About Japanese Flashcards Lite

Flashcard is a simple yet very effective method to learn a language.

This application is an enhanced flashcard tool based on the research by Hermann Ebbinghaus. Each word is classified into different familiarity levels, starting from level 0 (not started) until 5 (mastered).

If you know the word, click the tick icon and it will not be shown for a longer time. If not, click the cross icon and it will be shown again for a shorter time. Or if you only vaguely remember the word, click the question mark and it will remain at the current level.

You will be reminded when words need to be reviewed. Keep working until all words reach the highest level!

The Lite pack contains the following decks:
- Hiragana basic
- Katakana basic

Needs to have a random flashcard choice

R70%
by R####:

Some mistakes. In hirigana, there are two "ro" (ろ) and no "ri"(り), so it makes me curious if there are other simple mistakes like this, as there really is no excuse to mess up basic syllabaries.

The hiragana pack has some mistakes in the alphabet and so does the katakana

It is nice that it is in Japanese and not romanji. However there is nothing here you cannot get for free. Anki will give you all the minna no nihongo vocabulary free of charge as will others. As you were asking for money for the rest of the vocabulary i was at least expecting audio or pictures or just any think that would make it worth paying for. However all there is is Japanese on one side and English on the other. Uninstalled.

F70%
by F####:

1. Needs re-test of wrong words answered quiz. Organize "X" and allow re-test of them. 2. Needs to allow user setting of how many questions on quiz. 3. JLPT has grammar, so needs Grammar category. 4. Audio would definitely be a value add. The real JLPT has an audio/listening section.

... but for a simple, no hassle, turnkey solution to getting up and start studying with no apparently learning curve, it's a good choice. For 100 yen just download and start - that's worth something right there.

Love this app. I studied beginners Japanese at school 15 yrs ago and flash cards was best way to learn then. This is an electronic version which wotks exactly the same. Would suggest turning charachters into a picture very helpful but not essential. Great app, thanks.

Decent, but flawed (like others are) 1.
