Kasa for Mobile for Android
works great so far except when I move to another cell tower and the status to devices are no longer reachable yet my other apps on Android work. what gives?
In the last couple of days my TP Link plugs have started causing authentication errors with my wifi signal. All plugs went offline and I'm not able to reconnect them as I can now no longer connect to my 2.4g wifi without resetting the password. Philips Hue bulbs and Amazon Echo are all working fine, it's just these devices.
I just have a mini smart plug hooked up to my lamp. It's very handy to just have it turn on right when I wake up. I am not a morning person so this helps shine light in my room to help wake me up.
Surprisingly nice fixture for its price. Has really great potential to do some awesome things, but i still feel it could be better. Look into doing chase sequences and effects for scenes. And maybe doing "shows" that can step through scenes in an order.
Wasn't sure how good this would work. Only took a couple of minutes to set up, liked it so much, I bought a second one took even less time to set up. I had a trip, tried turning the lights on from another state, it turned on with no trouble.
After struggling for months with a wemo plug, the Kasa app/Tp Link plug are a delight to use. Truly easy to set up and operate! My only regret is not choosing the mini plug, since the full size version hogs the whole outlet.
Since updating my plug no longer is recognised by the android app or Amazon Echo nor does it keep connected to WiFi like it used to previously, even after several resets, it would connect then stop working again. What up with that? Only took 6 weeks for it to stop being smart. Honestly!
7 switches and plugs worked great for a few weeks then after updates seem to be constantly switching between available and unavailable in the app. Google Home reporting errors trying to control them too. Definitely doesn't pass the wife test - going to have to rip these out if it's not fixed soon.
I never thought I would use this kind of technology, however it really is convenient. The application itself seems to be well synchronized with the smart plug device. I haven't have any issues with it, since it has worked properly. I love the fact that I can even customize the icon and name to identify my device. Thumbs up No doubt! ????????
Overall it gets it done. It's a little buggy at times but there's all sorts of variables involved in why so it's understandable. It would be great if more stats on usage were available. Such as monthly totals and more of an exact idea of energy used.
I never would have thought this would work after reading other apps that got horrible reviews, but this on does work wonderfully. I can control it at home on Wi-Fi, or at work on Wi-Fi or over my cell data network. If you are looking for control look for smart devices that can use this app.
I had bought wemo plugins before this, and i couldn't get them to work on my older wifi setup (maybe 5-7 years old) the app would freeze and i was scared that even the tplink software would be similar. But tp link worked so quickly and easily. Everything is like the 1950s said it would be, with a smiling lady (me) showing it off and everything. I certainly feel like im in the future now.
It's so awesome that I can turn a light on in my home when I'm out late. It sure helps to come home to a house full of lights. No more fumbling for the light switch.
Great product. Only thing i find annoying is it looses it connection with my Samsung note 8 and i have 2 reset the bulb to my pbone. Otherwise it is a fun thing
Tplink is the best at what they do. When I was looking for smart bulbs, the choice was obvious. Been a few months & I just bought my second bulb today. App always works. Not one issue working with Echo or Google Home.
It has a widget but its 4 x 1 and it only lets you set the mood you cant just turn the light on or off, you should make a 1 x 1 widget to turn the light on and off that way we dont have to open the app everytime
Local only errors, greyed out light controls. Up and down constantly. 802.11 network with a bunch of echos and most of the time these things dont work. I shouldnt have to reboot my router every day for these to work.
I like the Phillips bulb that I had cause you had options like making the bulb act like a strobe light which you can adjust by making it slow to fast or go through every color slowly or fast, also you can make it flash random colors which would be cool if your having a party. they had a couple more options which were cool.the best about this bulb is brighter the negatives r not every color is exact.like teal I can't get teal & some other colors.this app needs tweaking and those options then I give u 5 stars
After the latest update it knocked my 2 smartplugs offline and my thermostat after an hour with Amazon Alexa the 2 missing devices can NOT BE found how aggravating this is:update I figured out the issue, the app has to be un installed and reinstalled for it to work properly all is good for now I have noticed that my smartplug was not responding and looked into the app and found that I needed to update the firmware now everything is working fine
Amazing, instantaneous control over my dumb appliances. Although wish there was an auto-timer function, i.e. "every time I turn on my heater, turn it off after 30 minutes." Currently it seems you have to manually input a timer each time you wish for it to auto-turn off.
