After using Feedly exclusively since Google Reader was shut down, I finally made the switch to Press (Feedly's link hi-jacking was the last straw). Initially, I was turned off by the price. The money spent on this app has been worth every penny. It is beautiful, and very easy to navigate. Press also takes full advantage of immersive mode, which more apps should do. Highly recommended.

by B####:

I like the app, the functionality is as advertised and being able to read your feeds offline sure is a great advantage. But, I find the app to be at a total standstill, there is not further development or new features. I'd love to see some material design style look and feel as well as a better use of tablet real estate. So guys, please get back on working on this app and add some features, in the end this is a paid app and maintenance should be part of what we pay for.

The asthetics and usage are spot on. Favorite reader app by far. I use it with Feedly and it works great. Only suggestion would be an Android L update where you could color code categories so the status bar would change colors as you read articles from different categories. Just something to add some color. But overall, fantastic app, simple, clean, effective.

The app is awesome. I used to be gReader useer but got fed up by, let's say, not that great design, so started searching for an alternative, and this app came up. Using for a month, TOTALLY WORTH THE SWITCH! Beautiful design, great Readality integration, gesture navigation is easy and intuitive. 5/5 will recommend to anyone! P.S. I'd like to be able to always see full article headings, please?

by U####:

Pre-Google Reader shutdown this app was pretty good. But with no updates in more than a year, and some fairly annoying bugs, combined with a UI that is starting to show its age in the "Material Design" era of Android, it's become frustrating to use. There are several better clients available on Android at this point that I'd rather use (FeedMe, Feedly, etc).

Z70%
by Z####:

Good app but a few features could be added and improved. 1. Add font size option for articles list. My eyes are not so good and its hard to see the article list. 2. Add more themes like a whiter theme and deeper black text. Again hard to read on the sepia like background and gray text of the current light theme. Could really improve my reading experience with this improvement to your app. Thanks

U70%
by U####:

Overall I like the app and find it very useful. The app is a bit buggy: it marks articles as read when I've "unread" them and the collapsed feed lists under each tag can get confused when you've finished reading another tag's articles.

P70%
by P####:

This is the only reader client in Android which is best in design, usability. Though lacks extensive features, it has options which are just required for most common use cases. Readability integration is a great addition which helps to stay within the app and expand to complete articles in clean readable view.

Q70%
by Q####:

i guess it's abandonware, and now crashes at least once or twice per session. i've been trying the other readers, but Press just has the best combination of features and ux for pretty much anyone. i really hate 25squares for giving up on this great app.

U70%
by U####:

I don't understand how could I use the Feedly app for reading. This is so much better, thank you! *EDIT: time flies and I received lots of new Android version on my Nexus. The app is freezing a lot on the latest available image, and also should update to material design (it was important standpoint for me that Press was updated with the latest features of Android in the good old KitKat times). As I remember I already tried to contact with the dev but no answer. No update since more than a year, uninstalled

Q70%
by Q####:

This was the best Android RSS reader during its time but it's been oddly abandoned. No updates in over a year and no word on the Material Design-inspired refresh teased late last year. I hope the Devs find the time to work on it once more. I'd be willing to pay for an update.

by P####:

Seriously, I love this app and it is definitely the best way to view Feedly content, BUT the one thing it is missing is a way to read offline readability content. Getting the first part of the article and the image associated is simple enough, and works great! But sometimes you have a bad connection and can't read a story because it cuts off after the first paragraph because of the way that particular feed works. If you can make it so that caching the readability content is an option, 5 stars for sure.

U70%
by U####:

Dark theme, Feedbin support, Readability and gestures to navigate - a perfect, minimalistic and fast reader. Love it :) // Edit: when using Readability it crashes way too often recently. Very annoying 'cause the articles are already marked as read and I miss some stuff.

C70%
by C####:

I don't actually "hate" this app. In it's prime, it was the best RSS reader on the Play Store. Now, it's very outdated, sluggish and buggy. The developers appear to have abandoned it, and might have disbanded themselves. For that reason, I can't recommend this, especially with it not being free. RIP Press.

U70%
by U####:

Worked well for a week. Widgets stopped working, just say "signed out" even though clearly still signed into Feedly. Reset, played with settings. Don't really want to reset cache. I really only bought this app for the widgets When it worked I loved it. It's not working. Reverted back to Feedly. Frustrating because their free app is better than this one that I paid for

U70%
by U####:

I've been using this app since it was released over three years ago and it keeps getting better and better. If you were using Reeder on ios then you'll love Press.

U70%
by U####:

This was once a great app. A 5 star app. It still has the best UI and UX of any android RSS app... But now it's filled with bugs. They got better with Kit-Kat, but some still linger. Such as syncing issues, mark as read issues, starring issues. I hope the developers continue to update the app before it completely becomes bugged down. No need for new features, just some bug squashing.

U70%
by U####:

Honestly, I like this app a lot but need to give a bad review because it seems to be abandoned. It wouldn't have been quite as bad if the developer didn't post on Twitter almost 8 months ago saying that an update would "materialize" soon and get all of our hopes up for apparently nothing...

U70%
by U####:

Nice but I need to preview my articles by site. There should be a way to preview articles by site and category. Right now the widget allows only previews for either all unread or a particular category. That display isn't quite flexible enough for me. Back to FeedR.

