I try to count the amount of words in my Wattpad chapter, book titled "Sidechick Issues" because I'm trying to have at least 5,000 words or more in each chapter, yet I can't even get to 2,000 on this lame app

I noticed that Wordcount gave a different result than an online word counter and discovered that this app counts contractions, hyphenated words, and any other word segmented by punctuation marks as multiple words. "Can't" counts as two words, "twenty-year-old" counts as three words, and so on. If this were fixed, Wordcount would be more useful.
