About Disney World Lines

LINES will help you save time and money during your Walt Disney World trip. Because we’re independent travel writers, we can tell you what Disney can’t, from actual waits in line, to which park will be less crowded every day of your trip.

LINES features include:

-Both Disney’s currently posted wait time at every attraction and how long you’ll REALLY wait in line, based on our experience and that of thousands of families on the same ride.

-New “Ride Now” and “Wait to Ride” recommendations to show whether waits are going up or down at your favorite rides.

-Customized step-by-step touring plans for each Disney park. You tell LINES which rides you want to see, and LINES will create a step-by-step itinerary showing when to go to each ride to avoid long lines. You can even change your plans while you’re in the park!

-A Crowd Calendar showing you how busy each park will be over the next ten days.

-Disney’s official app doesn’t show you the waits for many attractions or character greetings. LINES has wait times for more rides, shows, and character greetings than even Disney’s own app.

-See which rides still have FastPass+ ride reservations for the rest of the day. This is incredibly useful if you’re trying to plan your afternoon and evening, if you want to know whether FastPass+ is available at Splash Mountain after your nap, or if trying to decide which park to go to after dinner.

-Ask questions and get fast answers from our online community of 120,000 Disney experts

-Menus and prices for every restaurant, kiosk, food stand, and cart in all of Walt Disney World – more than 12,000 things to eat! Every menu is searchable – you can find every steak in Epcot or around Walt Disney World!

-LINES will show you exactly which things in each restaurant and store count as a snack in the Disney Dining Plan.

Our Disney trip planning tools have been featured in USA Today, the New York Times, FOX News and dozens of other newspapers, magazines, television and radio shows. Since 1986, we’ve helped more than 3 million families plan their Walt Disney World vacations.

Note: Some LINES features, such as the crowd calendar and wait times, require an in-app subscription purchase to access. Other LINES features, such as customized touring plans, menus, and viewing chat forums, are completely free. Your in-app subscription includes 365 days of access to TouringPlans.com, the Web’s most popular subscription-based site for Disney trip planning.

I use the website and now use the app as well. Only thing I would change is that my personal touring plans aren't of organized by date, they're organized in the order of creation. But the advice is great. Would recommend it to anyone planning a wdw trip.

Just got back from a week at Disney and Universal. We used this app everyday to follow and update our custom touring plans, check wait times, etc. Loved it!

Went to Disney on a crowded day and we hardly ever waited for anything. Longest line was the one for the tram. Restaurant menus with prices saved us a lot of money. You need this if you are going to Disney.

I bought the full priced premium subscription only to find out the next day that the app nor the website are working. I would like a refund. Stay away from this app

When I was in the parks I could not get MDE to work so I had to rely on the lines app. It was much better for show times as well. Other than the times being a little longer than what they really were I say this app is well worth it. Thanks!

This app fills in the gaps where the My Disney Experience app lacks in detail. I wouldn't come to the parks without it. It helped me when deciding if wait times were worth it and also helped us pick our counter service restaurants without having to walk around and settle for something we didn't want. Great app, and I love having the ability to submit and see other user submissions of real wait times.

Short waits on even the most crowded days - made my trip! It would be nice if it was easier to find the crowd tracker, which was one of the more useful items for planning my day to day, but for park enjoyment, this app is as important as a really good pair of athletic shoes.

This app saved the sanity of me and my family at Disney over the holiday week. Busiest time of the year at Disney, but we only waited in one line that was close to an hour. The neatest trick was walking away from the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom to rise the Haunted Mansion ride where there was literally 0 line! Or splitting up into single riders on the Everest ride at Animal Kingdom and cutting a 110 minute wait down to 20 minutes. Amazing tips!

It's like a glass ball you can use to know the future! (at least in Orlando theme parks!) A previous review described it as "invaluable" and that is a great description. If you are going see the mouse or the studios you need to spend the pittance and get this app and corresponding online program. M

This app was extremely helpful in making a detailed plan for my one day magic kingdom trip. It was much more efficient to use on the computer in planning! I also printed my schedule so that when I needed to change things on the app while in the park, I could already refer back to my original plan. It was also great to look at the actual to of lines while in the park. I do wish there was an easier way to navigate between my plan and the current wait times while you are in the park. When you buy this app you get access to a detailed check-list with items as far out as 180 days prior to trip. That being said, I bought the app to weeks prior to my trip and it was invaluable. One of the best things was that when I linked up my resort reservation the -list suggested requesting a particular room. Because of that, we payed for a stash room at Coronado springs but got a water view room!

