About Tetra Water Care

A key to maintaining a successful and healthy aquarium is keeping balanced water chemistry. The Tetra Aquarium app, combined with Tetra EasyStripsTM 6-in-1 Aquarium Test Strips, makes testing for six important water quality levels – nitrate, nitrite, hardness, chlorine, alkalinity, and pH – quick and easy!

Just dip our test strips directly into your aquarium and compare to the color chart in the Tetra Water Care App. If any of your water quality levels are off, the app will alert you and recommend an easy-to-follow treatment plan. No guesswork or calculating required.

The app also makes it easy to set reminders so you never forget to test your tank again.

Other features include:
• In-App Emailing of Test Results
• Test History
• Results/History Printing via AirPrint
• Built-In Water Volume Calculator
• Metric or Imperial standards
• Large Easy to Read Scrolling Color Bar
• Manual Value Entry Option
• Complete Illustrated Instructions

I find that it won't save my reminders. The pH scale is different then the 6in1 package. For the people complaining about the sliders , if you hold down on the box that says volume it will switch to a manual entry and you can type any size in to it.

R70%
by R####:

The bottom 3 test blocks are in the wrong order in the app...ie KH, pH, Cl on the strip... Cl, pH, KH in the app....and why not call them this instead of "alkalinity" etc....very confusing.

R70%
by R####:

Colour and numbers are completely off compared to the test trips I got, and I cannot seem to change the type of test strip used. Rubbish!

I'm new to aquatics so this App offers some valuable advice. Volume calculator is fairly accurate but sliders are biased to inches so could be better. If this App gets updated in the near future with more functionality then I will be happy to review my rating.

This app should be embarrassing. If tetra puts as much effort into their products as they do this app, then fish are in big trouble. Tank volume is wrong. The product I have (5 in 1) isn't an option. The colors are off. Just use the chart on the product itself. This app is redundant and defective.

R70%
by R####:

I don't have any way of reading the chlorine when the strip doesn't have any pad for it. This app should have at least the option between both test strip brands.

R70%
by R####:

I purchase the 5 in 1 test strips and on the package it mentions this app, yet my strips are not usable with it! Waste of time plus the part of the app where you enter in the tank dementions to find the volume is way off. Not very professional...

App is garbage use the jbl test strips and app instead

R70%

It's all in inches (or equivalent to inches) and ppm. Needs the option to use metric and mg/l. Litre is spelt LITRE, not liter.

Can't change to 5 in 1 test strips and the store's do not sell the 6 in 1

States that my 20x10x12 inch tank is 21 gallons.... it's 10 gallons. I know that because the box says so and I've used other volume calculators online with the result of 10 gallons. How can this be accurate when it is assuming I have more water volume than I really do. I really wanted this to be helpful but it wasn't.

This app is great and very helpful, sure it could be improved a little, but it has been a great help when I tested my water and needed the information saved, it's really nice to be able to have the information on my phone instead of writing it down! I have recently setup a new aquarium and going through the tank cycle and because of bad information my local pet store gave me, my tank is cycling twice, so this app has been very helpful through the process! Thanks to the developers for making this and Tetra ☺

Volume setup sliders inaccurate. No ammonia input. Advice assumes all fish need same mid-range parameters. Too high/low advice very subjective. No gh or kh input only ppm... v1.0 I can live with some of these issues, but for long term use it needs serious work and quick updates.

It's time for someone to get an Application for this. I think that it's great to have.

But it is really handy! I especially love emailing myself the "reports" on each of my tanks so I have in front of me any chemicals I need to pick up and so I can keep them as a record! Not perfect (I would always use the color chart on the bottle first), but I still love it.

There are more things to test with salt water and the pH guide is completely wrong

What's next?

I have the API 5 in 1 test strips and since the app won't allow you to modify the testing strips, this app became useless for me. Nice concept, but too limited.

I didn't even know you could get an application for something like this. It will be a great help for maintaining a healthy fishtank, thank you for this simple yet helpful app

Extremely sloppy programming. Did any one test before releasing?

Volume calculator is wrong, but app is useful. I have more issues with test strips being "off" compared to liquid.

K70%

Used it a couple times and didn't learn anything, so... if your into just tracking data

K70%

Doesn't work correctly

N70%

Not accurate at all. The markers on the actual test strip container are way better. The sliders are very inaccurate too and make it extremely difficult to get an accurate tank size. Could be an excellent app if more attention to detail is given.

S70%
by S####:

Pretty good, but the sliders for the tank dimensions and volume are really irritating. You can't adjust it accurately to your correct measurements. + - buttons would be better.
