Bass Guitar Magazine for Android
I subscribe to the paper copy of the mag. At various points the mag states download the app as there is extra content in the app. You CANNOT get access the app unless you subscribe again. What is the point in stating this in your paper mag?? Do you think we will subscribe again or what?? Behave and treat your fair paying subscribers with a little respect! Absolute rubbish!!
But the problem is the subscription price is not shown! You have to take the risk and click the "test subscription" button to find the price! The only visible price is the horrendous £6.99 for a single issue. Smells dirty tricks to me! I hate those "marketing techniques", so only 3 stars from me.
Loaded, uninstalled app twice. No content. Too bad. I was prepared to buy a subscription.
All this is is a lead-in to get you to purchase magazines.
A great magazine for bass guitar players, but c'mon BGM, get a grip. You must take your readership for a bunch of half baked f**kwits if you expect us to part with nearly seven quid for a mag that we can buy cheaper in a shop. Dread to think what a subscription would cost but I uninstalled the app before finding out. Unlike some of the other nobs who left reviews (did you really expect to get the magazine for free?) I fully expected it to be a portal to buying/downloading a copy, but not at that price. The whole point of digital editions is that they're CHEAPER as there are no physical production overheads like paper, ink, electricity (to power the printing machinery), and no fuel or transport costs to distribute the magazine to a shop. All that has to be done once the magazine is produced is scan/convert to a digital media format. Just compare the price of a digital ebook on Amazon Kindle or a digitial magazine on Zinio to their physical counterparts to see what I mean. #numpties
Although the new version has a few extra goodies like a side menu with all articles and a nicer layout, the zoom isn't as good as the old reader. With my phone horizontal the maximum zoom still has tiny lettering. It would be no good to someone who is short sighted.
App is clean and easy to use. Yes, the price of a single issue is steep, but an annual subscription is only £18! I can't recall the price of a print subscription, but it's significantly more than that.
Just an app to let you BUY (not free!) magazines. Cheap ploy by the publisher, IMO.
Well, sorry when it says free it makes a person think that's what it is! This is not free
Awesome!

I really can't understand why people are giving this a bad review. It is excellent. Cheaper than getting the paper copy and you can save editions to your phone so you can read wherever and whenever.
