Rogers Smart Home Monitoring for Android
It goes offline often. I've had people coming by my house to do work and Im supposed to be letting them in through my app, but can't because the app goes down. The issue cannot be resolved by calling Tech Support, who require a hard reset. App also lags.
This app worked well until about a month ago. Now, it creates duplicate recordings and often when it records footage, it won't play. It takes forever for the camera to load most times. The app is annoying. At this point, it's mainly used to arm and disarm.
App needs a lot of improvements. Goes offline often like others have mentioned. Automations are cumbersome and not intuitive. Lights can only be all turned off or On. Why can't they allow grouping of lights to mimic rooms. Just not well thought out.
I'm sorry but for a home security app, it needs to be way more stable. There are many times when I come home and I can't turn off the alarm because I need to restart the app as it's crashed. If you close your phone with the app running and then bring it back up again, you get a black screen. Just way too buggy to be useful. Not recommended.
If i hear a sound outside and want to check this app to see if it's someone outside or an animal..i open app to wait usually 30 seconds of "connecting to camera" or there's another one it says too. The automations NEVER function at %100. More often then not it seems this app is flawed and in its infancy. I regret getting this system/app. If zero stats was an option. I would rate it zero
Horrible.... constantly going offline. Automations rarely work. Installed and now returning. Needed constant rebooting. What good is a securuty system that WE have to monitor to see if its working... Rogers needs to step there game up. Great concept. Wish it worked consistently.
This app wasn't properly tested before go live. Only working function is the 'view alarm history'. Switch on/off light in error, auto timing control not aways working after setup. I'm using note5 on Rogers network, it takes 3 minutes to set/release arm status. Hey Rogers! please, you can do better job than this.
Clunky and slow. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when I opened this for the first time and saw an ugly UI, clunky navigation and slow performance. It would also be a stretch to say it is intuitive or user friendly. It needs a complete overhaul. The Nest integration is very basic too. No access to schedules or other options.
Seems to work as intended. The service has been good with the app. Scheduling has worked well. Cameras work well. Even caught someone trying to enter our back yard/garage side door area. Its a little slow but it works as intended.
Why am I paying for Smart Home Monitoring when there's nothing smart about this at all. The app never works correctly for months now. Camera not visible, arm/disarm barely works if that and Nest integration is very basic. I'm not sure why I'm paying for this service to look at a blank screen when someone is at my door. I can't wait for my term to be up so I can actually get something that actually works
Why does the app keep showing a black screen? What kind of service are you guys trying to provide here? If the app has bugs how do I know your security system doesn't have bugs? You are not providing exceptional customer service here. Very disappointing.
It works ok. Sometimes it's difficult to sign in. Not very often although not nice if I'm standing on my front porch in the cold. I use this app mostly to lock/unlock and arm/disarm. And apart from occasional sign in glitches, it does the job. I'd really like to be able to change fonts, colours, ann backgrounds for better visibility.
The app is slow and quite flaky. Often the app just displays a black screen. It takes a long time to load. Should I go on? Not sure if Vivint has a more stable and reliable app?
Slow at times. You can only delete one video at a time lol. Would like the option to create rules with specified times they are applied.
Laggy with inconsistencies performance and connectivity issues. For a large multimedia corporation, I expected better app development.
Just got the system installed and so far so good however you can't access the app??? I see horrible reviews for this app and it needs to be fixed asap!!! Attention to detail Rogers seriously!
This app was designed by high school kids or something! Even after uninstalling and reinstalling I don't know how many times I can never view my cameras or turn the light on and off! The keypad and cam modem goes offline every day..its been this way for months... Rogers support is useless cause they just get you to reset everything to get it to work again! I would not recommend this service from Rogers as it's a waste of money! Such a huge company and they can't even get an app right!!! Needs to be updated ASAP!!! ONCE This contract is up I'm out! Might take my other services with it....
