Think audio transcription has to be done at your desk? Not any more. With FTWT4A you can transcribe and earn wherever you are – not just at your desk but also in the dentist’s waiting-room, on the sofa, while sitting on the train or bus… literally anywhere!
Android is the operating system of the future, and is now found on phones, tablets and increasingly desktop computers.
Audio transcription on Android is exactly the same principle as transcribing at your PC. You don’t need a physical keyboard - all you need is an Android smartphone or tablet.
Audio transcription on a phone or tablet is slower than on a PC, though if you use a Bluetooth keyboard it's equally as fast. But even if you never get as fast on Android as on your desktop, the point is that FTWT4A still allows audio transcription in places where it wasn't possible AT ALL before.
Android 3 or above required.
Playable file types include mp3, wav, mp4, 3gp, ogg, flac, aac and m4a, but other types such as wma, flv, ftr, dss and ds2 can be played by converting them to mp3 or wav on your desktop first. I've been using this app for over a month and it is by far the best in terms of playback, time-stamping and differentiating between speakers when edited in settings. I love that now there's a portrait view. Thank you for making transcribing on-the-go a breeze!

As soon as I discover that you added Portrait view on this I immediately went to my playstore and then rated you with 5s.. Well if there's a 10 I could've rated that.. My life is much easier now.. I can now go to my bed and do my work without holding and/or looking at my laptop! GREAT JOB GUYS!!! ????????

I use this with a bluetooth keyboard. Works great. No problems so far. It's exactly the transcription software app I've been waiting for. The only thing I would want is a keyboard command key to start/stop audio rather than always having to press on the phone screen for that. I could live without foot pedal use.

When I press the audio button it says my app is too old and i should press download for a new version. When I press download, it tells me that I have not been invited as a tester! ? I installed this app just today so how come it has already expired?

Even prefer this to f4 which is what I usually use on my laptop. This is much more customisable and user-friendly. Love it :)

It was all good, I really like how the software is made until the time I was done transceibing and was about to send the transcript, it could not be recognized or opened by other programs or device.

The app crashes CONSTANTLY when using and android device, the buttons don't even work when are trying to play, fast forward, or rewind. An while doing a 10 hour transcription last all of it n a sudden second.

This app is BRILLIANT and with each release it just gets better and better. I use it for creating scene by scene breakdowns of movies that I like and word for word transcriptions of lectures, etc.

I've been searching for a transcription app for android and this is the one i found. unfortunately when i try to use it, the screen suddenly went black. i re-install this app today and it's ok now..works fine!!!! i changed my rating...

I've been waiting for an Android transcription app for quite a long time, so I can transcribe on my phone while away from my home office. This one has most of the features of the desktop version of the FTW Transcriber, including the automated timestamps, which saves buckets of time. Typing on it isn't as fast as on a PC, but apparently it's much faster if you get a physical Bluetooth keyboard for your Android device. Also, you can't do as much text formatting on it as you can in Word, though the writers have told me this is because of the limitations of Android. (I participated in the testing for this program before launch). Overall, this software does what it should, and lets you transcribe anywhere.

The name and description are misleading. It isn't "audio transcription software," it is however audio playback software that is helpful to YOU doing the transcribing. The name and defrost need to be a little bit clearer to avoid disappointment such as this.
