Davis's Drug Guide for Nurses for Android
I use this app instead of the book version while Im at work (instead of lugging the book around) for things like getting onset, peak and durations, actions of drugs, side effects...wonderful app in my experience.
It would have 5 stars from me if it was still free. I own the book but I liked the app because it made what you are looking for easier. The app should be free for those that purchased the book.
It is free for only a limited time before requiring you to pay. You will not be notified it is only a trial app, and suddenly you will be unable to use it without paying for it. A subscription, nonetheless.
Its a good drug book but after awhile it wants you to purchase it to continue looking up drugs ????
Must have for nursing students and licensed nurses. Everything you need to know in one place. This app makes writing drug cards and studying pharmacology a breeze.
Always it shows purchase ,it's not sufficient
It's a lot easier than skimming through my book to find drugs.
It's really the best drug guide app, I'm a student nurse and it helps me a great deal. I highly recommend it.
Great app for nursing students...I like the bookmark feature where I can bookmark the common drugs I administer in clinicals. It allows for easy access.
This is this is the book we use in nursing school and this app makes going through the book awesomely the tools that are included in the app are amazing thank you bye
Great tool for nursing students
So helpful while in nursing school
Great..
Awesome
Love it
This app is a must have for nursing school. It is great for quickly looking up most drugs though now and then the search doesn't recognize a drug that is in the paper book which seems kind of odd to me. My only complaint is the cost, I would expect the app to be another resource we could access after entering the code in our book rather than being a separate $40 charge each year.
So great! The only drawback is that as soon as your free subscription runs out you have to subscribe for a large fee. But during that time it is super convenient and the comprehensive search index is very helpful when needing to look up classes of drugs.
I love this app!! As a Nursing student, it could not be more helpful. My only complaint is that the search function does not always recognize generic names, even when they are spelled right. It's just odd. Butcother zwro complaints so far
Fantastic app. Not had any problems with it. When I switched phones my subscription followed. Only issue I've had is sometimes having to Google to figure out what drug I'm looking up because the app doesn't recognize it.
Saves you time from having to flip through the pages of the physical book, and has been absolutely amazing in and outside of nursing school/clinicals. Eventually you will have to pay for it, but it is beyond worth it, especially if you use it regularly. No sense in complaining about the price since it's an invaluable resource!
Worked until last upgrade. Could not use comprehensive search after that. Support did nothing. Had two good months on the app before it failed. Don't waste your money.
Only drawback to this app is when you purchase the book with online access, you have no way of using it to pay for app subscription. It simply asks you to pay again.
Well first of all, I didn't know you had to have a subscription in order to use it. It's pretty useless unless you subscirbe because you can't access the drug list, which is the primary reason for it. Second, when I did try and get a subscription by going to the "store", it gave me a message saying there weren't any products available. Uninstalling.
If one do not have an account that means there is nowhere that person can subscribe to your product. Think that is so bad.
It gives good information about drugs. It doesn't have advertisements in the app. It has just about all information from the drug guide book, so this makes it convenient to use wherever. I wish it were free of charge.
Easy name search for any med. Makes my nursing school ppwk a breeze to type bc I've got med on phone while using laptop and so much faster than book, plus I get updates. Easy on the go reference in clinical that's faster than unit medex computer.
It's a free trial, then $40 per year to use. Instead, if you already have the textbook, just bookmark the online website included in your book and pin it to your homescreen. Same thing, but actually free.
Bought in nursing school, expected when buying a $40 app they wouldn't just pull use of it away. Now it is $40/year. The recent update crashes occasionally. Uninstalled after almost 5 years of occasional use.
I bought this app years ago, now I can't use it bc it wants me to buy it again. Would have given it 5 stars had they not changed it on me. I agreed to a one time fee when I bought it and now I can't use what I bought. At least let me keep the old version I paid for it!
Love to have the info at the tip of my fingertips! Easy to navigate, compared to epocrates, At least for me. Still missing some meds that are compounded but popular, among others... catch up davis! Lol otherwise, great app.
I love the app, it is very helpful, it has medications that I can't find on the paperback Davids book. The only down side is that the app has been showing a message that I have 18 days left, so I guess it won't be free after 18 days. Even though I love the app I won't pay for it if it is not free.
Very informative, I use this for PsychTech program. I like the short, concise paragraphs that thoroughly explain without being too overbearing with scientific terminology and jargon.
Easy to use and search all drugs by name when using 'Comprehensive Index' tab, not 'Classifications' tab. Have no problems using in Android on Google Pixel XL. Great for patient's drug review for Pre-Op assessment.
Don't buy. Once the subscription runs out, you will not have access to the text. again, don't purchase unless you plan on renewing....
This stays open on my phone for my entire 12 hour nursing shift, great reference when you need one quickly.
Very helpful
It won't even download. Zero stars. Worthless.
After a month or so it asks you to pay. As someone who paid for the book, I feel as if I shouldn't have to pay for the app. Especially as a poor nursing student.
Was free, now on annual subscription, already have a drug book, NO Thanks.

I'm currently in nursing school and this guide was recommended to me by one of my professors. It's super useful and user-friendly. I especially love that it's Canadian specific in drug names
