Great idea. Dear creators of this app, this camping app... Not a parks app, shouldn't the map show camp site's? Another thing missing is having users add camping area's. I like the recipe tab, also would be great to have users add their own recipe's. Great app keep up the good work.

This is a good start. However you can see park maps or camp sites. There is not even a link to the parks website.

You have to download an extra 55 mb in the app. Not sure why but aye i didnt mind at first. Finally once it reaches 99 it freezes. Horrible application. Would not recomend.

Does not work.

App demands 95MB of space (fully updated), won't install to SD card, and requires an internet connection to actually deliver any content. Might be fine for some people, but I was kind of hoping for something that would be useful both at home and while camping.

I Love camping!

AMAZING. By far the best planning app I've ever used. 5 stars!

Needs updating...

It has potential but there's very little of substance in here. About the only useful thing would be looking up parks, but even that is limited. There are more than five provincial parks in Ontario. What was in the 55mb update?

by O####:

You guys seem to have issues here. .. First downloaded app, then had to download a 55MB update followed by 3 (and who knows how many more) 14.1MB updates, I simply gave up when it was asking for a 3rd consecutive update before I could actually open the app... Great idea but I don't have time to mess around with all these updates.

The info provided was good but way too limited. It could have used much more to be actually useful. What is with the camping equipment section? It really doesn't give any info on equipment other than you will need some... and more than the three categories in the menu. A list already populated with essentials - yet editable - would be a HUGE asset to a new camper. Additional frustration was the 55mb mandatory update needed before I could open the app for the first time. Not worth the 95+ mb of storage.

Thanks for this app Canada Parks. I like the list making feature. I would love to see you make an app with more information for back country and more experienced campers. I'd also love to see an app where I can check off which parks I've been to and make notes on my trips there.

Good app but sadly it doesn't cover southern Ontario too well. No mention of Algonquin at all and I personally while like some more info on the Niagara region and GTA . Checklists are good and hopefully one day we'll get to try the further afield locations. Neil in St Catharines On.

Some useful tips. Scrolling is a bit slow at times.

Downloaded this app. Had to find wifi to do further 35 mb but has a lot of info including a camping checkist that was actually free.

N70%
by N####:

What good is the check list if it keeps re-setting to default!!! I've set up a list twice only to loose it all!! Pretty useless if you ask me.

This could have been a lot better if the developers took the time to test this app on Android. The background behind the text has an opacity so that we can see the Pine Needles, but that cool effect isn't worth the chunky scrolling on many of the screens. Also, I'm not convinced that this app really needs a high resolution pine needle background at all, and the removal of this would have sped up scrolling a fair bit. Also, I'm convinced there are other CSS errors on this application that slow down its responsiveness. When making a hybrid app, it's important to work around these issues, since the Android browser is the IE6 of Mobile. :(

The idea is great. But it lacks informations and has fatal technical issues to the extend that it is useless. Thanks developer

Unless I'm missing something, there are very few campgrounds listed per province. Too bad.

Z70%

Like the lists but since you have to download an extra 35mb you should really have app2sd. Really.

Perfect app to camp hassle free

Used the checklist for my last trip and remembered several handy items I would have forgotten otherwise. Haven't tried the recipes yet, but they look yummy.

This app SUCKS your battery dry for no reason even when not in use... GARBAGE APP

N70%

Its a great start but is in serious need of additiinal content!

Meal plan suggestions are limited, and the places available for camping are limited to camper access - what about tenting and hiking?
