Auto App Organizer free for Android
great app...when it works. But I seem to have a recurring issue where it won't start some apps anymore. When I click the shortcut, I get a quick toaster message that says "App information refreshed"; but the app being clicked doesn't start. The apps are there, as I can start them from my launchers list of all installed apps. And I've tried refreshing the installed apps from with the AutoAppOrganizer program, but that does not help at all. The only way to fix the issue is to completely uninstall and reinstall the apps that lose their settings. This wouldn't be so bad if it was rare, but I have to reinstall quite a lot of apps constantly to deal with this bug. VERY ANNOYING.
Didn't think this would be an app I would find useful. I was wrong. LOVE IT!! FUN, INFORMATIVE AND COOL!! Take it out for a test drive. It does as described
I just recently installed this app so im still a little unfamiliar, but Im using it and so far it seems to be exactly what I needed. I have alot of apps so I really needed some organization Thank you very much
At first I thought it was great, but it gets the tags wrong far too often and ends up being a hindrance. Still, if the dev got some help classifying things (requires internet to access tags) then it could be great.
but I found it incomprehensible: The options are idiosyncratic, unorganized, and poorly described. There is no adequate user documentation. I gave it two days and finally gave up. I'm a software engineer with decades of experience, which shouldn't be the problem but it's possible my expectations got in the way of my understanding.
This is very good as an alternative app drawer for setting up a multi-level hierarchy of folders in which to categorize apps. I have around 500 apps, & this hierarchy lets me find any app easily.
you have saved me a lot of efforts!!! I've been looking for an app like this for more than 3 years!!! Many Many Many Thanks for making this awesome App.
I wanted this to organise all my apps so I don't have to keep dragging page after page.... But all this seems to do is give you a separate place to view apps.
It's too tedious if you have a lot of apps. The "auto" sort put everything into one folder and put itself in all of the folders. The only way I could make it work was to label each app individually, and that takes too much time. I was hoping it would be able to auto sort most of the apps and I could just fix a few misplaced apps, but it didn't work for me.
This app is one of the most useful apps I have ever downloaded. It's simple to use. It's so nice to have everything categorized and be able to make categories on your own. You don't have to clutter your phone with all the icons of every app you install or sit there making folders manually. This app will categorize and then let you add the categorized folders to your home screen. Make sure you get this app. It is a definite must have
Love it. Has all the tools I need in a compact footprint. Wish it had a nicer style. I tried to not use it after a phone restore-to-factory, but this is really necessary, and the best and most flexible app. No list apps; every app is *somewhere*. Lots of control. I workaround the ugliness one way or another.
I'm going to uninstall it. It was a little difficult to figure out when trying to use it, then it stopped working many times and crashed. Also it has ads with it, which I didn't want/expect ; (

I've had it since my first Android phone and now the app isn't keeping up with the apps I've installed. They don't even show up in the lost with the rest. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
Long-time user. Don't know what I'd do without it. One suggestion is that folder sort-order be easier to set, and once set, it should have an option to auto-sort after that.
I really like this app a lot. Had lots of features and auto-organizes well. Main issue for my Samsung s5 is that the shortcut icons do not persist beyond a system restart. After phone restart icons return to gray default. This can be corrected by starting the app, long pressing the desired grouping and selecting Shortcut. Tedious at best if you have a lot of groups.
Had to use lucky patcher on it to remove the adds now its a lot better with out them dumb adds
Auto App Organizer (along with SwipPad and Nova Launcher) are the "must have" apps I use. Auto App Organizer is also more than just an organizer - if you haven't done so, read the help section to learn how to backup, restore and transfer your apps.
Great tool to organize MY apps!
That auto categories are not very useful or accurate. Something that crowd sourced the data would be a better idea.
can't find any info on how to create my own categories
I've been using Auto App Organizer since 2011!! This is one of the very first apps I download whenever I buy a new device. I just got my 4th Android so it's on again!! LG STYLO~
This app is on my phone and on both tablets. I find that it saves me time and effort. Excellent job, dev!
I am working to set up all my apps using this. It will make it easier to restore my phone once I have to wipe it clean again. I would give it 5 stars if hey figure out a desktop interface as well to make it faster to organize apps (iTunes like)
I've used this app for ages. It automatically organizes your apps, but also has the most flexibility for sorting apps manually. You can customize almost every aspect of the folders appearance. You see what apps are recently downloaded, it shows how long it's been since being used. You can back up your apks, and move apps to the sd card if your phone allows it. I've looked at others always come back to this one. I'd love to see an updated layout, it's a little dated.
Performed exactly as I'd expected unlike others
I'm very happy and excited. Thanks jus what I been looking for.
This is an excellent alternative to Folder Organizer for setting up a multi-level hierarchy of folders in which to categorize apps. I have around 500 apps, & this hierarchy lets me find any app easily. Further, the developer is very prompt is replying to emails. I am in the process of migrating my apps from Folder Organizer into Auto App Organizer.
I would love it if it was possible to remove subfolders? I got some somehow, but can't remove them which is annoying me. That said, my phone is now more organised than ever! Love that the categories are customable
From its description, I believe this may be a good app, but during my setup, it seemed to limit the amount of "folders" I could create. That limitation has made it completely "useless" to me. Have not decided yet, but am considering uninstalling the app.
Great App but needs ability to write backups to sdcard I have been using this app for years and have bought the pro version. It is superb now that I have categorised all my apps the way I want them. Just one thing though - the ability to write backups to the sdcard should be implemented. This should now be possible by the app creating its own folder in sdcard/android/data and writing to that. Please consider this for future development. Edit: Thanks for reply, but AAO has no permission to write to sd.
Extremely cumbersome and very hard to configure, this app is useful but can give you big headaches. It's so complicated, that it becomes useless. I will look for something else.
This is a good app that tries really hard to do a bit too much. Designers have done a good job giving us more than we probably wanted resulting in an increased effort level. Not that it won't do a good job organizing apps and media. You just have to work to make it do that.
Great app!! Really useful once you figure out how to set things up as this can initially be a bit confusing e.g. setting custom icons.

Helpful and readily available but not in the way. Well designed
Well thought out and done well. Easy and flexible. Nice job
Absolutely incredible and keeps getting better! Dev is very responsive. Don't waste ur time on any others.
Does it use Google play store categorisation? I think not, rather some internet database. It should auto categorise more than it does. Also, it doesn't seem to have icon pack support although custom icons can be applied to folders. EDIT: used it a little longer and it works well. Would like folders to open quicker when clicked on home screen. I'd like the icons within these folders to have icon pack support.

I like this app because it legs me rename stuff on my home screen and pick new icons, but every time it updates all my apps get screwed up and I have to redo them. EDIT: got a different launcher as recommended and now it's perfect :) rating changed to 5 stars!
