Nevo Smart Phone is a universal remote control app that works in conjunction with a separately purchased IR bridge. There are two primary types of IR bridge products: A Bluetooth Smart to IR hub or a WiFi to IR adapter. Either device will enable your Android phone to control home theater equipment when using the Nevo Smart Remote app. Nevo can be used to almost any home theater device including TVs, cable boxes, satellite receivers, media streamers, game consoles, audio devices, Blu-ray /DVD players, covering over 6,000 unique brands. The Nevo Smart Phone app is designed for simplicity with a smart setup wizard and simple activity-based control. In addition, the Nevo Smart Phone app includes an integrated program guide, enabling you to browse your list of channels for upcoming shows, to get info on the show, cast, and crew, and to tune to a selected show with the tap of a finger.

Pretty neat device. It connects over bluetooth, which means every time you disconnect, you have to manually pair it again, pressing the pair button on the device. I'd rather have one that connects over WiFi so I don't have to pair it every time I want to use it. Kinda defeats the purpose of a remote control.

I wasted my money of the Rca NEVO product. I will be attempting a return as it is a fancy paper weight. No wonder Best Buy had them on clearance. App won't connect to the remote. So the device is useless

...... Which are now useless. The app was never great TBH. But with a few tweaks, it was usable. But please note that the app DOES NOT WORK AT ALL WITH MARSHMALLOW. App last updated in 2014. Not acceptable at all. Come on, get your finger out and get it working FFS!

I just got my Nevo hardware and it connected ok, controls tv ok, but nothing but sadness when trying to control my Roku 3. I really wish IR blasters would just stay in phones, got spoiled with my Note 4, now looking for to solutions for the upcoming Note 7. Probably have to keep on looking. UPDATE: Note 7 will not connect with Nevo hardware. Returning Hardware unless it connects.

The only thing that I fined annoying is with Android phones it's habits using the back button on the phone instead of the back button on the app which end up cancelling out the app completely and you have to re open the app each time you us the back on the phone instead of the app

Whilst this worked initially, it was flaky at best. After some updates to Android, the software will no longer connect from my Nexus 5 at all and a reinstall does not help. The phone app works from the tablet (Hudl 2) but the tablet app does not. No ongoing updates and a poor app make the device comparatively useless.

Support is useless, tell you to do the same every time when the software is just a pile of crap, I'm now on android marshmallow and don't even connect to it anymore, it's going in the bin, no updates should be ashamed, used to like one for all products, certainly won't be buying from them again, stay clear

I tested two of these devices out of the box and the blue tooth did not work on the samsung or iphone. Disappointing waste of time. Poor quailty hardware and judging from the comments the software is not much better. I would avoid this cheap product as it is nothing but trouble.

Worked lovely for a couple of hours now can't get the app to load. It just displays a black screen. Tried everything even uninstalled and reloaded but no go. I have an IR bridge. What a waste of money. It will be going back. Very disappointed

This is a waste of money you shouldn't have to keep reconnecting you phone to this portal that 9/10 have troubles connecting in the first place its way to cumbersome I would rather spend $10 on a cheap universal remote why? because it is simply more CONVENIENT

Make an app that works without a bunch of BS! A lot of smartphones have IR blasters, and funny enough those IR blasters are made by UEI..so why the HELL should anyone need to by all these devices just to make a universal remote work?!?! That's not universal the slightest bit, unless you're referring to it being a universally ASININE app that's useless for anyone that it might be useful to! Get a clue, and develop an app that's worth downloading!! This app was a TOTAL waste of f***ing space & my time!!!!

Does not work. Cannot not pair with uei portal that cost $60. This app nor the tablet version work. Please fix and update your software so people do not waste money on your IR portal. What a waste of time and money. Do not buy the RCA Nevo portal, it will not work with this software.

Wanting the "minimalistic" idea in my new house I went against some of the other comments on here but I have to agree with them. You have to follow the instructions to the letter and even then it won't control eveything to its entirety. It will not control Virgin's Tivo box nor the Bose Sound Wave. The things it does control you are limited on what you can do and despite the "fully customisable " shpeal, it isn't. I have also had to reset mine back to factory settings for the 2nd time since having it.

To be honest, playing with this so far all seems a little "beta"! You have to follow the instructions to the letter, and beyond! So for instance, just follow the printed guide and the software will never pair with the zapper. You need to not only enable bluetooth on your Android device, but you need to make that device visible - which can mean diving into the menus! Next up "Press the power button on the Zapper till it blinks twice" on mine you press it until it blinks continuously! When it comes to adding your devices it seems to take a couple of attempts to add them. You go through the process, think it's done, go back to the menu and then have to go through the whole process all over again! Finally, when it's set up you'll find buttons on screen that relate to functions on your equipment that just don't work! So what do I think so far? Great idea, and for a coffee table basic remote the zapper is great. But the smartphone app is frankly appalling! I'd love to be able to give this more stars, but until some serious effort is put into the software that's not going to happen!

Bought a OFA Smart Zapper which requires the NEVO app for it to function and the app wont even launch. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no joy. Can I set this up any other way or was it a total waste of time and money?
