does. So some poor developer spent time creating it, Verizon forces us to have it (on MY phone) and no one likes it. How long does it take to create a description like 30 seconds?.

Whatever it is ... It's OK to me. Just long as you're not hogging that much space and not being used for any reason I'd keep it.

Another app I can't delete and takes up space I could use for things I want...you know on MY phone.
