Stream Player

A basic audio stream / internet radio player with customizable playlist that plays many audio streams and displays track info when available.

Small in size, uses few resources and specially designed to work on legacy devices (running Android 2.3.3 and up) as well as modern devices. Totally free! No ads. No in-app purchases.

Please note: AAC-encoded streams are not supported. The reason is that to reliably support AAC streams on older Android devices (a design requirement for this app) demands a software AAC decoder. The AAC patent-owner's licensing model (currently a USD$1,000 initial fee plus USD$0.98 per unit fee) makes it not viable for inclusion in this free player.

The good news is many online radio audio streams also broadcast in other formats which may work with this app.

Privacy Policy:

This app does not read, use, save, track or share the contents of any personal data or metadata.

Your custom user streamlist is stored on your device and is not shared or tracked in any way.

This app does not collect any data about your use of the app.

Explanation of permissions requested:

"View network connections" - Allows the app to determine if your device is connected to the internet.

"Full network access" - Allows the app to connect to internet audio stream servers for playback on your device.

"Prevent tablet from sleeping" - Allows the app to play the audio stream while device screen is off.
