Verizon Cloud for Android
Useful app for backing up information saving pictures and things. Needs to have a better setup process. I don't want everything backed up automatically before I get a chance to set anything up
Now with naggy ads! I guess Verizon doesn't suck enough money out of us because this app annoys you you order pictures constantly.
This app has decent potential but the fact that I can't edit my own contacts either in the cloud or on my phone because it's in the cloud pissed me off, I almost broke up with verizon.
The WORST cloud service out there. Do not download the app to your computer, or you'll have to restore your computer to get rid of it. Customer support is awful & consists of a script read, telling the user what a wonderful product Verizon offers. In addition, you never know what the names of your files are & their cloud technician actually told that it is hardly necessary. "Don't you know what your files are," he moronically asked me. The worst is you can't download your own files without a server error, which the tech wanted to argue with me & tell me it's my internet service. Folks, forget about Verizon Cloud - they don't know how to run a company & will most definitely fail. So, don't spend any money on their service. My best guess is it's being run by some money hungry crook in Nigeria. If it's on your phone, immediately disable it and uninstall it. My malware detector even indicated it was malicious spyware. Do yourself a favor & look into Dropbox. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VERIZON CLOUD AT ALL.
I love this app as compared to the normal messaging app. However, today it started glitching, it is not showing my last sent message or the person's response. HELP!
This is Verizon bloatware that didn't ask for and didn't ask to use. Get it still is automatically backing up my stuff even though I didn't ask for it to do and now trying to get me to pay for it to increase my storage even though and I cannot stress this enough I never asked it to do anything
I've read a lot of comments that said the cloud stopped working. You may have to UNINSTALL it & REINSTALL it, that's what I had to do & it works just fine now.
I have un-selected music to back up, but I cannot delete the music that is currently in my cloud because "There is no data connection". Even though I so have a data connection and connected to wi-fi. Please fix this.
The features in the app that I've used are easy and fun . I don't know yet what all is available. Being able to order prints and wall art and various other personalized items is great for last minute gifts as you can pickup the same or next day.
It's all good. I done find anything to complain about! After all it's mostly free!
Backup first time is fussy. Restore is not straight forward. But it's good to have backup.
Typical Verizon, they might cost a little more then competition but you STILL get more then you pay for! The app keeps everything in line and even keeps a "shadow copy" of most important contacts and settings!
PO'd. I've been having a problem with my cloud for a week. I can see my contacts when I log in on the computer but can't see them in the app.
Great CLOUD service. I'm amazed at how much I've relied on this service. I don't fear doing a Factory Reset knowing my important info will be on my phone again.
Love it. Backed up all my pictures and transferred them to my new phone when my other one died on me.
Was fixed for a few months. Now again it won't let you delete or upload pictures. Says there is no connection but my connection is fine and works with all other apps so it's not my phone, it is the app. They keep responding to everyone saying make sure you have a reliable wireless connection. We all do. With this many people complaining of the same problem take the hint. It's not our connection, it's your terrible app.
Destroys my battery with the automatic daily backup. I keep canceling the backup, but I didn't this morning just to see how much it would suck. Went from 100% to 40% in 2 hours. First, why does the backup (not much changed as far as pictures, texts and calls from the last backup) take over 2 hours. Second, how can it draw this much power? I hate this forced app.
Only 5 gigs storage and it won't let me delete ANYTHING. I have old pictures of my ex I've tried to delete 10 times. First it says deleted, but then the files still show up. THEN I try to delete ALL of my files and it keep giving me error notifications. It feels like Verizon is keeping my files hostage. I have them saved on Google cause it's 15 gigs for FREE, I just want them out of the cloud. Buggy, annoying notifications trying to get me to spend more money on storage I don't want or need.
This app started pushing ad notifications to my phone. NO, I do not want to buy prints of photos from Verizon. I called verizon support, the only option is to disable all notifications, including relevant back up messages. Verizon is already the most expensive phone company in the world. Juzt stop.
The worst cloud ever. Does not work well at all. The whole app is not straightforward at all. It should be simple but you have to jump through so many hoops to jump back up your images then it doesn't even back up half of them. Such a bad app
Lately this year, it doesn't save all of my content like I thought. Would really need all of my pictures, contacts, and music to save on my Cloud whenever I decide to get a new phone. But NO, I always get a "service temporarily unavailable" message everytime the Cloud is suppose to back up my content. If I complain to Verizon customer service, they'll only tell me that I dont have the updated internet for to use Cloud. How the hell I'm suppose to update my internet on a phone? I'll just use a memory Card next time cause this doesnt make sense.
