Descriptions are ok, but it would be helpful if the Chinese names were displayed if you have to ask the locals for directions (nearly no one speaks English, and the street names seem to be different in Chinese). Which you will have to, because the map is useless. It sent us running in circles, which means a lot of unnecessary kilometers in Beijing, because it showed the things we were looking for as somewhere else (at least the city district was thw right one).
