About UPC Phone (CH)
IMPORTANT: this free app can only be used by people who are UPC customers and who have a fixed network telephony subscription with the company. Please note that as of May 2 the app will no longer be available. Already installed apps can be used until 31 August 2017.
UPC Phone is an app which enables you to place and receive fixed network calls via your smartphone. Use your fixed network number now to place calls while travelling at attractive rates and receive calls to your fixed network number directly on your smartphone.
• Place calls directly via your smartphone using your fixed network number and receive calls while travelling on your fixed network connection by means of push notification
• UPC Phone uses the existing Internet connection (Wi-Fi / 3G / 4G). This ensures that you don’t miss a single call, even when travelling
• It doesn’t matter who you want to phone, the calls work irrespective of whether the call recipient has installed the app or not and of whether or not he/she is a UPC customer.
• UPC Phone can be installed on up to three smartphones per fixed network connection. This means that the fixed network phone now provides four telephone lines which can be used at the same time by the entire family
• With the UPC Phone app, you can make calls at the attractive rates available via your fixed network connection. If your fixed network telephony subscription contains inclusive minutes, these are also valid for calls placed using the app
• Save on roaming costs and place calls, even abroad, via Wi-Fi at attractive Swiss fixed network rates
• UPC Phone uses your address book so that you can quickly select and call your contacts
• Quick and easy login using your My UPC user name and password

While using the phone, it keeps disconnecting calls. Sometimes four or five times each call. This is realy anoying and makes it less valueable. But the phone quality - when it works - is quiet good and at all a usefull app (especialy with a phone without an abo)

App nicht mehr startbar. Kann mir doch keiner von den Codern erzaehlen, dass die das Update auch ausprobiert haben. Und wenn eure App einen Workaround zum Update braucht, solltet ihr eine Updateanleitung bereitstellen. Braindead? Onlineanzeige immer auf rot. Egal ob on- oder offline. Wenn ich euch ueber die App schreiben will, stuerzt Upc ab beim senden. Statusanzeige in der Statusleiste immer weiss. Android 6.0.1

This app hijacks the USSD capabilities of your phone. It replaced the hash key to terminate the ussd command. If you are using a prepaid phone and can't recharge that might be the reason. Remove this app and it works.

Quite often, the app is offline. Also fighting issues upon updates of the app after which I can often not log in anymore.

It keeps asking me for the language update. It also restarts itself after I close the application, just to keep spamming apparently. Also, the phone is running slow because of this. Probably a bug, because it didn't happen before. Second thing is that it didn't work for a few weeks, and then all of a sudden, it connected itself.

Does what it says. Saves you a lot of money. You can take or make calls from anywhere as if you were at home.

After informing UPC and them issue repair tickets, it still does not work. Thus, I cannot log in to my account, error message popping up, my credentials are wrong. I think, I would like the idea of being able to use my mobile phone for making phone calls via my Horizon account.
