After we worked through some surprise settings issues on a brand new phone (S6 Edge 3 weeks after it was launched). It works GREAT! I have the S6 my ex has an iPhone. Its all set up and working. My 6yo loves being able to send messages whenever she wants. Also, tech support was incredibly helpful and patient.

I'm a single mother with lots of work time and don't get to talk to my little girl because of work so I bought toymail in hopes of more communication and fun with her while I'm at work. I have been trying to get for a week with toys device but I've gotten no help. I've followed the steps for connecting and continually get an error at the end. I am very upset, my daughter is also upset and not understanding of the problem. I am very disappointed in the lack of help and terrible connecting to begin with.

I was an early adopter of the project and still love how easy it is for my kids to send messages. Unfortunately the app is hampered by poor usability and an incomplete feature set. For example, features as simple as deleting old messaging are not available, leading to a massive list of messages over time. Message playback is quite buggy and there is no global playback controls. The UI/UX interaction model and visual design feel incompatible with modern apps and the core audience, parents.

Fabulous way to stay in touch with my grandchildren. The customer service is fabulous should you have questions or an issue with the toymail set up or updates etc......I can't say enough good things

If it wasn't for my grandson being able to leave me voicemails, I'd be so over trying again and again to get this to open. Yes, they responded to my emails, but I reset the password and it still won't accept my login. Huge pain. I've never had this much trouble with an app before, ever.

Was working, they updated, now not working. And 160 precious msgs between me and my niece all deleted with their update. Stop trying to fix things that are not broken. You break them that way.

This is a great piece of technology and my kids dig it. I had frequent issues early on about one year ago but then smoothed out and worked real well for a few months. Then....they updated the app. I can only assume that it was an attempt to improve but it's more unstable than ever. I am again frequently unable to send a messages.

You no longer see anything to indicate your message is being sent.. It takes a lot longer to see your sent message has gone through.. Resulting in lots of empty and duplicate messages going through. Liked this a lot before the update and layout changes.

Cant send toymails after update. App is unusable and the contact page on the app us broken. Dont use this.

Great customer service, fun for grandparents to use across the country.

I love this idea, but the app is unusable. My parents have the same experience on the iOS app. After a ton of initial excitement for the toy, we had to hide it because my son asked why his grandparents never send him a message.

It is a toy BUT MORE. toy mailbox helps get children over any technology intimidation. My grandchildren love it and I love you just as much. getting daily voicemail from them is like pennies from heven.

It needs notifications! It was showing notifications for a bit many months ago and it was fantastic! It suddenly stopped and I have to manually open the app and check to see if any have been sent.

Got two of these for my daughters for Christmas. Took a few tries to get them up and running, but after a few minutes we were good to go. I just wish that the app would notify you when you have a new message as sometimes my kids send one randomly in the middle of the day and I don't know about it until way later.

great customer service, really fun app to interact with the kiddos when I'm not home.

App worked sometimes until the update and now not all (android)! Super disappointing. Hope it can be fixed soon, great concept but poorly executed.

The idea is awesome. When it works it's great. That's about 50% of the time. Recipients don't always get messages I know have sent or the messages they get are 0 sec long ("blank"). The app is awful, limited to begin with and then stops working altogether and needs to be deleted and replaced. My kids love it when they get mail and equally love to send it but it's so frustrating when they get it right, send a message where they're speaking clearly, and it doesn't reach the person for whom it's intended.

Christmas presents for our kids are sitting in a drawer because they were too challenging for them to understand and too challenging for grandparents to send messages let alone get set up on their phone. The only way I was able to get them operational was to set up their phones myself. Waste of time and money.

Starts to open then shuts down. Frustrating because the toy is basically useless for my niece.

so cool to stay connected with my niece and nephew.  we've been using this since xmas. they love it.  the app was a little slow at first but the recent update fixed everything.

