Winmail.dat Opener for Android
So far works fine on my Galaxy Tab 4 but still trying to get it working on my iPad Air 2. Probably just a setting issue, Apple is funny like that. The wide range of reviews is perplexing.
I couldn't find a way to change the app which is used to view the text document. You get one chance, choose the wrong one and you are screwed.
Didn't work like it said it would
Does exactly what it says
Exactly what I needed
Good
Useless.
Stinks
its less clunky than the other one. when you click on save or open it unzips file to the SD card and luckily/cleverly it takes you automatically to the sdCard location so you can easily click on the file to open. i just wish it would automatically open the doc/file upon its first click without having to go to the SD card. the other winmail.dat program just saved in the SD Card but makes you drill down to it, which is stupid and cumbersom,e and time wasting. this one is better for that reason that it takes you directly to the SD Card location automatically. 5 stars if it can open automatically upon clicking attachment without need to to go sdcard.
Great little tool that works as it should to decompose and open winmail.dat files often contained in emails. For those that cant open the extracted file without saving to SD card, try long press on the file, it opens right up on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus
I didn't want to email my client back with the news that his winmail.dat file wasn't readable. I installed this in 30 seconds and opened the file without issue. Thank you.
Not sure why I even gave it one star. This app is useless!
Oops there was a problem...oops there was a problem.. Oops there was a problem... Bullshit
Says it can't find the winmail.dat file... Every time.
Is a bit confusing to use but it works
Tried to open .dat file and app crashes. Uninstalled.
I use this with K9 Email app. No longer have to Bluetooth the dat file to my pc to open. Yay!
Don't waste your time.
Does everything I expected. Thanks!
It opens my school newsletters that are sent as .dat files
Can this edit the .dat files as well
No let me open .dat
No matter how I try to invoke it, or which file I try to open, it gives the message "Could not find any attachment/file." It was supposed to download the attachment to winmaildatopener folder, but there is no such folder. Perhaps this is because the HTC One does not use an SD card; several of the comments say it puts its files there. Anyway, it just does not work at all - uninstall.
Maybe im doing something wrong...but i click on 'winmail' email attachment and it says "fetching attachment" and shows a loading bar but stays at 0% and goes away after a few seconds. Never downloads it.
The app crashes as soon as I open the dat file.
Buffer overflow error on all files I tried to open.
Dose not work
Can't open a winmail.dat file and crashes every time I try. Worthless.
Worked great until I upgraded to lollipop. Now I get an error message when I try to open a file.
Install the app but it does not open the attachments from my default android mail app. Before it did.
Is good some time, but is not always opening winmail.dat I tryied several times to re install but doesn't work.
very useful echo others comments about direct opening to get 5*
Cannot access my saved extractions. Using Galaxy S3
It really works!
Great app. Worked on my HTC Amaze 4G. Works well on my Nexus 7. Have upgraded to a HTC One M8 and it does not work. Any suggestions? Thanks. After checking further, the problem was being caused by lollipop 5.0.1. After changing my e-mail program from the resident program to a third party program, all is well.
Not sure why I even gave it one star. This app is useless!
Works great for me. Opened all of my PDF files from winmail.dat as advertised
Not worth a flip. It opens the winmail.dat file but doesn't offer a way to open the *.xlxs or *.pdf files therein.
it help me to read attachments

It used to work perfectly on my Galaxy s5. As soon as you hit preview button it would open the dat file in the app. Now on Galaxy s7 the only way to work it is to save the file and then look for it through the app. Very painful and time wasting process. Any thoughts on this???