I used Touring Plans to plan my first trip to Disney World and loved it! I could not have known how to plan for fastpasses in advance or how to manage my time during without Touring Plans! While at the park we were able to adjust our plans as needed and use the App to continue maximizing our fun! We never waited in line longer than 15 minutes for a ride the whole week! The combination of Touring Plans, the Disney experience App, and a great travel agent equaled the best trip E.V.E.R.

If you're a planner like me, you'll love this. Granted, there were a couple times when it wasn't completely accurate or I couldn't access the site while on Disney property. That being said, it gives a great framework for your trip and my family was absolutely thrilled and impressed I was so prepared.

All the talk of mathematics and statistics sold me on buying it but performance wasn't great. The app lacks significant functionality (as of 1/2/16). Most importantly the time estimates based on their historical analysis proved to be nowhere near accurate for well over half the attractions leading us to scrap the recommended plan entirely.

I have been using this app for years now and would never consider a trip to the World without it. The plans are key for anyone that is on a short trip and wants to see as much as possible. You can really minimize your wait time and increase your enjoyment of the park with this app. The cost of the app is a bargain for the time you will save following a plan.

If this review were for the site, it'd get 5 stars easily. The app falls a little short though. The app has many strengths such as viewing and editing my plan, seeing wait times, etc.... But it could use some work. The app is more of a web interface than a native app and looks designed for iPhone rather than Android. A few of the issues I noticed were that when hitting "done", not once in 6 days at the park did the page load properly. Sometimes web errors, others just a blank page. Both WiFi and 4g.

Have used Touring Guides and their unofficial guides several times and they are fantastic! Disney is overwhelming, and spending $12.99 to get a head up on 95% of those at the parks is a bargain. Wish I could give it more stars!

This is a mobile web app so it needs a decent internet connection to function well. With a Samsung Galaxy S4 and Verizon I frequently had connection problems at the parks. I'm reasonbly sure some of this is to do with the way the app is written. On a few occasions I had to reboot my phone to get the app working again. This version is a pain to use compared to the one I used in 2014. When it functions properly it's cool although we found the app's estimates were way out as much as a quarter of the time.

I decided to purchase this app. for my WDW trip. These guys do an AMAZING job at customizing the touring plans. My family and I stood in line at the most 15 mins. and had extra time for breaks. We enjoyed most of the attractions in every park. I HIGHLY recommend it. You will not regret it.

I saved up enough Google Play credits and purchased a year's subscription and this service had helped me with the planning of my upcoming Disney trip immensely. The crowd ratings alone is worth the price. Highly recommended!!!

We got the book by the authors last time and this time, but paid for the membership for the personalized plans. It is so worth it. Stuff happens: kids need bathroom breaks, little feet get tired and slow... and the ability to customize and optimize at will, even while at the park, is awesome. We get to see everything with minimal wait/walking.

Can't judge fully till its in action in the park but I like the planning tools. Some things are a little odd to figure out like importing a plan from the website. And landing page is a little over crowded. I'd like to decided what I want to see on the landing page and then be able to open other information as needed.

I used last week while in WDW & pretty accurate! I only found a discrepancy 1 time when app showed about 20 min expected wait on Sum of All Thrills in Epcot & actual posted wait was 50 mins. Otherwise wait times right on track or within a minute or two. I highly recommend!

This is a fabulous planning tool. I defiantly recommend it. BUT it has some bugs. Sometimes you have to trick it into accepting certain changes. Also sometimes a previous FP+ selection just will not accept any changes. I've spent hours with this site. But it's helped me plan my Disney World trip in a way I couldn't have done otherwise

K70%
by K####:

Has some useful info, wait times can't always be trusted. I know that the app states the crowd levels are an estimate but they aren't even in the same ballpark. The worst thing for me is the appearance. It looks like a dated first gen iPhone app.

I will never do Disney World without a Lines subscription, ever! Its a must use tool, especially if spending time during peak spring break season. Before I used this app, I made plans on the website, then made paper prints. The app has all the information one could ask for, however the UI needs improvement. Everything is a line of text...a better graphical interface would make for a more pleasant experience. Also, please make Windows Universal app, so I don't have to carry around an android or iPhone.

Improvements: (1) Need to have ability to insert new items or move existing items to specific sequence on plan without having to constantly click move up or move down, (2) couldn't figure out how to delete a plan, this muddied up the app. I had to set plans to an unrealistic date in the future to get rid of them, (3) wouldn't lock in my Fast Pass attractions to the times when using just the Evaluate option.

Great tool, helped out planning significantly for our 1st visit. Understand that these are NOT GUARANTEED forecasts, this is a great estimate of what it will MOST probably be.