It allows you to control your non smart devices from anywhere through either the kasa app or through Alexa using echo's. I currently have three I use to set timers on my boys Xboxes, and it also allows me to turn them off through the app when they forget too.
Such an amazing invention for light bulbs. So many different settings to turn on and off and to dim them. Highly recommend them especially if you're not going to be home before night you can set the timer and I'll turn on so they can defer a burglar for a creep looking in your
This app has a nice clean ui and was really easy to setup, however the widget is 4x2 and i would like them to add a 1x1 widget with a toggleable switch to turn my smart plug on and off.
I have been trying to connect to a new router I had to reset my TP devices to factory settings and delete the devices. After that I reinstalled them and the app allowed me to reset instead of reinstalling. Easy work around. Also initial installing was a simple task. Thanks TP_ Link.
A very useful app when you have some smart devices installed. Easy to set up and use.devices are expensive but they work very well.
Works incredibly well. Using a smart plug with the Google home, it responds to commands before the Google finishes saying it's performing them. Fantastic , will pick up more
It connected easily and works first time. Considering buying a lot more smart plugs based on my experience. I develop we and mobile stuff for a living. It's simple and minimal and works for me
I'm fed up with is app and item I've had to get 3 in over a year as they keeps losing complete connection with each other and the recent firmware update has just seemed to make things worst. The app doesn't connect to the plug or the plug isn't doing it's job but turning things on or off. I'm tempted to just throw the plug in the bin.
Absolutely fantastic. I've been wanting to be able to control my lights, but didn't want to pay $90+ for a hub. Got my first light bulb and the app works flawlessly. Super simple and quick to setup, works like a charm! Works perfect with my Google Home too!
Very easy to set up and use with gen 1 Alexa/Echo. Love the scheduling feature and remote access. Not very tech savvy myself and found it simple to set up.
Don't know what I ever did without the smart bulbs scheduler. Great idea. Works like a charm.
A really good app. Feels like a well designed component of the TP-Link smart home, not like an afterthought. Easy to set up, easy to use. Nice, clean, modern design. The UI is good but could be great. Could be improved and tweaked to make getting around even faster and more intuitive.
So much better than having to use a hub-based system like Wink - products pair quickly, respond instantly, and the app is straight-forward and easy to use.
Setup is a breeze, interface is simple and easy to use. Integrates easily with the excellent TP-link hardware, like the HS-110 WiFi Smartplug with energy monitoring. I use it to track energy usage of my Chevy Volt, and it is unique in it's combo of 15 amp rating, decent wifi radio, and excellent app.
Works well. No glitches. I use schedules a lot, but wish it had a way to add or subtract 30 minutes or so to the sunrise and sunset times. Sometimes it's too dark at sunset and would be nice to turn on the lights 30 minutes prior to sunset. Seems like an easy fix,but still waiting for it.
Very clean and easy-to-use interface with a ton of great functionality for my mini plug. I've already ordered two more, and I'm going to experiment with a light switch. I'm hoping it solves a lighting issue so I don't have to pay for expensive rewiring.
Works great, easy set up and also with Alexa. Have to reset after power outage tho.
My son set up some eco dots for me, so he had everything configured. I just set up a light bulb in my kitchen by myself. It was very easy, the app walked me through everything! Going to set up the other bulb next
Don't need or want yet-another-third-party-cloud-account to manage MY devices. It's not consider friendly and it's another company I have to worry about getting hacked, stealing my info, and d then having access to my house. No. Thank you.

This app is amazing. I can control all of my connected device from my phone. So if I'm out of the house and forget to turn something off, I just click a button and it turns it off. So many uses!
