Version 1.2 of the RIMOWA now allows customizing the display. Whenever no bag tag is presented on the display, you can now display an image as well as personalized initials next to the address. As a user, you decide for yourself which data is stored on our server. If you create a personalized display and transfer it directly to your RIMOWA Electronic Tag, no data will be stored on our server.
If you want to save the created display and re-access it at a later time, the data including the image will be stored on our server. The saved image can only be used by yourself to personalize your display and is not used for any other purpose.

Please ensure to activate GPS/location services. The RIMOWA App doesn’t access them, however, with Android 6 Google requires activated location services when using Bluetooth LE.
For some devices the pairing request gets sent as a notification (similar to a message/sms). This notification needs to be opened by swiping down from the top of the screen and confirmed by entering the pairing code respectively by clicking „ok“ in the window.

Sorry guys...the idea of the electronic tag is great. The way the app is working is absolute terrible. We tried wit different devices...several worked (Nexus 5; Huawei P10plus), but my Huawei P9 will not work. Pairing OK but it remains "Bag not found". The software in UX would also not reach high level...but now it is not working for me at all. I should read the reviews before and should not buy this suitcase. Complete disappointing. 550 euro waisted!

Cannot add airline to the Rimowa app. Basically, I can only display my address there. Rimowa said they are updating the apps for android but from what I read that was 4 months ago... they can only cater to 18% of IOS users. So to the 81% of android + 1% other OS users DO NOT BUY THIS!

Apple users benefit from being able to put their picture. Also I find the Bluetooth connection unstable. The extremely well built case is let down by this piece of fancy technology.

just another bloody fiasco after bmw, roca and hsbc etc to ignore and discriminate Android users!?... simply took too long to deliver after the it offered to the god damned crapple platform exclusively. those stupid decision makers nonetheless use crapple ios themselves but also always mistreat Android users as underdogs and deprive them of their very fundamental right against crapple.

I just wish i could send my bag to a Rimowa store to get them and reprogram the whole e-tag system. Nothing works for me right now. Utterly disappointed. I should've bought the Classic Flight one instead!

Really excited about this after seeing my wife use it w/her iPhone. Tried w/my Nexus 6 and gave up after an hour. Can barely get the bag to pair, let alone set the tag.

We pay so much for these bags and you guys can't even get the app to work properly. I have a S6 and it won't even connect the bag period. Don't introduced something new you can't get the bugs and defects to work. Disappointed!

It worked perfectly with my Huawei P6 android phone. Unfortunately it only works with Lufthansa at this time but I did go to the airlines tab and requested that AC WestJet and KLM be added to the airlines list. Great idea hope it catches on. I the meantime I was. Able to easily create personalized tags with my email, initials and even a photo of myself. Nice insurance for not picking up the wrong bag at the baggage carousel. Do far so good

Paid over 850€ for my bag. The app and display are useless because the bag does not pair with my S6. Give us a working app or money back!

After fumbling around with the app for an hour including deleting Bluetooth cache, repeated reset and repairing, I finally got it working on my Nexus 6P. The trick seems to be to give the e-tag the permissions to read your phone contacts when pairing. This of course is something which does not makes sense to a non developer. But looking at it from a technical perspective you can see that there might be some unsolved questions regarding the implementation of permission dependencies which have not been addressed yet in the app. This fixed it for me. Still this is a horrible user experience for less technical experienced customers. As the app itself is little help in fixing this or giving the user an information why it is failing, I am only giving 3 stars as in the believe that Rimowa product owners will chase the developers of this app until the ease of use meets the standards you would expect from the long running tradition of that company.

Keeps crashing right after start on LG V20 (seems to crash when it's not able to access web content, like the EULA, if it can it works). Please consider exchanging your Android development team...
