Findery - Local Tips & Travel for Android
When I click on Near Me most of what I get is commercial listings for real estate, commercial plugs for restaurants...really? When I search for anything that an average person might want to find, say sports equipment near this zipcode or antiques near that just zipcode, I get the message "no notes found". I cannot see any possible use for this app, uninstalled... But if you're going to do same, remember to delete your account first - which has to be done via their website.
Beautifully designed app and great community, but it kills 10% of my Nexus 6p battery without even being used so unfortunately have to uninstall :-(
Findery is fun filling !!!
It really works for me I love it
Its easy to use and I just love it. I don't have to ask family or friends for ideas anymore I have it right at my finger tips
Best app to find out about "must visit" places
Good
I liked it:)

Cool
love. love. The speed is awesome no more slow phone.
Wonderful experience.
Very useful app.
My favorite feature is being able to see what locals and visitors have to say about a location I am in, a destination I am visiting, or a place I want to visit. The stories and photography really help to take me there.
Incredible app for discovering travel stories and other tips in places across the world! Definitely one of my favorite apps.
I used this app recently to document a trip to Europe with my family. It was easy to post daily updates, and including a photo brings the text to life. It's also great for perusing, seeing places you may want to add to your wishlist.
My go-to app for interesting places without all the fluff - just authentic, real stories behind the place. I love sharing my adventures on the app in a way that I can't share it on other platforms. And there's nothing better than discovering a new place from others' experiences, complete with addresses and mapping! What! It's a useful (and colorful) app for me to do a little travel dreaming and tomorrow planning.
Really beautiful design. Operation seems improved as well.

Literally.
I love this app. I love the stories. I love the little and big things you can "find" both nearby and across the globe. It's like getting to travel everywhere without ever having to leave your couch!
It was easy to track down the places my friends raved about in Kyoto.

Pretty cool app.
Findery for Android has received a makeover. I love to use Near and Far to find notes nearby. Recently I was at IKEA in Emeryville, and starving, so opened up the Findery app and discovered the historic Tiki bar/restaurant Trader Vic's nearby. I walked in with the backstory on the place, and it made it a much richer experience.
I remember finding this so interesting back when it was still called Pinwheel. Now, it's still interesting but missing the crucial ingredient of an active community. It's hard to see how the existing community has even been using the app - is it a message-in-a-bottle like Twitter or more of a less business-centered Foursquare? Perhaps the developers intended it to find its own way but that never happened.
Quite a lot same results. Some people use it as free advertisement or Instagram, Facebook etc, please add ability to report a card. Nice ui and easy to use
All
Pretty cool app.
This app is slow and when you scroll sideways to explore content it feels sluggish with low fps. Looks like good idea but this app may kill that idea.
I really hope this turns into a better Foursquare with interesting tidbits about your surroundings but without all the restaurants. The content might even already be there, but you never know since the interface is so laggy that I just gave up using it. It also uses way to much data in the background and in foreground for metered data connections. Also missing is a map of your saved tips. At the moment you just don't know where they are!
Too much sponsored content and too many life stories. Too little actual local information. Google Fieldtrip is so much more relevant.
The idea is wonderful and the community is outstanding, making the app's setbacks worthwhile. The execution leaves something to be desired and does a disservice to Foundry. My desired improvements: overall speed improvement. The app is pretty laggy; the menu is slow, the posts in pins on the map disappear randomly, browsing the feed is slow. People bumping into your posts should be in your feed. There's a lot to improve but there's also a lot to enjoy. I like Foundry a lot.
The beta went very smoothly. I've been looking forward to the full release as the best thing about apps like Findery is the network of users. The beta was cool, but now that the app is in the wild, I expect it will become even better. It's like a more personalized, mobile, spontaneous Pinterest. Nice work.
Fun app. UI looks great. But the discovery tab is super laggy.
Since leaving my old iPhone 4, I've been waiting to get back on Findery. It's refreshing to find cool things hidden in my old neighborhood and new places I want to visit. The bucket list is getting longer.
Great idea. However, very buggy. Preferences can not be saved. Cannot change to Celsius. Many others. Fix and 5 stars you shall have!
Recommended for finding places of interest near you. This isn't the lame POI you find in GPS apps. This is the stuff of human connections.
Excited that Findery is launching in Android, because it means more people all over the world will be adding their notes and stories. Already a magical bazaar of discoveries and surprises, it gets better with each person who joins. Findery contributors and community are wonderful!