K70%
by K####:

Despite very heavy crowd levels, app consistently spits out its statistics for inaccurate line times....I even communicated with staff who admit that they were surprised by crowd levels. Yet, did the app adjust, nope..... Use wdw app and this one simultaneously and believe both only partially.

K70%
by K####:

One of the nicest features of this app is the simplicity of the posted waiting times, expected waiting times, ride height requirements, shows and rides all on the same list at the same time. The Disney app spreads this information across multiple screens. That makes sense with the need to keep a low speed user from being overwhelmed, but someone trying to optimize their Disney experience, you really need all of this data on a single screen. This app does that.

K70%
by K####:

Twice the app showed all parks closed at 9:20 am, when clearly they were open. Several times I could not update times because the attraction was not showing up in the drop down. Gave up on the app on my third day at WDW

K70%
by K####:

I think the lines app is very helpful! Being able to know how crowded it will be is awesome! However I don't like that the app doesn't update whatever you do on the touring plans website onto the app and that you cannot delete or remove a touring plan that you have previously selected. Although there is some problems, I still think it is a lifesaver and I plan on using it on my next vacation to the world!

I downloaded wrong app, (DL instead of dw), and contacted customer service for IMMEDIATE resolution! Kind and helpful. Have used the app and subscription every time we visit dw.

I plan everything to the tee. If you're like me... You spend a lot at Disney and you want to make the most of your trip while enjoying yourself. To do that efficiently, you have to have a plan. We don't stick to it 100%, but it is awful convenient to hit most things in a logical order with the least amount of time wasted in line or walking all over the place. Ilove all the customizable features. Thanks!

I am a travel agent. I got this to see if it was something I wanted to recommend to my clients, so I got it for my own trip. Absolutely loved it for planning! But while at Disney, the app was down for most of my trip. I also, wasn't seeing character meets on it. Therefore, I'm disappointed in the actual app. Although, I don't think I will recommend the app. The website is most defintely helpful. I'm disappointed not hating!

I love this app. It is second to my disney experience. I think the biggest thing I don't like about app is no maps, character info is minimal, and you cannot plan when park is closed. The advice of ride or wait, forcasting ride times is going to really helpful when in park. I really enjoyed looking at the hotel room views on the full computer site. The app has room to expand and get better. I would say it a little expensive considering some key things are missing.

My family and I used this app in middle of December. We were able to walk up to most rides with no wait thanks to this app. I definitely recommend purchasing it. Worth every penny.

Plans for the day enabled to see soooo much more then if i had tried to work out a plan myself. other family that did not use this app saw about 1/2 of the stuff we did with the plans . Unfortunately the app/website wasn't working well one day and would say there were 10000 minute waits for rides in our plans. Luckily we could still use the lines aspect and just used that to decide what to do next. Despite the problem i highly recommend this app, when it is working it is awesome!

This was a great app for planning my trip, but I had some issues with it while in the parks. I loved the chat feature. Liners were able to answer all my questions about the intricacies of Disney planning. The access to restaurant menus and ride status was also very useful. The main issue I had in the parks was that I couldn't reliably update my touring plan as I went along. When I pushed Done for a step in the plan it usually wouldn't update. It would just take me to a blank screen. I'm not sure if this was an issue with the app or my wifi/cell signal in the park. I also found the Disney posted wait times to be more accurate than the Lines predicted wait times, but I understand they are working on updating those based on new higher crowd levels and increased use of Fast Pass Plus.

K70%
by K####:

I would probably give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I'm rounding up. The Good: the Touring Plans can save tons of time, the actual wait times for rides help you be flexible, and the menu search is great. These features along with the functionality of the website, easily make it worth the cost. The Bad: There is NO Map at all, and the rides listed in the touring plan don't even say what land they are in (Magic Kingdom) on your touring plan. So if you're unfamiliar with Disney, it can be confusing to get from 1 step in your touring plan to the next. Also would be helpful if you could click on the attraction in your touring plan, and it pulls up the description of the ride, its location, and its rating for different age groups. All of that is available if you search for the attraction separately, but it's clumsy to get to from the active touring plan. It's buggy, and crashed a lot for me over 2 days when I tried to reoptimize, mark a step in the plan as done, or record the wait time. The "How Lines Works" is pretty unhelpful. It encourages you to record wait times, for instance, but doesn't tell you how (I never did figure that out because it kept crashing).

K70%
by K####:

No better way to get the best disney experience. Wait times usually more accurate than those posted in the parks. Customized plans easy to make and really helpful for minimizing wait times and maximizing fun. Wouldn't do disney without this app!
