It's okay, but it would be loads better if it would sense when you are talking and not give you your partner's line until you stop talking.

I bought the app and it wouldn't even got installed on my phone, even though it clearly said it is the app for Android!

This great little app has helped me multiple times with auditions, although I do have two functionality requests that would make it better: if it allows me to put a scene on repeat and a way to play the entire dialogue in a scene without having to press the button to hear my dialogue. I'd imagine they would be most useful as toggles.

The sound recorder sound is extremely low and very hard to hear. I cant find any settings. Also, it is not intuitive and from what I can tell, it works simply as a voice recorder. I couldn't figure out how to get to operate as intended and there are no instructions or tutorial. And even if there were, the volume is too low to be of any use.

No instructions. No nothing. No multitasking button to hold down as a previous reply had indicated to do. Wish I could have found some way to use it. I honestly tried but it wasn't user friendly at all. I requested refund asap.

Needs some updates. A few things... 1. I would like to be able to edit the scene titles. 2. I don't like that if I get a text message in the middle of my dialog, the app stops playing. So I have to start over from the beginning. Frustrating. 3. It would be nice to touch and drag the dialog to where you want it, instead of hitting the fast forward button. (Which only advances ahead one line.) 4. If it were free, it wouldn't make any difference. But people pay for this. Please fix these things.

I found this app to be very helpful. Recording short lines can be complicated, because two button presses are needed to start and stop identification of my own lines. Perhaps long-hold of the button as an option would help. For example, when my line comes up, "no", press and hold line button until the line is over. Then, I wouldn't have to coordinate focusing my eyes on the line and trying to press the button in time. Just a thought. Great app though!

This app is not user friendly and has no instructions or menu. Im still not even sure how this can be helpful. This app should be free .

While recording you hit the "Line" button to identify your lines and mute them during playback. Play it back and it seems fine at first, but after a couple minutes it slips so you hear the first letter of your line, then the first word, etc. With a long enough recording (as short as five minutes) it's off by several seconds, so half your line isn't muted, but the following line is. Until that's fixed this app is pretty much useless.

Basically does what it says but it needs to allow editing of recording and you have to keep the screen on while using it as it won't keep a history and it will just shut down if you close the screen. Need to be able to edit recording names and list order. It needs to keep running with screen off like any other music player will. My hands are freezing from having to hold it while walking...

All it takes is a quick perusal of the Help menu and memorizing a scene couldn't be easier. I am amazed at the simple effectiveness of this app. To the guy who says it erased his work, I'll bet that wasn't a function of this program. I am only sorry this is available just for the android phone. I'd like to see it available as an app for my Mac. That way I wouldn't use my phone battery. It's much easier to keep a computer plugged in. Also, when you turn the screen off, the program stops playing. Perhaps this could be overridden in an update. Regardless, this is one simple, fantastic App!! Thank you to the developers!

I don't know of any other program that does this specific task. This is a very simple, to the point program. It does what it claims and does it well. Interface is very minimalistic yet functional enough. Much nicer than my stage manager too. But not as pretty.

Hi, I just had my first acting class today at Austin Tuck Studios in Vancouver, and my assignment is to memorize lines for two scenes from a movie. I looked around for an app to help me learn my lines, and decided to try this app, Dialog Partner. It works really amazingly! In a few short hours I made very good use of this app and learned most of my lines! Thanks so much Kevin for writing an incredibly useful and indispensable app that I will use often. Bought this app for "Two Gentlemen of Verona." Since then I've used it for "Pericles Prince of Tyre," "Endgame" and now "Heroes." Would appreciate the ability to add to a Scene if you get interrupted as you're recording. Great value in any case. Well done!

Where are the instructions? How do I get to the "Help section" a previous reviewer mentioned? I see three screen shots above, but have no idea how to get to the third one. How do I define my line? So far, all I can do is record audio, which is the same thing I can do with the default audio recorder with my Android device. What am I missing here? Tried e-mailing company and searching internet for instructions. I'm unsure if I just don't get it, or if there is a bug. The last reviews I see are from a year ago, so wondering if this is still supported.

It deleted my recording as soon as the app closed. Not very useful.