Folks from toymail followed up with me when I was having problems with app being buggy and quickly helped me resolve the issue. I wish the app wasn't buggy to begin with, but glad that is up and running again!

This app is awesome. It lets me talk to my son when he's not with me because I only get him every other weekend but , for whatever reason on my galaxy note 4 it keeps crashing so I can't even open it to see what message my son sent me. Please fix !

This app crashes constantly and almost never works right when it is working. No part of this app works even 50% of the time. Would give 0* if I could.

It's so sad that this doesn't work well. It's such a unique idea and a meaningful way to stay connected to young kids when you can't be geographically close. It's heartbreaking that it just doesn't work well.

The app took some messing around to get setup. I also don't get alerts when have received a new message from my niece, have to check the app manually each day.

Re-setting was easy with the latest update to the app. Really great job implementing a great concept.

Absolutely a great way for me to keep in touch with my kids when I am on travel or having a late night at work. Very easy instructions and FAQs which helped me get linked with my kids.

It was really hard getting this set up; wouldn't work on my Samsung or Asus tablet but I bought a new LG & it finally footprint. Now I'm deployed in the middle East & w/ the 9hr time diff, I can hear sweet babbles from my 2yo and send him msgs about how much I miss/love him. To Toymail developers: u REALLY have a gem here and should partner w/ military family programs. It's a HUGE morale booster. Thank you.

We received this as a gift for our daughter. Super cute idea but the app is a non stop hassle. My husband and I have both found we must frequently uninstall and then reinstall the program because it stops working. Friends and relatives (with heavy guidance from us) can usually find and connect with our daughter's Toymail, but they too have challenged that it will stop working. And they're far less motivated to work around the apps issues. So it really limits the enjoyment for our daughter and us.

I love toymail but for some reason with my android the app never works. It just keeps loading and when I am able to get on it won't send the message.

Had a hard time getting it set up, but customer service was awesome and we had it figured out same day I emailed. (which was Christmas day!) We love this toy. I have family in other states that send messages. My nieces and nephews can send my kids messages. So much fun!

My kids love it I am out of country. And it working great I have 2 I'm going to get another one . I'm using the android version of the app and its working great / is super fun . the toy will alert the user to a toymail having been sent to them with super super funny animal sound. The voice in the app are great fun ..

My husband sent messages as Santa to our niece during the holidays. Now she thinks ToyMail is her special phone to Santa. She  sent us messages to us about what she'd like for Christmas. Mostly asking if Santa can bring Elmo to visit for lunch one day

I could not wait to connect to my nieces and nephews using Toymail! The owners of the company are very responsive and helpful. Works great!

But the app (on android) constantly gets hung up and won't connect. When it works it is amazing. We have two that we use to message our daughters instead of anyone yelling through our home. Unfortunately, when the app gets stuck so do the messages, at that point they take 20 minutes to get to our daughters' toymail characters. Their responses are instant, that's a plus. Hopefully they will get the bugs out and I will improve the rating.

I'm a mom who does a lot of travel work. I've been on the road a couple of days and love getting and sending messages to my boys. This is great for little kids that aren't old enough for phones. I can't stop telling friends and colleagues who also travel a lot for work, about toymail. A few of my friends bought toymail boxes today ( and one bought from his phone during dinner )

 Gift for our son and he loves it.  Very cute, great implementation!

I love being able to send and receive messages from my little munchkins across the country. Would give this 5 stars if you included notifications on android so that I know when I have received a message from them. With a 3 hour time difference it's hard catching them as it is. If I had a notification when I received a message it would allow me to communicate with them a bit more :0) but overall this is such a cool idea. Thank you toymail!

This is a great idea and a toy that my kids love. Unfortunately the app is not consistent and I find myself having to refootprint and troubleshoot frequently (I am a samsung/android user). At this stage after owning for just over one month I have buyers remorse and would prefer to just leave my kids a voicemail while on the road and have my money back.
