Orig review: Really like the new updated app. Better to see transactions & also easier to identify individual charges on card it's linked to as it now says the retailer's name alongside Supercard. Have recommended widely & happy to do so. ****UPDATE**** My opinion has now totally changed after a fortnight in USA during which the card initially worked, then faltered a few times, then after 7 days completely stopped working for no reason. The MasterCard I have linked to it worked perfectly when I used it.
Using this currently in Poland. Works on the buses and fast food places and bars and zoo's. I would love this card to be contactless so I don't keep having to hand my card over to someone. Just touch and go. Also got charged 2.99% for using a cash point but maybe I over looked that on the charges so next withdrawal will be on my normal bank card as its 1.99%.
Worked great in Czech Republic but wouldn't work in shops when I visited Latvia. Ended up using my normal bank card and paying fees which is what I wanted to avoid. Took cash so paid 3% on all my cash. No answers given other than "it should work next time". Not ideal when on holiday. Also blocked my girlfriends card to make matters worse.
Very poor system. App keeps crashing and once you actually manage to link a card it looks your account! Swiftly cancelled my account and deleted this app.
Worked less often than it was refused. Not reliable enough for me so will be getting a dedicated card for future trips.
Almost impossible to get a clear picture of proof of ID. Tried on several devices in case of camera issues, cradles for extra stability but everytime a pic is taken, despite appearing crystal clear on screen ends up a blurred mess on this app. Really wanted to use one of these but can't waste any more time taking blurry snaps of ID
A revolutionary concept, love the app and seeing how much I've saved, support also really friendly but not happy that I needed to order a new card after accidentally locking my pin, almost all other card suppliers allow you to unlock via atm or phone , basic stuff
Terrible experience with this card. Used in USA. The transactions on the app bear little resemblance to the amounts put through my bank account. I have no idea what some of them are. Will NEVER use again.
No way to get support. Only way to order the card, but after 3 days it cannot find my email address, cannot re-register. No idea what to do and no help.
Changed my review after getting through some teething problems for the second year running... I will be using this next month in Jamaica... I hope this works as it looks very promising
I can't use the app anymore. After login it keeps crashing. Using lg g3
Absolutely fantastic currently using it to pay for my NOVA services from abroad and is cheaper as to use my bank card.
Easy to download and receive the card but where is the "Show Pin" option? If that is missing, what else is missing from the app?
Using the card in Norway. No issues at all and nice to review spending on it.
Fantastic app and card for purchases abroad
The app looks good and is easy to use. The card itself is great for making card transactions abroad, but not so great for withdrawing cash as you get stung with a fee. The pilot scheme allowed you to withdraw cash at most cash points abroad without any fees whatsoever. It was brilliant. Unfortunately they have watered down the final product. Shame as there was nothing like it on the market.
The idea behind Supercard is excellent. You do save money. The app is really good and easy to use. However the card does not work everywhere. Went holiday to dubai and Maldives and card only worked 25% out of 100. Very disappointing. The card failed to work on duty free at both dubai and male Airport. It didn't work at McDonald's at dubai Airport. Some coffee shops did not accept the card and the hotel I was staying in. It says do not honor. Very very disappointing and will not recommend this card to anyone
Only way to see your pin is through the app, except the menu/options is non existent. Even a 20min phone call to customer services didn't help.
Got this for our annual holiday to France and also for future work trips overseas. Functionally it works well, with niggles like no finger print login and not able to change your pin. However card acceptance depends on the vendor accepting Mastercard and having an online system. I found I could not withdraw cash on this card, and couldn't use it at fuel stations at the pump (they do make you aware of this one!) Or at toll booths...