*update* I have decreased my rating to 2 stars. The app seems to work less than 1/2 the time. Constantly getting connection to server errors. Which is inconvenient when you are waiting for a house to disarm or door to unlock. Oh and thanks for the response on my previous comment. The layout to the app is great. It's easy to use, everything is easy to find and all the info I want is included. However it needs to be far more reliable. Especially when dealing with one's security it is unacceptable to have "connection errors" or "server cannot be reached" errors so often. This has happened to me 4-5 times and I've only been using this service for a month. Another note, not as important but something to consider is to make everything more responsive. The camera feed should be far more accurate not 1 frame every minute and arming and disarming shouldn't take so long as well.
Too glitchy!! Too slow to open... If it opens at all... Very poor reliability for this app based on what you pay Rogers!!
I have had Rogers come out and reset everything. Still unreliable, camera works, sometimes, weather works, sometimes. Needs a BIG improvement BEFORE I recommend it.
Only improvement I would make is speeding up camera responsiveness. I use the app for arm/disarm, reviewing my log history and thermostat control. Seems to work good overall.
Works pretty well. Lags a bit from time to time, but when it's crucial to get into the app, I haven't had an issue. Love having a smart security system!
Often have difficulty signing in, have to attempt sign in 5-6 times before it works. Rogers' solution is to reinstall the app, as if I have time to do that every other day. Good concept, poor execution.
Use to have issues with the camera freezing and the light not working. Had to have tech support come out, but they were very accommodating and fixed the problem in 30 min. Haven't had an issue since.
Still needs some work for improvement, but it does the job. There is a technical connectivity problem with the monitor at home from time to time. Overally not too bad.
Unstable even with good internet connectivity. Idea is great but no good when can't get it to work when you need it to. Tried to record and pic was so choppy could not get good look at the person so no good for being able to report.
This app is garbage! Glitches constantly. It signs you out all the time if it even opens. Rogers get your act together. This system is expensive monthly and you have done nothing to improve the app.
I'm just waiting to end my term so i can cancel this so call home security. ill be lucky to get a connection on this. I got high speed internet so there is no reason for it to be slower then dial up and it is.
Sometimes works sometimes doesn't. Get a lot of error messages, camera is very slow to connect when opening. Also everytime you open the thermostat schedule on the phone it automatically sets a new schedule over riding the old one.
Still have not fixed this after months of this issue reported!!! Under the automation rules unable to add anything when trying to add an action for when an alarm activates. The main point of it is to be notified of an alarm yet can't create the rule for it! Seriously???!!! -10 stars
Constant issus from not being able to change the heatting settings to lighting.. although i dont think its the app i think its rogers also wish they had a bigger choice of what you can use with it.. no other smarthome products unless its rogers no other lightbulbs unless its the ones rogers has...
The set tempura changes by itself and 90% of the time it doesn't let me change anything. Rogers technicians claims there is nothing wrong...
Just a pile. Started ok and went on a slow decline. We pay for a service. Can you fix the app so we can enjoy the service?
Always problems in viewing the camera and controlling the light bulb. We have called a technician to fix this issue. After seeing the camera feed for a day, it stopped appearing and its been 2 weeks now.
Good only for displaying an existing configuration. Set up features are broken. Thermostat schedule neither displayed nor can be set.
So far, so good. I haven't had any issues with this app, but i have only been using it for 3 weeks.
This app is terrible. Rogers should really invest in a better platform if they want to enter this market.
The overall idea is great, but most of the menu doesn't work properly. It's almost impossible to go into the schedule for the thermostat. Then, in winter, it runs the summer setting instead of winter setting. I had to delete the summer setpoints to fix it. The hub is constantly on, although there is another hub to the router. If the hub is unplugged, nothing works. What a shame Rogers.
Galaxy S5, Android OS6. Can't exit via soft keys works now! As does being able to set durations of events! The app even loads way faster now. Great work!

We switched to Rogers Home Monitoring specifically for the cameras and being able to view them on our phones. The app frequently doesn't work and we have to call in. It has not been working for the last week. It is not the phone (we tried iPhone and Android). It is not the monitoring system because we can access the cameras through the browser. We have removed and reinstalled the app too. It is solely a problem with the app. We have called into Rogers and the problem still hasn't been fixed.