This saved my sanity. I thought I lost all of my daughter's firsts, 1st steps, birthday, Christmas,... My phone broke and we couldn't download all the pics and videos from my Google account. Thanks to the Verizon Cloud I have everything back safe and sound.
It literally takes me 10 min to download a picture back onto my phone. That's unacceptable. Organizing the pics arms impossible and the website is just as bad. I have multiples of a ton of pics and I don't know why. I try to delete them to make room and to make going thru them easier but it's a losing battle. Verizon needs to work on this program.
5 GB of storage. REALLY??? I am paying through the nose for Verizon service and that's all they'll give up? Then they bomb your phone with "almost out of space" messages trying to get you to PAY for additional storage. Shove it Verizon! I get 15 GB FREE from Google. I don't need you to rape me!
Annoying when it's full, constantly get notifications to buy more space...once is enough! I don't want to give Verizon any more of my money, it costs enough just for cell plan! The actual cost of providing cell service vs. what they charge us...imagine the money they are making off of us!
The Verizon Cloud app has started to give me offers for gifts. I can't find a way to disable the offers. I don't want a service that I pay for to keep giving me annoying offers to spend more money. There should be a setting in the app to disable all advertisements.
Another item forced upon me with no option to remove. It might be wonderful but I would prefer to know what life is like without it. Hell, I don't even know what it does. I do know it wants a lot of scary permissions but then with one of these phones we have no privacy anyway.
Google Drive gives me 15 GBs for free. Doesn't send ad notifications for garbage services to my phone. And I don't pay them a dime. The Verizon cloud app is the opposite of the 3 points I just made. Garbage.
I gave it 2 Stars which is 1 more than I wanted to because it does save everything to your cloud. The problem is it saves every single solitary picture & when you go to delete it, well good luck on that one. If you go to Cloud & look for instructions on how to delete old pics, it doesn't just say delete here. I still haven't figured out what the heck you have to do to get them deleted & I've been trying for months. Getting ready to call Verizon. But it stores so many pics that you WILL completely run out of Cloud space and then they hit you up constantly to buy more.
I appreciate the cloud service. The only problem I have with it is that even though I have 5% left it gives me constant messages that I need to upgrade. I'm pretty tired of this message and I cannot get rid of it in my notifications unless I hit remind me.(Temporary relief)
Still Buggy. Very difficult to manage my files, especially when trying to delete photos. Deleting files is almost never successful for many files. It's almost useless in that regard (file not found error). Has been that way through all updates. [Galaxy S6 Nougat]
Love having the storage! And it's cheap for a heck of a lot of extra storage! $2.99 for 250 GB and only $9.99 for 1TB of storage! Can't beat that! Not when you have little ones running around that you have to capture moments of all day each and every day and save them all! Thanks Verizon for the awesome work!
I like the new look and the newest features on Vzn cloud. Works for me. What can I say for free storage other than Thank You! I love my Verizon. Plus cute video. I giggled
Made the mistake of relying on this app to correctly backup and restore on two devices now. First time it lost EVERYTHING. This time around it "restored" EVERYTHING into my Downloads folder instead of their original locations. Now I get to sift through 1000's of media files and try to organize them again. Never using this app again.
I have Verizon so I also have the cloud. When I switched phones a couple years ago I wound up loosing over 2,000 pictures. Some we're my mama & daddy who are now in Heaven. It broke my heart! I now have another 'cloud' to also back up !y photos along with Google and Facebook. If not for Facebook I never would have seen a lot of my pictures again! Verizon needs more work on their 'cloud'.
One of the permissions it requires is PHONE NUMBER ACCESS which allows The Cloud to "Make and manage phone calls." I REFUSE TO GIVE THIS APP THE ABILITY TO MAKE AND MANAGE PHONE CALLS
It's ok, It does it's job. Only issue I have I have is that one must have "Data" activated/on in order to access voicemail. I don't understand. If phone calls can be made without data on, I should be able to access my voicemails it on as well. Or at least have it optioned in Wi-Fi mode. I leave my Data of until I need it to access internet. Which is quite rarely. I shouldn't be made to turn it on everytime someone leaves a message.
Since the new system update can't get on there. When I do it says it's empty, but my memory is full or says "cloud performance optimization initializing. For the pst 4 days now. Had over 1500 pics and important things in there. Finally got mostly everything back. It took me going on my old phone and finding them from there. Took a few days but I'm glad I got most of it back. Would have it all but ran out of space.
Attempting to manage the used storage and it repeatedly cannot connect even though I have Wi-Fi connected and good service. Not very helpful!

Never authorized this app to take any actions, it is malware. Deleted content from my SD card when I wouldn't pay for more storage.
