A simple application which helps you to get updated via voice if a new message arrives on your device.
Notification 2 Speech allows you to select apps of which you want to hear any notifications.
Every time a new notification arrives from e.g. Facebook or WhatsApp, it will be converted to speech and read.
You can select the type of audio-stream to also hear notifications if your device is in silent mode.
You can also force the application just to read notifications if it's connected to a bluetooth headset, useful if you only want to read notifications when in your car or on the go!

Good as far as it goes. Limited to two apps in the free version but one of those has to be this app and there is nothing to say how you get the paid app
