Vaillant vSMART Control

Easy to set up and use. Very effective control to improve efficiency of Vaillant boilers. I am using a combi so water programme not an issue to me. I am sure that this will save money. Can't fault it so far.

Problems with the end of British Summertime, Scheduled programme unable to adjust to the time change and showing the wrong date 24/10, when it is actually the 30/10..... Please fix ASAP as this is a fantastic App. Crashed again with the beginning of BST, 26/03 very poor service no reply at all.........

It forces you to use set day plans. i just wanted the simple option of turning the boiler on and off by setting a manual temprature you can do this but it then resets its self to the day plans after 12 hours and since my job the shift times always change the day plans you set are pointless!

This has not been tested. It does not meet adequate standards. I often leave house unattended for week or two so this seemed ideal. First time I left I returned to find house colder inside than out. For no particular reason it had defaulted to frostmode. I continually get a prompt about gateway to server. I have tried app uninstall/reinstall. I have moved thermostat to differing rooms. As this is new the installer of my new boiler is still in the dark. If Vaillant do not sort this asap I will remove it.

Constantly loses WiFi connectivity and will not auto-reconnect which means you manually have to set it up again- which means this is more labour intensive than my old manual thermostat. Vaillant make great boilers but this product is a utter pants. Don't waste your money.

The app could be much improved, in the following ways, for clarity and for better control and optimization of the heating system: -Possibility to choose what heating parameter to display in the graphs. For instance I would like to be able to plot outside temperature, output and return water temperature. In fact one should be able to display all the diagnotic information/parameters from the heater. The ability to save as a text file would be a strong plus. -Unclear how to re-initialize the initial learning of the heater and whether or not the heating curve is adjusting or not. My thermostat was installed in the summer and without internet so I doubt the learning of the house insulation, etc. is accurate. Heater constatntly overshoots. I'm not sure how to start over the initial learning period. -It is actually possible to dissociate the scheduling of heating and hot water by building multiple profiles of temperature settings and hot water settings. But it is true that it would be easier to have access to -Scheduling: when making the schedule, there is a bug and the current day keeps switching to the monday. It's annoying.

I keep getting a message to say that their server isn't working and can only put my heating on via the little thermostat in the house. We will be getting rid of this and getting hive. I should have realised before this was installed that it was rubbish.

Absolutely pants. Controller will simply not connect to the Internet. I have even port forwarded on my bthub 5! Managed to get it to connect once but otherwise it always fails to sync with a server error. Valliant techs came for 3 days and spent hours on it to no avail. Returned the unit and installed Nest instead. Worked straight away. Honestly, don't buy Valliant thermostat and controller.

You programme it. Nothing. It's a waste of time. Utter rubbish.

No separate hot water timing, if looses WiFi, have to set up again, doesn't search itself like my phone does, on my android tablet can't access settings says v smart has stopped working, tried reinstalling several times

Needs separate schedule for hot water. Geofencing would be nice.

It is a very basic application, not up to the 350€ I have paid for the eRelax Set. Programming of schdules is not independent for heating and hot water. Schdule programming is very basic and not comfortable at all. Outside temperature influence cannot be swiched off. Data is taken from DWD only, my Outside Temp. Sensor is completely ignored. Real outside temp. varies pretty much from DWD data in our place, thus the System selects a wrong heating curve and wastes energy. Not happy with it!

It's annoying that you can't separate hot water and heating operation, meaning you're potentially keeping hot water heated when you have no intention of using it. I'd like to see geofencing, whereby the system switches on/off based on occupants' mobile phone locations. Surely easy to fix?

Just uninsulated two of these units I have fitted , and I'll be taking the unit out of my own house. This would be a good unit but the main problem is that you cannot override the weather control. There are several reasons you would want to be able to do this . but if you want the heating on and it's warm according to weather forecasts your out of luck

Updated this and now I can't access the timer?? Resolve asap thank u
