SAS Survival Guide - Lite

The content is fine, Lofty knows his stuff - But I bought the full version and things like the Urban Survival guide you had to pay lots extra for. In the end you are going to be paying tonnes of money for something not very useful at all. Currently a paperback copy of Lofty's SAS Survival Guide is half the price of the app on Amazon and is much more useful in an emergency. Alternatively just download the United States Army Field Manuals from the Internet for free (legally, they are public domain) - Ask Wikipedia or Google, they'll find them.

Well I've got the full book, the Collins Gem version. That's a fantastic wee book. Tells you alot. Didn't cost more than £5 if I remember correctly. Fits into my front pocket of my Army issue Bergen, along with alot of other Gem books, like "Food for Free, Mushrooms, Trees and Knots" Though the SAS Survival Guide is by far the best. Lofty Wiseman thankyou for revealing alot of their survival 'secrets' Not for any other reason do I own the book. Signaling/Morse Code and fire's styles, health and medical tips are good to have, especially as I use the DD 3x3 metre Tarpaulin. So many designs for that...Paul.

Fire building with bow drill or hand drill this author from what he has written has never done it. He has recommended one of the worst woods to use pine! I would never waste my energy on pine for an ember. Also had said that the drill will glow red. ..pure bullshit. I am deleting this because if the author does not know about the basic of fire I cannot trust any of the rest of the content.

This app just covers the essentials but it tells you every thing like 10 different uses for a condom. If you are kind of a survival geek i recomend that you go with the full version or just order the book off of amazon but over all really handy app.

"LITE" is an understatement. It took up more room than it was worth on my tablet, and was a complete waste of time and effort to DL and install, and all that took was one tap on the screen. It seems that people think adding the acronym "SAS" makes something extra special. do yourself a favor and finf a digital copy of an early boy scout manual and download that onto your device instead. THAT may save your life. this guide wont

good strong basic points covered in every wilderness and natural emergency only. does not cover vehical or transport emergency sinario. am into wilderness fot years n will recommend it. go ahead on download if you are visiting a area you need tp be prepared.

Mr Wiseman is legendary in the military world and as a survivalist. If you are a enthusiast and he writes a book like this get it, it will save you. It has all you need to know,great detailed pics and info. It's a must have for all survivalist.

Extremely useful but as ham radio guy, I am really surprised by how many of the Morse code characters are wrong in this app. The book has a couple of mistakes also but fewer than the app. It matters if signaling something important.

This is a very good basic survival guide. It is an excellent read for the weekend warrior or the more serious survivalist. Really like the tips on creating a basic survival kit.

I am an avid backpacker, so I'm outdoors alot. I like the fact that you don't need a connection to the net. Great for the professional and the enthusiasts. Thanks!

Really good made me sort my survival kit out properly being an avid camper. Only 4star coz am too tight to pay for the full version ha ha really good very helpful

Great app has many great tips but If it was free it would be twice as great but thanks any ways..a list of the real world survival with extreme measures would be nice...like tacical hand signaling and cover fire and flanking positioning.

I have the paperback. Having the soft copy in my phone is good to reference on hikes and training exercises. Took the info to a tropical region in 2012, was handy to identify edible local plants.

One of the few survival applications i've ever seen that you have to actually pay for the full version. /: i'm considering it because the hard copy version of this is so legendary. But first i need to experiment with this, and compare it to other survival applications (Navy Seals App of Valor is by far my favorite). But i still, mostly to the absolute beginners to survival, prepping & the outdoors. This kind of information really can save a life.

You really want this information, and to practice it. Confidence due to knowledge is key.

The Morse code signaling is so wrong,13 of the letters are wrong and some are duplicated,and 5 out of the 10 numbers are wrong.Do not rely on this to send any messages as its just so wrong.The rest looks good,ie firelighting and practical things.

I have this in the small book form and as the full APP. its well worth buying to learn from and to have in your camping/hiking bag. The APP layout is well done and comprehensive, lots of information is packed in this APP.

It's basically an advert for the full version, but as adverts go I'd say it beats John Lewis.

As an essential reference material on the subject of SURVIVAL, they don't get any better. A reflection of the author's decades-long experience in the British Special Air Service. Great stuff and highly recommended!

A little annoying that it is a demo version but it is still a great app.

Though I am not depending on a electronic version of what I have in book form. I find myself pulling my phone out on down time and reading pages from this app as it is more convenient.

But somebody will be stranded on an island one day and remember "oh yeah I have that cool app". then realize the most important things for NOT DYING arent in here. There is no reason to make the app paid when some people need it most. Please read and reply.

Good read, very informative and good honest basic survival techniques brings back memories of my previous life. Hope more books come out like this.

Great App!! Love the tiny Collins SAS book as is a MUST for all your travel and outdoor adventure needs. I had the book & the app this time last year in Hawaii. The tiny SAS book is the perfect fit with any first aid or survival kit. I tried to use no products on my trip just natural oils and herbs & teas & the book helps with many natural medicines food and survival tips needed. A great app but the book for me with my own list is always a must have and its always in my survival kit. #1 survival tool

Buy the full version this is informative but if your not going to buy the hard bound book thst is the only way you'll ever find anything you'll need.

Changed system font makes the paragraphs fall apart. Photos small and not zoomable. Some content loads over the net. Paper version is more reliable for survival, can at least not run out of battery.

Tried to buy the full version but it won't download due to insufficient space 'bug' which seems to be common.

Small enough to be left on the phone with little/no impact on system resources. Great app to have just in case...

I'm pretty survival prep. Well for a city girl, anyway. Yet there was quite a few things I didn't know or hadn't even thought of. Like what to do in a chemical disaster. App also covers some of the more minor things that we probably already know, but have forget about. This app has so much GREAT infor. with some user interaction that helps me remember important things.

Weather bug has more information than I imagined. I love it and use it several times a day. It is very user friendly!