It used to be 5 stars. Now I'm in the airport and as I was walking towards my plane I received an email that PIN on my card stopped working so they're blocking my card and sending new one that will arrive within 5 working days. Considering that was my paying option for 2 weeks long holiday it was worst time ever to get the email. Wouldn't use their services again. And it was all so good before.. P.S. My boyfriend's card doesn't work properly either.Whenever you're trying to pay says PIN is wrong. SAD
Not as good as the pilot card which was Visa. Overseas ATM withdrawals were free, under MasterCard they are now 2.99%. There are better alternatives such as Monzo, Revolut or Curve. App opening screen always asks me if I want to Login (of course I do, that's why I opened it) or create a new account - it already knows who I am, so just me for a password please...
What a shame tried to use it in Turkey but refused because it wouldn't recognise the pin. Got sent a new card which wouldn't accept password tried to get new one but it won't accept that either resulting in card being blocked and me being on the phone trying to sort it out with no joy. On the point of giving up altogether
Really good product, used it abroad for Uber, in shops and online with a great exchange rate. Two improvements, the ability to deactivate the card like you could in the beta and fingerprint unlock.
Trial was good, everything worked well, now PIN wrong, card blocked, account disabled...Have to phone them everytime to sort things out and that removes any saving you may be getting. Cutting up card...
Works well, but declined at IHG and Accor hotels, some French motorway toll booths and random other places - sometimes within the same establishment - Futuroscope for example.
went to a trip to milan. and it was a real money compared to using usual forex or even pre booking. very convenient and satisfying to use. youd think someone would have had this idea earlier. definitely recommend!
Lets you pay for goods and services abroad at a better rate than you're likely to get from your normal card issuer. Would have given a 5* rating if you could change your PIN.
Absolutely brilliant Very useful app and very efficient
Very easy to use and very convenient
So easy to use and like the way I can link it to my Tesco credit card do that I receive Reward points too. The app allows quick updates of transactions too. Just 2 niggles - it now charges for cash withdrawals abroad, and you can't change the PIN you've been given.
The concept is great until you attempt to use the damn card and it just doesn't work. I have linked it to my Barclaycard IHG Visa and tried to use it in numerous EU locations and it gets declined every time. I spoke to Customer Services and they told me that it should work. Well guys guess what, it doesn't & suggest you go back to the drawing board with this failed idea. I will be updating the Martin Lewis & Head for Points websites with this information. Thank God I took my Halifax Clarity card with me!
Would be nice I find could actually use the non UK number I have for working abroad. Won't accept non UK numbers. The devs for this seem a bit short sighted.
I had the original trial version of this card which was awesome. Now this new one charges to take cash out and my bank charges me small amounts when I use it making it pointless. And you still can't change your pin, why? When abroad logging into your app to find your pin may not be possible at the point of sale. Again, the supercard was super but now it's just another way for travelex to make money.
Please make it possible for me to see the text I'm typing when I login with my email and password. It works, but I can't see anything and it's hit and miss. 5 attempts to login again. Once again, I'm locked out. Why won't the app accept my username and password? I've not been able to use my card yet! I've received two cards. Not been able to use either. Sticking to my Revolut, Fair Fx and Caxton Fx cards.
Updated and the app crashed every time I tried to login. An update fixed the problem but the recent update has caused the app to fail to recognise that I even have an account. Very poor.
Does what it should. I sorted card 1 week before holidays and save me some money. I couldn't use it maybe 2, 3 times. So very happy. Well done as long you don't need cash from ATM
The amount you are charged can change, extra charges appear on your linked card statement but not in the app.
Saved lots of money, however was declined a couple of times
After brexit needed something that works in the eurozone this fits the bill perfectly

Waste of time. The pilot card worked fine. Since they changed the card from Amex to Visa this thing has never worked. Three counties I went to and this thing fails each time. Poland September, the card failed. Whilst in Bali I get an email saying sorry your pin is nonworking we'll send a new card out, so I couldn't use the card. Two months later I'm in Sofia and the card fails again. Utter useless. Have two cc cards link to the card yet the card fails every time. Time to find a bin in Sofia and dump it.
