الهدف من هذا الكتاب هو أن يتعلم الشباب المسلم الطرق الشرعية لإبطال السحر وعلاج المسحورين وكذلك علاج الحسد والعين كي لا يحتاج الناس إلى السحرة والمشعوذين الذين يهدمون عقائد الناس .
ويقع الكتاب في ثلاثة عشر فصلا تستوعب الموضوع بشكل جيد من كافة الجوانب .

يعد موضوع السحر من الموضوعات الهامة التي يجب أن يتصدى لها العلماء بالبحث والتنقيب والكتابة والتأليف في وقتنا الحالي؛ وذلك لأنه من الأمور التي تفرض نفسها على الواقع العملي للمجتمعات فقد وجدنا الكثير من محترفي السحر يعملون ليل نهار للإيقاع بين الناس والتحريش بينهم وإفساد ذات البين مقابل دريهمات يتقاضونها من شرار الناس الذين يحقدون على المسلمين، وقد بين الشيخ "وحيد عبدالسلام بالي" خطورة السحر في كتابه "الصارم البتار في التصدي للسحرة الأشرار" وطرق عملية من الكتاب والسنة النبوية للتصدى لخطر السحر، والوقاية منه، وهو مؤلف مفيد قصد منه المؤلف أن يتعلم الشباب المسلم الطرق الشرعية لإبطال السحر وعلاج المسحورين، وكذلك علاج الحسد والعين كي لا يحتاج الناس إلى السحرة والمشعوذين الذين يهدمون عقائد الناس.
