Most healthy full term babies lose somewhere between 5 to 7 percent of their birth weight in the first 3 to 5 days of life and in many cases will begin to gain weight around day 5 to 7 of life. Most healthy FT infants will reach their birth weight somewhere between the 2nd to 3rd week of life. During the first two weeks of life, special attention is focused on the baby’s weight. Directly after birth the infant is weighed and assessed on a daily basis while in the nursery. After discharge, the pediatric healthcare provider will re-weigh the infant as an outpatient at around the 5th to 7 day of life and once again at 2 weeks of age. As a general rule, any loss greater than 10% of birth weight is concerning and requires a full feeding evaluation, as well as consideration for formula supplementation.

Update: This app has been updated and now works fantastically again! Thrilled to finally be able to use it again! Old review: This app is fantastic when it works properly. Recently the words have all disappeared or become some type of code, rendering it entirely useless. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice with no change. I also emailed the creator several days ago and received no response.

PLEASE fix this app! It is great for work, I need it! Not working with my S3. I bought it then refunded it, but then my mom told me it was working on hers again so I thought it would work on mine & the issue was fixed. However, is still not. :-/ FIX IT PLEASE! Thanks for fixing it!!!!

Despite being supposedly compatible with my phone (LG G3), does not work. All I get are blank fields. I very rarely pay for apps, but as I am a midwife, thought this would actually be worthwhile - WRONG!

I got this app to help me with the working out of how much weight in percentage that a newborn has lost or gained. It is very easy and quick to use which is needed when doing house calls with distractions like a crying baby or patients talking to you while your trying to work out the correct answer on a piece of paper! couldnt be easier now. Thanks!