G70%
by G####:

I'm finally trying out Press and love the design overall, which is elegantly clean and grey. My only complaint so far is there if no way to add a feed directly in the app. This is likely due to its support of multiple sources like feedly, but is irksome nonetheless since I have to go into feedly on another device to add a feed to read it in Press.

U70%
by U####:

Has this app been abandoned? I would complain about the lack of Material Design or the lack of significant new features but now that I see that there have been no updates at all in over 2 years I'm more concerned that the this project has just been completely abandoned. I hope everything's all right.

U70%
by U####:

I use Feedly as my go to RSS app, but found the widget to be kinda boring. Enter Press, which has a gorgeous design and feel, and generally works very well. However, there's one bad thing about it; The widget, as pretty as it is, can't initialize syncing, which means that i have to open the app, and sync from there. It's only two more taps, but makes a difference. However, due to the design this is very recommendable.

U70%
by U####:

Pretty much all my apps have a Material Design update but not Press, which used to be hailed as one of the best designed RSS apps? Wondering if I should just use the Feedly app in the meantime.

R70%
by R####:

On first install I thought this was the one app to take over all reader apps. But the configuration is lacking and I constantly get a "Network Connection Error" no matter what settings are set. Also, no good ways to find documentation or support.

U70%
by U####:

I love the clean UI and smoothness but please... - MOVE THE UNREAD MARK BUTTON FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. ITS HARD TO REACH ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE USING GALAXY DEVICES.

R70%
by R####:

Also, the tablet UI is horribly misaligned in places. Forget Material design, I'll be happy if just these minor things get fixed.

U70%
by U####:

When is the Material Design update coming that you teased? This app has not been updated in a LONG time

C70%
by C####:

This used to be the best RSS app on Android. It is mostly unusable on newer versions of the OS due to the unbearable amount of bugs. It's still relatively usable, especially on 4.0 and below. The app devs' site hasn't been updated in years. I'll fix this if they ever come back to fix the app

O70%
by O####:

using press on my devices for a long time, after google read dead there is a bug: i using press with feedly, i have 4 folders (folder 1, folder 2, etc), here is the problem - both folder 1 and folder 2 have unread items, get into folder 1(the folder which above folder 2), mark all as read, app back to main page automatically, and found folder 2 with unread folder 1 feeds, i have to fold and unfold folder 2 to get the correct feed. this bug has been existed for a long long time, wish you could find it out and fix it.

R70%
by R####:

I am using it with tiny tiny rss through fever api simulator and it was working just fine. But since few months I started getting some crashes, and the ui is being old, and there seem no more development, an abandoned app? Hope they do an update soon.

B70%
by B####:

It was the nicest looking reader as well as functional. But looks like there is lack of support for it recently from the developer. Last update to the app was well over a year ago. There are bugs that need to be joined out and quite frankly it looks a bit outdated. There are other readers out there that look much more refreshing that this one with material design cues. It's a shame such a great apps has been abandoned. It's was a real gem.....

R70%
by R####:

Last time it was updated was more than a year ago and the developer is not responding to any comments or issues. In my case I have issues with articles being mark as read by mistake and the mark until here functionality doesn't properly work at well. I wouldn't buy it since the creator seems to moved to new things and doesn't pay attention to the app anymore

M70%
by M####:

This is almost exactly the app I wanted for news reading, putting the content first and getting out of my way. Unfortunately it's become unusable now, freezing multiple times just trying to go through my feed, and the developer has disappeared after promising a material update months ago. Disappointing result after enjoying a top quality app.

R70%
by R####:

Press wraps your RSS feeds in an aesthetically pleasing blanket, providing a comfortable means to read the daily news. That said, it's as buggy as can be and will fail at the slightest provocation if on a dodgy interweb connection. Is it right for you? Probably... but consider yourself forewarned.

A70%
by A####:

It is super slow to refresh and many time won't redress when on LTE even if you allow it. It's also a resource hog even though there's no good reason for it. No other News Reader I know suffers from this, only Press. It also could use a more modern bright Holo theme option. The two theme choices look dated and bland. The Tablet layout is broken and being that its been so long being updated this thing is very far from Material design, it's barely Holo light.

R70%
by R####:

Gets everything right! Even navigation is simply fun and unique! But I miss Material Design... I would love it on here!

F70%
by F####:

In the latest version, swiping to the next article causes the app to freeze up on occasion. What a pain!

R70%
by R####:

Ever since lollipop it's been crashing all the time, used to be great, now it's very hard to use :(. Old review: Great app, continued development! Love the immersive mode and dark theme, keep up the good work!

Z70%
by Z####:

I don't like the layout and settings. It does what it says it will and syncs your RSS feed so that's good. Besides the aesthetics of the app the only other complaint is I haven't been able to find an option to "view all" there is a "view unread all" though which doesn't help me. So this app isn't for me but might be for you. Make sure you are ready to get a refund quickly if you don't like the layout of the app. Or if you do like it get this all because it 'works' great!

R70%
by R####:

This app was one of the reasons I switched to Android. It used to be so good. I still use it almost every day but it has been getting more laggy and unstable now that it has been abandoned by the developers. It is sad that this app no longer seems to be maintained. Hopefully the developers will return to give it some love. I have yet to find a suitable replacement.
