About Tung Wah
Since its establishment in 1870, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGH) has been all along upholding its missions of “to heal the sick and to relieve the distressed; to care for the elderly and to rehabilitate the disabled; to promote education and to nurture talent; and to raise the children and to guide the youth”. TWGH has become the oldest and the largest charitable organisation in Hong Kong. For over a hundred years, TWGH’s medical, health, education and community services have developed rapidly to fulfill the needs of the society and to provide citizens high quality, inexpensive or free services. TWGH now operates over 292 services centres, including 5 hospitals, 27 Chinese medicine and Western medicine service centres, 53 educational service centres, 205 community service centres that cover elderly, youth and family, rehabilitation and public services, whilst the Tung Wah Museum strives to promote, restore and preserve the heritage and relics of TWGH. TWGH Record Centre has been set up to preserve TWGH’s valuable cultural assets.
