FlareMail is for telling somebody (or a few people) where exactly to find you, now and for the next hour. Run FlareMail to locate your GPS position and prepare to launch a Flare.

When you launch a Flare, you create a personal and time-limited webpage with a map of your location. With tracking on, the map will update with your position for an hour. You can send the link to your map in a message to your friends. They’ll be able to check the map for updates without needing to ask you!

Send Flares when someone is coming to meet you and save them the trouble of looking up your address. Send a Flare when you’re headed somewhere and make it easy for others to anticipate your arrival without anxiety or guesswork.

Features:

• Your friends don’t need an app to receive a Flare. Every Flare is displayed on a mobile-optimized webpage that gets updated automatically by your FlareMail app.

• On the move? Turn tracking on to update your Flare for the next hour so any recipients can see recent location updates. FlareMail will do its best to update your Flare map online each minute for an hour.

• Holding still? Turn tracking off to send a stationary Flare.

• Concerned about privacy and battery life? Us too! When you choose tracking, the application only updates your Flare map for an hour, and the map will only be available to view for an hour after that. If you only share a single location, the application does not monitor or update your location at all. Nothing to worry about forgetting and setting up.

• Every flare launcher can tell you that weather matters. We grab your local weather and give you beautiful backgrounds that celebrate everything from Miami sun, Seattle rain, and Colorado snow.

Notes:

• FlareMail works best on phones with GPS. Devices can provide location data based on WiFi but you may be disappointed with accuracy.

• Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. FlareMail tracks for only one hour to help avoid GPS battery drain.
